Matt Davidson fanned all four times he was up Tuesday against the Yankees.
Davidson had his average all of the way up to .270 a few days ago, but he is 0-for-16 with 10 strikeouts in his last four games. He's sporting a 93/12 K/BB ratio in 230 plate appearances this season. Still, he does have 17 homers. Jun 27 - 11:49 PM

Matt Davidson continued his hot-hitting ways by going 2-for-4 on Friday against the Athletics.

Both hits were singles. Davidson has hit at a ridiculous .378 clip (17-for-45) over his last 11 games, which has brought his batting average up from .239 to .270. Of course, with the way he strikes out, fantasy owners aren’t picking him up for his batting average. But the power appears legitimate.
Jun 23 - 11:53 PM

Matt Davidson belted another home run on Saturday, helping to power the White Sox to a 5-2 victory over the Blue Jays.

If it seems like Davidson is leaving the yard on a daily basis lately, that isn't too far off. The 26-year-old has now homered in five of his last six games, and has a total of 15 for the year. He also singled in this one, finishing the afternoon 2-for-4. Davidson is slashing .263/.307/.559 with 36 RBIin 54 games this season.
Jun 17 - 4:06 PM

Matt Davidson homered in a fourth straight game and doubled Thursday in the White Sox's 5-2 win over the Orioles.

The homer was his 14th. The double was just his fifth; when he hits a ball well, it's usually getting caught by a fan. Davidson was just 5-for-36 with 21 strikeouts over his previous 10 games before going deep in every game of the four-game series against the Orioles. Unfortunately for him, the White Sox are now done with Baltimore this year.
Jun 15 - 6:05 PM

Matt Davidson went 2-for-3 and cracked a solo home run in a loss to the Orioles on Wednesday.

He went yard off starter Dylan Bundy in the second inning as the White Sox took a big early lead, but the Orioles would come roaring back for the win. Davidson also walked in the game. The 26-year-old is getting his first taste of near-everyday playing time and has hit the ball hard when he makes contact. He is batting .253/.302/.524 with 13 taters and 34 RBI. He has 68 strikeouts and 11 walks in 166 at-bats.
Jun 15 - 1:25 AM

Matt Davidson hit his first career grand slam off the Orioles' Alec Asher in the White Sox's 6-1 win Tuesday.

Since a surprisingly strong April, Davidson hasn't had anything to offer the White Sox except the occasional homer. Still, tonight's was a big one. He now has 12 homers on the year. Apart from those, he's hitting .245 with just four doubles and a 67/10 K/BB ratio in 163 at-bats.
Jun 13 - 11:27 PM

Matt Davidson smashed his 11th home run of the year on Monday, leading the White Sox to a 10-7 victory over the Orioles.

Davidson clubbed his solo home run in the seventh inning, capping off the scoring for the White Sox in the ballgame. He added a single, finishing the night 2-for-4. He continues to be a serviceable option at designated hitter for the White Sox, slashing .245/.292/.491 with 11 long balls and 29 RBI.
Jun 12 - 11:43 PM

While his teammates were combining for 14 hits, Matt Davidson struck out all five times he was up Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Davidson has held it together better than we imagined he would -- he still has an .827 OPS at the moment -- but strikeouts are always going to be a big problem for him. He's sporting a 52/9 K/BB ratio through 40 games.
May 31 - 12:21 AM

Matt Davidson clubbed his ninth home run of the season in Friday's victory over the Tigers.

Davidson blasted a solo homer off of Blaine Hardy in the sixth inning, increasing the White Sox' advantage to 4-2. He also singled, finishing the night 2-for-4. He has been a nice addition to the lineup this season, slashing .257/.305/.541 with nine homers and 24 RBI.
May 27 - 2:53 AM

Matt Davidson went 2-for-4 with two RBI singles in Sunday's win over the Mariners.

Davidson worked an RBI single as part of a five-run first inning and later came through with another RBI base knock in the fifth. The Mariners figure to be happy enough to see him leaving Seattle -- during this weekend's four-game set, Davidson wrecked the M's with six hits in 16 at-bats, including two home runs and six RBI.
May 21 - 7:11 PM

Matt Davidson finished 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and two runs scored in Saturday's win against the Mariners.

Davidson has stumbled to a .184 (9-for-49) average in the month of May, but he has belted three homers with six RBI over the past nine outings. He has hit safely in each of his past four outings so he is showing signs of pulling out of his weeks-long slump.
May 21 - 3:06 AM

Matt Davidson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to the Mariners.

Davidson got the White Sox on the board with his two-run home run in the seventh inning. The 26-year-old has shown some pop in his bat this season, socking seven homers across 90 at-bats, but that power comes with a meager .222 batting average.
May 19 - 1:19 AM

Matt Davidson went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in the loss to the Angels on Monday.

Anderson is 4-for-44 with 17 strikeouts in his last 14 games, but at least half of those hits have been homers. The White Sox have nothing to lose by continuing to run him out there, but he's likely to remain a weak link.
May 16 - 1:17 AM

Matt Davidson went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Tuesday against the Twins, dropping his season line to .246/.296/.538.

Davidson was surprisingly productive for the first few weeks of the season, but his fall was a given and he's hit rock bottom with a 2-for-27 stretch. The White Sox will probably continue to play him because they're not trying to win, anyway, but fantasy owners have better options.
May 10 - 12:15 AM

Matt Davidson snapped an 0-for-17 slump by going 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk on Thursday.

Davidson hadn't had a hit since April 24. He turned in a really nice first week for the White Sox, but he's not a good bet going forward. Of course, the team has nothing to lose by playing him this year.
