Matt Davidson went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and three runs scored in Monday's Cactus League game against the Diamondbacks.
The homer was the fourth of the spring for Davidson, who is 19-for-53 (.358) with 18 RBI through 17 Cactus League games. The 26-year-old tallied 26 home runs and 68 RBI in 118 games last season, but that came with a .220 batting average and .260 on-base percentage. If he can make some strides in those departments, he could take on mixed-league fantasy value in 2018. Mar 19 - 6:50 PM

Matt Davidson hammered his third home run of the spring Wednesday in the White Sox’s Cactus League win over the Reds.

Davidson got Chicago on the board with a two-run single in the first and kept the engine running with a solo blast in the sixth. He’s been firing on all cylinders this spring with 15 RBI and a .393 average. Whether it’s at third base or DH, the White Sox are going to find at-bats for him.

Matt Davidson went 2-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs on Saturday as the White Sox defeated the Royals 9-5 in Cactus League play.

Davidson delivered a two-run triple in the sixth inning that put the White Sox on top 6-5, a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Coming off of a year where he blasted 26 home runs, Davidson is in line to see at-bats in at least a platoon role at designated hitter. The White Sox have been linked to Mike Moustakas though, and that type of signing could squeeze Davidson off of the roster.
Mar 3 - 7:32 PM

Matt Davidson went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBI in the White Sox 8-5 victory over the Reds on Sunday in the Cactus League.

Davidson's homer was a three-run shot that came off of Reds reliever Wandy Peralta. After being written off by many, Davidson was able to hit 26 homers in his first full season with the White Sox, albeit in a year where he hit just .220 and struck out 165 times. If he improves the approach -- he walked just 19 times in 443 plate appearances -- he could see his average and OBP go up, but he has to give pitchers a reason to throw him strikes.

Matt Davidson (illness) went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI in his return to action Friday against the Royals.

Davidson got the White Sox on the board with a double in the second inning before homering off Jason Hammel in a five-run fourth inning. The 26-year-old has amassed 26 home runs this season, though his shaky approach has resulted in a .222 batting average and a .264 on-base percentage. Davidson was scratched from Thursday’s lineup with flu-like symptoms, but he should be fine moving forward.

Matt Davidson was scratched from the White Sox starting lineup on Thursday due to flu-like symptoms.

Willy Garcia took his place in the lineup and will bat seventh against Dallas Keuchel and the Astros. Davidson is considered day-to-day.

Matt Davidson socked his 25th homer of the season — a solo shot — in Saturday’s win over the Tigers.

Davidson went 1-for-5 on the night. This was just his second homer since August 27. The power has been nice, but he’s batting just .225 with a .268 on-base percentage and a 154/19 K/BB ratio. He’s largely been all-or-nothing.

Matt Davidson is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Royals.

He'll take a seat as Jose Abreu gets a start out of the DH spot. Nick Delmonico will start at first base while Rymer Liriano will start in left field.

Matt Davidson blasted a three-run home in Tuesday's loss to the Indians.

Davidson took Danny Salazar deep as part of a four-run first inning for the White Sox, but they were shut down the rest of the way. He was hitless in his other four plate appearances, which sums up his season pretty well. Davidson has a .228/.270/.480 batting line but has clubbed 24 longballs over 98 games.

Matt Davidson went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's win over the Tigers.

Davidson swatted a three-run home run off Matt Boyd in the third inning, the biggest blow in what ended as a five-run frame for the White Sox. He was just activated from the 10-day disabled list on August 25 after missing three weeks of action while recovering from a deep right wrist contusion. For the campaign as a whole, Davidson is hitting .242/.286/.506 with 23 homers and 54 RBI over the course of 90 games played.

White Sox activated 3B/DH Matt Davidson from the 10-day disabled list.

Davidson had been slated to stay on his rehab assignment for about a week, but the White Sox activated him after one game with Yoan Moncada (shin) going down. He'll see regular starts at third base and occasionally in the designated hitter spot.

White Sox manager Rick Renteria hinted Tuesday that Matt Davidson (wrist) won't be back before September 1.

Davidson has been cleared to begin a minor league rehab assignment, but the out-of-contention White Sox will bring him along slowly. He was placed on the disabled list August 8, retroactive to August 4, after suffering a deep right wrist contusion on a hit-by-pitch.

Matt Davidson (wrist) has been hitting and taking ground balls.

Davidson is working back from a bruised wrist. Barring a setback, he should start a rehab assignment sometime next week. The 26-year-old ranks second on the team with 22 homers this season.
