Matt Davidson went 2-for-4 with two RBI singles in Sunday's win over the Mariners.
Davidson worked an RBI single as part of a five-run first inning and later came through with another RBI base knock in the fifth. The Mariners figure to be happy enough to see him leaving Seattle -- during this weekend's four-game set, Davidson wrecked the M's with six hits in 16 at-bats, including two home runs and six RBI. Date:

Matt Davidson finished 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and two runs scored in Saturday's win against the Mariners.

Davidson has stumbled to a .184 (9-for-49) average in the month of May, but he has belted three homers with six RBI over the past nine outings. He has hit safely in each of his past four outings so he is showing signs of pulling out of his weeks-long slump.
May 21 - 3:06 AM

Matt Davidson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to the Mariners.

Davidson got the White Sox on the board with his two-run home run in the seventh inning. The 26-year-old has shown some pop in his bat this season, socking seven homers across 90 at-bats, but that power comes with a meager .222 batting average.
May 19 - 1:19 AM

Matt Davidson went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in the loss to the Angels on Monday.

Anderson is 4-for-44 with 17 strikeouts in his last 14 games, but at least half of those hits have been homers. The White Sox have nothing to lose by continuing to run him out there, but he's likely to remain a weak link.
May 16 - 1:17 AM

Matt Davidson went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Tuesday against the Twins, dropping his season line to .246/.296/.538.

Davidson was surprisingly productive for the first few weeks of the season, but his fall was a given and he's hit rock bottom with a 2-for-27 stretch. The White Sox will probably continue to play him because they're not trying to win, anyway, but fantasy owners have better options.
May 10 - 12:15 AM

Matt Davidson snapped an 0-for-17 slump by going 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk on Thursday.

Davidson hadn't had a hit since April 24. He turned in a really nice first week for the White Sox, but he's not a good bet going forward. Of course, the team has nothing to lose by playing him this year.
May 4 - 5:44 PM

Matt Davidson went 3-for-4 with four RBI as the White Sox dominated the Royals on Monday.

Davidson hit a solo homer off Jason Vargas in the bottom of the second inning and he had both an RBI double and a two-run single in Chicago's eight-run sixth inning. The 26-year-old former top prospect filled in well at third base when Todd Frazier was battling the flu and he should continue to see more turns at DH, which is where he started and finished the game Monday night.
Apr 24 - 11:17 PM

Matt Davidson slugged a go-ahead solo homer in the seventh inning in a 2-1 victory over the Twins on Friday.

Davidson, who went 2-for-4 on the night, was at third base again with Todd Frazier (flu) serving as the DH in his return to the lineup. The 26-year-old has taken advantage of the early playing time by hitting .364 (8-for-22) with three homers, one double, one triple, and nine RBI through seven games. He’s deserving of a longer look in this lineup.
Apr 15 - 12:58 AM

Matt Davidson hit a three-run home run as part of a five-run first inning, and the White Sox cruised to a 10-4 victory over the Indians on Thursday.

Davidson's three-run jack capped the five-run frame against Indians starter Josh Tomlin. It was his only hit in five at-bats. The homer was the second of the year for the 26-year-old, but he's had plenty of success when the ball has stayed in the yard as well -- after Thursday's game, Davidson is batting .333/.368/.833 through six games. Not far removed from being a highly-rated prospect, Davidson could be an interesting name in deep and AL-only leagues if he forces his way into everyday at-bats as the team's designated hitter.
Apr 14 - 8:19 AM

Matt Davidson went 1-for-4 with two RBI to lead his team over the Indians on Wednesday evening.

He came to the plate in the second inning with runners on second and third. He poked a single into left field to bring both runners home. That was all the runs the White Sox would score and all they would need to win the game. Davidson struck out in all three of his other at-bats. He is getting only part-time action in the season's early going but is making a strong case for more playing time. He is now batting .385/.429/.846 with one homer and five RBI in 14 plate appearances.
Apr 12 - 9:33 PM

Matt Davidson is serving as the White Sox' designated hitter for Saturday afternoon's showdown against the Twins.

The 26-year-old drew a start against the Tigers on Thursday and responded with a three-run homer, a triple and a walk in an impressive offensive performance. He probably represents the club's best option at the moment and would become interesting in AL-only formats if he can carve out consistent at-bats there.
Apr 8 - 11:07 AM

Matt Davidson had a three-run homer, a triple, a walk and three runs scored Thursday against the Tigers.

That'll do nicely. Davidson was a colossal disappointment for three years after the White Sox got him from the Diamondbacks for Addison Reed, but now that he's out of options -- and the team really has nothing to lose -- he's getting a shot as at least a part-time DH. The power is real, but we're still not expecting much.
Apr 6 - 5:54 PM

Matt Davidson went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

He had a pair of run-scoring singles in addition to the tater. Davidson hit well at Triple-A last season and got called up to the White Sox in June. He broke his foot in his first game and missed the rest of the season. He is battling for a roster spot this spring.
Mar 9 - 7:23 PM

White Sox activated 3B/DH Matt Davidson from the 60-day disabled list.

Davidson suffered a fractured right foot during his first game up with the White Sox in late June. The former first-round pick of the Diamondbacks will have to fight for a roster spot next spring.

Matt Davidson (foot) has been ruled out for the season.

Austin Jackson (knee) is also done for the year. Davidson was called up from the minors in July and broke his right foot in his first game with the big club. He logged one hit in his two at-bats for the White Sox this season. He should be fine for spring training.
