Rangers reassigned INF Pedro Ciriaco to minor league camp.

Ciriaco batted .442 (23-for-52) with two doubles, a triple, and seven RBI this spring, but it wasn't enough to win a bench spot. Hanser Alberto got the nod instead.

Rangers signed INF Pedro Ciriaco to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Ciriaco was non-tendered by the Braves in December after batting .261/.275/.352 with one home run and four stolen bases in 151 plate appearances last season. The 30-year-old will attempt to win a bench job in the spring.

Braves non-tendered 3B Pedro Ciriaco.

Ciriaco, 30, batted .261/.275/.352 with one home run and four stolen bases in 151 plate appearances this past season for Atlanta. He will probably have to settle for a non-guaranteed minor league contract this winter. Mike Minor was also non-tendered by the Braves.

Pedro Ciriaco went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBI against the Rays on Wednesday.

The Braves didn't really want him playing much shortstop while Andrelton Simmons was out, so Ciriaco was making his first start since July 24 and just his second since the All-Star break. The homer was his first since 2013 and his fifth in 568 major league at-bats.

Pedro Ciriaco went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI against the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Filling in for Andrelton Simmons at shortstop for the second straight day, Ciriaco had a nice game against one of his former teams. He'll likely return to the pine this weekend.

Braves recalled INF Pedro Ciriaco from Triple-A Gwinnett.

With Chris Johnson on the disabled list, Ciriaco will provide additional infield depth for the Braves. Through 20 games at Gwinnett, he was hitting just .234/.253/.286 with a homer, seven RBI and a 15/1 K/BB ratio in 77 at-bats.

Pedro Ciriaco went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double and three RBI against the Nationals on Friday.

Ciriaco is in the running for a spot on the Braves bench, though it won't help matters that he's not on the 40-man. The Braves are already looking at adding Eric Young Jr., at least one pitcher and maybe Kelly Johnson to a 40-man that currently stands at 39, so they might prefer to carry Jace Peterson, who is already on the roster.

Braves signed INF Pedro Ciriaco to a minor league contract.

Ciriaco had been removed from the Royals' 40-man roster. The 29-year-old infielder will presumably receive an invitation to spring training and compete for a utility job.

Royals sent INF Pedro Ciriaco outright to Triple-A Omaha.

Ciriaco had been designated for assignment, but he's cleared waivers and decided to accept an assigned to Omaha. The 28-year-old infielder could get another chance later this season.

Royals designated INF Pedro Ciriaco for assignment.

Ciriaco was batting just .213/.229/.255 across 49 plate appearances this season for Kansas City. The 28-year-old infielder seems likely to make it through waivers.

Royals purchased the contract of INF Pedro Ciriaco from Triple-A Omaha.

The Royals still have to clear a spot on the 40-man roster. Ciriaco was hitting .305/.328/.492 through 64 plate appearances in Triple-A and will help fill in at second base with Omar Infante (back) sidelined.

Ciriaco was designated for assignment by Kansas City last week and passed through waivers without a claim. The 28-year-old has a .692 career OPS in the majors.

Royals designated INF Pedro Ciriaco for assignment.

The move was made to clear a spot on the roster for Aaron Brooks. The 28-year-old infielder continues to bounce around the league, and should find another team willing to take a chance on him.

Royals purchased the contract of INF Pedro Ciriaco from Triple-A Omaha.

Kansas City claimed Ciriaco off waivers from the Padres in July and outrighted him to Triple-A. Ciriaco slashed .228/.288/.342 with two home runs and eight steals in 51 games earlier this season between San Diego and Boston. He'll serve as a utility man.
