Yankees non-tendered RHP Matt Daley.

Daley, 31, had a cup of coffee with the Yankees this past season, tossing six scoreless innings out of the bullpen. He was also every effective in the minors in his first year back from shoulder surgery, so he shouldn't have trouble latching on somewhere on a minor league deal.

Yankees purchased the contract of RHP Matt Daley from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Daley, a 31-year-old right-hander, is back in the big leagues for the first time since the 2011 season when he was with the Rockies. He pitched exceptionally well at the Triple-A level, posting a 2.54 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 53/6 K/BB ratio over 39 innings. He'll likely work in a middle relief role for the Yankees.

Matt Daley underwent surgery on his right shoulder Monday.

Daley was placed on the disabled list at the end of May with right shoulder tendinitis. He was making progress in a throwing program earlier this month, but obviously experienced a setback. There is no timetable for his return, though we can safely rule him out for the rest of the season.

An MRI taken Monday on Matt Daley's sore right shoulder showed no structural damage.

Daley is simply dealing with inflammation and should be ready to return from the 15-day disabled list around June 20. The right-hander has allowed seven earned runs in just six innings of relief so far this season.

Rockies placed RHP Matt Daley on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.

Daley allowed seven runs over six innings in his time with the Rockies, but it appears that he wasn't quite right physically. He said the shoulder initially started to bother him in his May 27 outing against the Cardinals. Daley did note that the injury is different than the one he dealt with last year, as the pain this time around is more in the front of his shoulder. He'll fly back to Denver to be examined by team doctors before the Rox decide what to do with him.
