Adcock pitched well in his first start for the Royals, but he was working today on seven days' rest and might have been a little rusty. Starting or relieving, he doesn't figure to be an asset in AL-only leagues this season.

Making a spot start in place of Everett Teaford, Nate Adcock held the Diamondbacks to one run on five hits in five innings of Sunday's loss.

Adcock struck out three and walked one. It's unclear how long Teaford (abdominal) might be out, but Adcock should be in line for at least one more start. He'll get the Orioles in Baltimore next weekend.

The 26-year-old right-hander was originally hoping to rejoin the Diamondbacks' rotation around midseason, he's now likely facing another surgery and an additional year of recovery time. Just brutal.
