Durango made just seven plate appearances in the major leagues this past year and registered a weak .640 OPS across 108 minor league games. He'll be organizational outfield depth for the Braves in 2012.

The move was made in order to clear a roster spot for J.B. Shuck, who has been called up. Durango was claimed off waivers from the Padres in late June but has a good chance of clearing them this time and remaining in the organization.

The 25-year-old outfielder was batting just .243 over his first 61 games with Triple-A Tucson this season, but has some value because of his plus-speed and defensive ability. He could still carve out a niche as a reserve outfielder in the right situation.

Both should be up later this season. Durango, a speedster and plus defender, hit .250 with five stolen bases in 53 plate appearances for the Padres last season. Deduno appeared in three games for the Rockies last season and will provide injury insurance for the bullpen.
