Diamondbacks and RHP Randall Delgado avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.275 million contract.
It's a nice raise for the right-hander in his first year of arbitration eligibility. Delgado settled nicely into a full-time relief role in 2015, posting a 3.25 ERA with 73 strikeouts over 72 innings. He'll be an integral part of the Arizona bullpen again in 2016. Jan 15 - 11:01 AM

Randall Delgado didn't offer the Diamondbacks much in a win over the Reds on Saturday, surrendering four runs on six hits over 2 1/3 innings.

Delgado made the start in place of the injured Jeremy Hellickson, who just hit the disabled list. The 25-year-old right-hander struck out two and walked two in the contest, with three of the four runs against him scoring in the third inning. In relief duty this season, Delgado owned a 2.70 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 48/22 K/BB ratio over 43 appearances. Those numbers are fine, but it's difficult to trust him for fantasy purposes in his new role, at least until he begins to post positive results out of the rotation. He'll try to do just that in what figures to be a tough home start versus the Cardinals next time he takes the mound.

Randall Delgado will start for the Diamondbacks on Saturday against the Reds.

That would be Jeremy Hellickson's place in the rotation, but Hellickson landed on the disabled list Thursday with a glute injury. Delgado, 25, holds a 2.70 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 48/22 K/BB ratio in 43 relief appearances this season for Arizona. He's not a good fantasy bet in what will be his first start of the summer.

Diamondbacks activated RHP Randall Delgado from the 15-day disabled list.

Delgado missed around three weeks with a right ankle sprain. He'll be back in the Diamondbacks' bullpen Monday for the start of a three-game series in Pittsburgh.

Randall Delgado (ankle) will pitch in an Arizona League game on Wednesday.

Delgado was placed on the 15-day disabled list on June 29 after spraining his right ankle running prior to a game. He'll participate in Arizona League action on Wednesday and could rejoin the Diamondbacks for their weekend series against the Braves.

Diamondbacks placed RHP Randall Delgado on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 28, with a sprained right ankle.

Delgado hurt the ankle running on the field prior to Tuesday's game. He's not expected to miss much time.

Randall Delgado is expected to make the Diamondbacks' Opening Day roster as a long reliever.

Manager Chip Hale confirmed as much on Sunday, when he said the right-hander would be on the team whether he wins a spot in the rotation or not. The 25-year-old has pitched well in Cactus League play, compiling a 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 9/2 K/BB ratio in 10 innings.

Randall Delgado continued to impress in Monday's start against the White Sox, yielding only one run in three innings.

It was actually the first run Delgado had allowed in three spring starts. The only hit he allowed came on a Tyler Saladino solo home run in the third inning. He also walked two and struck out two. Though Delgado is a dark horse to make the D-Backs' rotation, he's had mediocre results in Arizona over the last two seasons and a few good spring starts won't erase that.

Randall Delgado surrendered three runs over four innings Thursday in a loss to the Giants.

Delgado pitched five scoreless innings against the Padres last time out, but the command wasn't really there today. He allowed seven hits, walked two and struck out three before departing. Barring a rotation change, he'll face the Giants again next time on Wednesday.

Randall Delgado, making his third start of the season and his first since April 10, hurled five shutout innings in a win against the Padres on Thursday.

Delgado returned to the rotation as the D'Backs contemplate the idea of a six-man rotation. The right-hander limited the Padres to two hits while striking out two and issuing zero walks. Serving as a reliever in 38 of his 41 appearances, Delgado has a 5.40 ERA with a 1.48 WHIP and a 72/32 K/BB ratio. He'll face the Giants in San Francisco in his next start.

Randall Delgado will start on Thursday against the Padres.

The D'Backs have mentioned the possibility of going with a six-man rotation in September, and it appears they're beginning to implement that plan. Delgado holds an 11.05 ERA in two starts this season and a 5.85 ERA over, but he has struck out 70 over 60 innings. He went three innings and threw 57 pitches in his last appearance last week, so he should be able to get through five frames Thursday as long as he's reasonably efficient.

Randall Delgado hit the showers early on Thursday against the Giants after allowing three runs on six hits and three walks over 3 1/3 innings without striking out a batter.

With Josh Collmenter's return to the rotation looming, this may have been Delgado's last start in a while. He can't say he wasn't given an opportunity, and the bullpen might be a better fit at the moment; Delgado certainly has the stuff for it, despite his shoddy results this year. If he somehow hangs onto his spot through one more turn in the rotation, Delgado and his 10.13 ERA and 2.88 WHIP would get the Mets on Tuesday.

Randall Delgado was hit hard in a losing effort against the Rockies on Friday, allowing six runs on 10 hits over his four frames.

Delgado walked a pair and struck out three on the rough afternoon. The Rockies broke the game open with a three-spot in the third inning, and Charlie Blackmon belted a two-run homer in the fourth to complete the damage. He’ll look for better results when he squares off against the Giants in San Francisco on Thursday. If Delgado continues to struggle, the D’Backs could turn to uber-prospect Archie Bradley to fill the fifth spot in their rotation.

Randall Delgado allowed two runs in four innings during Thursday's start against the Reds.

Delgado surrendered seven hits in total while walking one and striking out three. As the D'Backs demoted Archie Bradley to Triple-A, the fifth spot in the rotation appears to be Delgado's, though no announcement has been made yet. Though Delgado showed good control last season in 116 1/3 innings, he was very homer-prone and wasn't anything special in the strikeout department.

Randall Delgado was hit around in Tuesday's start against the Padres, allowing four runs and failing to make it out of the fourth inning.

Delgado's four runs came on five hits and a walk. Carlos Quentin took him deep in the second and Yonder Alonso went yard in the third. Delgado will contribute out of the bullpen but can and likely will be used as an emergency starter as well.
