Kyle Seager went 1-for-3 with a single in Sunday's loss to the White Sox.
Outside of a seventh-inning solo homer by Nelson Cruz, the Mariners were lost offensively in this one. Seager's single was just one of six hits by the team. He has struggled to a .243/.340/.368 triple-slash through 42 games played, though we expect those numbers to pick up. May 21 - 7:07 PM

Kyle Seager went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Athletics.

The Mariners trailed 4-1 entering the seventh inning, but came roaring back with three runs in the frame to tie matters up. Seager then swatted a solo home run off Ryan Madson with two outs in the eighth inning to give the M's a 5-4 lead, only for Steve Cishek to surrender a two-run home run to Matt Joyce in the ninth to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Setting aside that wobbly bullpen situation, Seager has now homered in back-to-back games. His overall .254/.340/.396 triple-slash is not particularly shiny, but he has been among the most consistent hitters in the game over the past five seasons and we expect him to continue to heat up as the campaign progresses.
May 17 - 1:44 AM

Kyle Seager hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to help the Mariners beat the A's 6-5 on Monday.

The homer upped the Mariners' lead from one to three runs, and the insurance proved necessary after a top of the ninth that featured five walks and two runs. It was just Seager's third homer in 130 at-bats this season, but all three of those have come in his last 15 games. He'll be a top-10 fantasy third baseman soon enough.
May 16 - 1:55 AM

Kyle Seager went 2-for-3 with a go-ahead solo home run in Sunday's win over the Rangers.

Seager rocked a go-ahead solo homer off Sam Dyson with one out in the eighth inning. That dinger boosted the Mariners to a 4-3 lead, one which they would hang onto through the final out. Seager has hit at least 20 homers in each of the last five seasons, but is off to a slow start with the power stroke in 2017. Sunday's home run was just his second of the season. On the whole, he is slashing .267/.361/.396 through 29 games played. No need to panic on the slow start, here, as Seager has proven to be one of the most consistent hitters in the game over the past few seasons. We expect those numbers to rise considerably as the weather warms.
May 7 - 8:00 PM

Kyle Seager hit his first home run of the season in Saturday's loss to the Indians.

Seager had managed 13 RBI through his first 21 games despite going homerless, and Saturday's blast was just a solo shot. Still, it's good that he finally broke through, hopefully opening the floodgates after he hit a career-high 30 homers last year. Overall, the 29-year-old is hitting .254/.360/.394.
Apr 29 - 8:49 PM

Kyle Seager doubled and scored the go-ahead run in the ninth as the Mariners edged the Tigers 2-1 on Thursday.

Seager also singled in the Mariners' first run of the game in the sixth inning. It was his first appearance in five days because of a sore hip.
Apr 27 - 5:55 PM

Kyle Seager (hip) is back in the Mariners' starting lineup on Thursday afternoon.

Seager wound up missing four games because of a sore hip. He is starting at third base and batting fifth Thursday versus Tigers right-hander Justin Verlander.
Apr 27 - 10:40 AM

Mariners manager Scott Servais expects Kyle Seager (hip) to return for Thursday's series finale against the Tigers.

Seager will miss his fourth straight game on Wednesday but should be ready to roll for Thursday's matinee. Hot-hitting Taylor Mottter will draw another start at third base on Wednesday night. Corey's older brother has hit .246 with no home runs and 12 RBI this season.
Apr 26 - 4:20 PM

Kyle Seager (hip) remains out of the Mariners' starting lineup on Wednesday.

Seager told reporters Tuesday that his hip feels fine and he tried to talk his way into the starting lineup Wednesday night, but manager Scott Servais will play it safe with his star third baseman. Taylor Motter is at the hot corner and batting fifth Wednesday versus the Tigers.
Apr 26 - 3:24 PM

Kyle Seager told reporters Tuesday that his hip feels fine.

Seager was scratched from Sunday's series finale against the A's with a sore hip and he won't start Tuesday night's series opener at Detroit, but it sounds like the third baseman will be available off the bench. Taylor Motter is filling in at the hot corner for Seattle on Tuesday with Jean Segura (hamstring) returning to shortstop.
Apr 25 - 3:49 PM

Kyle Seager (hip) is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Tigers.

Seager was scratched from Sunday's lineup with a sore hip and apparently still isn't back to 100 percent. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Apr 25 - 3:44 PM

Kyle Seager was scratched from the Mariners' lineup Sunday with a sore hip.

It's something that been bothering him for a few days, although Seager said he'd be available to pinch-hit so it looks like a minor issue. Mike Freeman will fill in at third base.
Apr 23 - 2:00 PM

Kyle Seager is absent from the Mariners' starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the Athletics.

Seager has played in each of the team's first 18 games of the season so he has earned a day off. Mike Freeman is starting at the hot corner and batting eighth against Jharel Cotton and the A's on Saturday.
Apr 22 - 1:06 PM

Kyle Seager went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and four total RBI in Wednesday's 10-5 win over the Marlins.

Seager drove in his runs in multiple fashions. First up, an RBI double in the third inning. He was immediately back at it in the fourth courtesy of a two-run single and capped off his afternoon's work by drawing a bases-loaded walk in the eighth inning. Seager is as consistent as they come on the whole, but is off to a bit of a slow start for the 2017 campaign. His two hits on Wednesday bumped his triple-slash up to .254/.364/.321 in 53 at-bats. He is still searching for his first home run after bopping 30 of them last season.
Apr 19 - 8:12 PM

Kyle Seager failed to get a hit in six plate appearances but he walked three times and drove in a run during an extra-inning loss to the Astros on Wednesday.

The final walk came with the bases loaded in the 13th inning, driving in what the Mariners hoped would be the winning run. The Astros dashed those hopes by scoring three runs of their own in the bottom of the frame. Seager is 1-for-8 so far but figures to be one of the best fantasy third basemen again this year. He batted .278/.359/.499 with 30 homers and 99 RBI in 2016.
