Davidson landed on the DL with a bruised wrist earlier this week but hopes to resume hitting on Friday and could be back when first eligible on Tuesday. The 26-year-old leads the Pale Hose with 22 homers, though it's come with a disappointing .238 average and a whopping 124 strikeouts.
Aug 10 - 5:20 PM

White Sox placed DH Matt Davidson on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to August 4, with a right wrist contusion.

Davidson is still sore after being hit by a pitch a week ago. X-rays came back negative, so he shouldn't be out long.
Aug 8 - 12:06 PM

Matt Davidson (wrist) was a late scratch from the White Sox' lineup Sunday.

Davidson had been slated to return from a right wrist injury, but instead he'll miss his fifth straight game. Tyler Saladino will serve as the club's designated hitter Sunday.
Aug 6 - 12:52 PM

Matt Davidson (wrist) remained out of the White Sox' lineup Friday.

It's the third straight start he's missed with a bruised right wrist. Tyler Saladino is in the designated hitter spot.
Aug 4 - 2:27 PM

Matt Davidson (wrist) doesn't think he'll require an MRI.

Davidson is sitting for the second straight game after bruising his right wrist on a hit-by-pitch Tuesday against the Blue Jays. However, Davidson doesn't anticipate a DL stint and was able to track some pitches during Thursday's bullpen session. Consider him day-to-day.
Aug 3 - 5:51 PM

Matt Davidson (wrist) is not in the White Sox starting lineup on Thursday night in Boston.

Davidson remains sidelined with a bruised left wrist. Yolmer Sanchez is serving as Chicago's designated hitter and batting second Thursday versus Red Sox right-hander Rick Porcello.

Aug 2 - 11:22 AM

Matt Davidson left Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays with a bruised right wrist.

Davidson took a pitch from Marcus Stroman off his left wrist in the fourth inning. He stayed in to play the field but came out for a pinch-hitter in the sixth. Davidson's X-rays came back negative and the White Sox are calling him day-to-day. Tyler Saladino took over at third base after Davidson's departure.
Aug 1 - 10:39 PM

Matt Davidson went 2-for-4 with a homer, three RBI and a walk to lead the White Sox past the Blue Jays 7-6 on Monday.

Davidson hit a two-run homer in the eighth and won the game in the ninth for the second straight day, though this time it was with a single, rather than a homer. While the big hits are great, Davidson still has just a .178 average and a 41/4 K/BB ratio in 101 at-bats since June 24. He's locked in as a regular for the rest of the year, but he shouldn't prove useful in mixed leagues.
Aug 1 - 12:57 AM

Matt Davidson went 1-for-4 with a walk-off two-run home run in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Indians.

The game had been tied at 1-1 from the sixth inning on, but Davidson made sure that extras would not be in the cards for the home team. Stepping to the plate with a runner on and one out in the ninth inning, Davidson ended the game with a two-run homer off Bryan Shaw. For the campaign as a whole, the slugger is slashing .236/.278/.492 with 21 homers and 48 RBI across 297 at-bats. He has gone yard in two of his last three games and three of his last seven.
Jul 30 - 5:28 PM

Matt Davidson was hitless in five at-bats with four strikeouts in Saturday's game against the Indians.

Davidson appeared to be hit by a pitch during his final at-bat, but the umpire ruled he swung at the pitch. He was unable to check up before being clipped on the jersey. Davidson went on to strike out in a key situation. He provides fantasy owners plenty of power, but he also is chock full of disappointment, especially in formats giving negative points for strikeouts and poor average.
Jul 30 - 12:31 AM

Matt Davidson slugged a two-run homer and drew a walk Friday versus the Indians.

Davidson finally got the White Sox on the board when he took Danny Salazar deep in the seventh inning. With his shaky approach and lofty strikeout rate, the 26-year-old has predictably dropped off from a batting average perspective, but he’s still been a nice surprise in deeper fantasy leagues with 20 homers and 46 RBI through 84 games.
Jul 29 - 1:48 AM

Matt Davidson wallopped a long solo home run in Monday's win over the Cubs.

Koji Uehara left a splitter up and over the plate in the eighth inning and Davidson pulverized it over the Wrigley Field bleachers and onto Waveland Avenue. The dinger was Davidson's 19th of the season. Davidson is sporting a lowly .284 on-base percentage and 39 percent(!) strikeout rate, but he's provided some power and that's all the White Sox could've hoped for given his underwhelming numbers in the minors the last few seasons.
