Exposito was placed on waivers earlier this week and went unclaimed. He appeared in nine games with the Orioles, but is no longer needed after Baltimore traded for Chris Snyder.

Exposito suffered a broken hamate bone last month while playing with Triple-A Norfolk. He'll return to the Tides once he's back to full health.

Exposito was just designated for assignment by the Red Sox over the weekend. The 25-year-old backstop has a .268/.324/.420 batting line over parts of seven seasons in the minor and will likely serve as depth at the Triple-A level.
