Randall Delgado (oblique) has been pulled back from his rehab assignment and will be shut down for a week.
The news is a bit surprising on the heels of Delgado telling The Athletic's Zach Buchanan that he threw a bullpen session and felt "fine" earlier Saturday. No reason for the club on why he's been shut down. No timetable exists for his return, given this newest development. Apr 21 - 5:21 PM

Randall Delgado (oblique) threw a bullpen session Saturday.

Afterwards, he declared his arm "fine," according to Zach Buchanan of The Athletic. Delgado has been on the disabled list since March 27 with the left oblique strain, and he missed all of camp with the injury. The club hasn't offered much in the way of a timetable, but if he's throwing well it stands to reason he's close.

Diamondbacks placed RHP Randall Delgado on the 10-day disabled list with a left oblique strain.

Delgado has been out all spring with the oblique injury. He's making progress, but will get a late start on the season.
Mar 27 - 8:59 AM

Zach Buchanan of The Athletic Arizona confirmed that Randall Delgado (oblique) won't be ready for Opening Day.

Delgado has yet to appear in a spring training game because of the oblique strain. He's been a significant part of the Arizona bullpen the last two seasons, so the Diamondbacks will have to piece together his mid-to-late inning appearances until he returns.
Mar 16 - 4:03 PM

Diamondbacks' manager Torey Lovullo said Sunday that Randall Delgado is battling a left oblique issue and may not be ready for Opening Day.

Delgado got a late start already this spring due to a flexor tendon strain and now he's being slowed by the oblique issue. Even if he isn't ready for the start of the regular season, he shouldn't be too far behind.
Mar 11 - 9:13 PM

Randall Delgado (elbow) faced hitters during live batting practice on Thursday morning.

Delgado got a late start this spring after missing time with a strained flexor tendon last year, but appears to be making progress. "He didn’t land every pitch, but we were very, very satisfied with the delivery and the stuff," said manager Torey Lovullo. The right-hander worked to a 3.59 ERA over 26 outings (five starts) for the Snakes last season.

Diamondbacks and RHP Randall Delgado avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.25 million contract.

Delgado posted a 3.59 ERA over 26 appearances for the Diamondbacks in 2017. He missed nearly all of the second half with a strained flexor tendon but is expected to be ready for the start of spring training in February.
Jan 8 - 9:23 PM

Diamondbacks activated RHP Randall Delgado from the 60-day disabled list.

Delgado was shut down in mid-July with an elbow injury. He's trying to recover through the rest and rehab route, but there's a chance that he eventually may need Tommy John surgery.

Randall Delgado will be given a platelet-rich plasma injection in his right elbow on Thursday.

Delgado is working his way back from a strained flexor tendon. He's obviously done for the regular season, but the Diamondbacks haven't officially ruled him out for a potential return during the playoffs.

Dr. James Andrews has confirmed that Randall Delgado is dealing with a flexor strain.

That's relatively good news, as there was some concern that Delgado might need Tommy John surgery. The 27-year-old right-hander is done for the season, but he's not expected to need surgery and should be close to 100 percent leading into spring training next February. Delgado is arbitration-eligible this winter after earning $1.775 million in 2017.

Diamondbacks transferred RHP Randall Delgado from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Christian Walker. Delgado recently had a setback with his elbow injury and isn't expected back this season.

Randall Delgado will undergo an MRI on his sore right elbow.

And the scan results will be examined by Dr. James Andrews, with Tommy John surgery looking like a possibility. Delgado has been out since mid-July because of a lingering right elbow injury. He can safely be ruled out for the remainder of the season, even if surgery is not required.

Randall Delgado (elbow) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Saturday.

He'll throw another one Tuesday and incorporate breaking balls that time. Delgado has been out since mid-July with an elbow injury but appears to nearly be game-ready.

Randall Delgado (elbow) has progressed to throwing from 75 feet.

Delgado has missed the last three weeks of action with right elbow inflammation. It's unclear when he'll be ready for mound work and a rehab assignment, but he's coming along.

Diamondbacks placed RHP Randall Delgado on the 10-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation.

It's not terribly surprising that Delgado's elbow is acting up given how he's been jerked around in different roles this season. How long he'll be sidelined isn't known at this point.
