Brian Goodwin went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's loss to the Braves.
Goodwin socked a two-run home run off Julio Teheran in the second inning. Those would be the only runs the Nationals scored in the 13-2 drubbing. The home run was his third in his last four games. He is hitting .267/.318/.567 with four homers and 11 RBI in 60 at-bats this season. Jun 14 - 7:38 PM

Brian Goodwin finished 4-for-5 with a triple and a two-run home run in Friday's game at Oakland.

Goodwin has collected six hits over his past 13 at-bats since his brief demotion to Triple-A Syracuse in late May. It appears he'll see semi-regular playing time as long as Chris Heisey (biceps) remains sidelined.

Nationals recalled OF Brian Goodwin from Triple-A Syracuse.

Goodwin -- who was just shuttled down to Triple-A on Tuesday -- receives the call back to the bigs due to Chris Heisey being placed on the disabled list with a right bicep rupture. In 10 games with the Nats this season, the 26-year-old Goodwin has hit a mere .188/.235/.313. There is no fantasy upside with this move.
May 24 - 6:04 PM

Nationals optioned OF Brian Goodwin to Triple-A Syracuse.

Goodwin batted just .188/.235/.313 in 10 games with Washington. The 26-year-old will go on serving as organizational outfield depth for the Nationals.

Rafael Bautista was sent down in a corresponding roster move. Goodwin, 26, was batting .256/.327/.367 with two homers, 11 RBI, and two steals over 25 games in Triple-A this season. He'll provide some backup to Michael Taylor in center field.

Nationals recalled OF Brian Goodwin from Triple-A Syracuse.

Goodwin was up briefly with the big club last month and has hit .280/.349/.438 with 14 homers and 15 steals for Syracuse. He doesn't figure to play a whole lot down the stretch.

National recall OF Brian Goodwin from Triple-A Syracuse.

He'll provide the Nationals with depth on the bench while Ryan Zimmerman is sidelined with a wrist injury. He's unlikely to see enough playing time to have any fantasy value this time around. Goodwin was hitting .284/.350/.434 with 11 homers, 62 RBI and 14 stolen bases in 109 games at Triple-A Syracuse.

Nationals optioned OF Brian Goodwin to Triple-A Syracuse.

Goodwin didn't get much action this spring in Nationals camp after undergoing surgery on his non-throwing shoulder late last season. The 24-year-old former prospect will be looking to rebound at Triple-A in 2015 after batting just .219/.342/.328 in 81 games at the level last summer.

Nationals outfield prospect Brian Goodwin will be monitored in camp after having surgery on his left (non-throwing) shoulder late last season.

It doesn't sound like anything that might put his availability for Opening Day in question. Goodwin, 24, is set to return to Triple-A to start the season after struggling in his first go-round at the level in 2014 with a .219/.342/.328 batting line.

Brian Goodwin will open the 2014 season at Triple-A Syracuse.

The 23-year-old outfielder spent the entire 2013 season at Double-A Harrisburg, batting .252/.355/.407 with 19 doubles, 10 triples, 10 home runs, 19 stolen bases and 121-61 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 122 games. The Nationals have no need to rush Goodwin this season given their current big-league outfield configuration, but he could potentially join the team at some point this season in the event of an injury.

Brian Goodwin homered and doubled off the bench Wednesday versus the Mets.

The 23-year-old Goodwin has been viewed as the Nationals' top position prospect since Anthony Rendon graduated. He and Michael Taylor are both candidates to eventually take over for Denard Span in center. Last year, Goodwin hit .252/.355/.406 with 19 steals for Double-A Harrisburg.
