Rangers purchased the contract of RHP Nate Adcock from Triple-A Round Rock.

Adcock is taking the roster spot left vacant by Wednesday's Joakim Soria trade. The 26-year-old right-hander has posted a 2.76 ERA and 0.98 WHIP in 16 1/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level and will now pitch in a middle relief role for the Rangers.

Adcock pitched well in his first start for the Royals, but he was working today on seven days' rest and might have been a little rusty. Starting or relieving, he doesn't figure to be an asset in AL-only leagues this season.
