Diamondbacks signed OF Trayvon Robinson to a minor league contract.
Robinson signed a minor league deal with the Padres over the winter, but was given his release earlier this month and quickly latched on with the independent Long Island Ducks. However, he ultimately found a better opportunity. The 27-year-old hasn't appeared in the majors since 2012 and spent all of 2014 with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate. Tue, Apr 21, 2015 09:10:00 AM

Dodgers signed OF Trayvon Robinson to a minor league contract.

He seems likely to receive an invitation to spring training. A former Dodgers draft pick, Robinson spent all of 2013 between Double- and Triple-A with the Orioles, batting just .247/.329./394 but hitting 11 homers and stealing 21 bases. He'll represent organizational depth.

Orioles outfielder Trayvon Robinson has been demoted from Triple-A Norfolk to Double-A Bowie.

Robinson was batting just .220/.307/.333 in 52 games at the Triple-A level. The 25-year-old was once considered a decent prospect and even debuted with the Mariners at age 23, but he seems doubtful to make it back to the major leagues at any point in the near future.

Trayvon Robinson's back stiffened up again Wednesday after he took batting practice.

Unfazed by some odd managerial shenanigans, Trayvon Robinson hit his second spring homer Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Robinson and Nate McLouth alternated between left field and center field each inning today. Manager Buck Showalter said afterwards that it was because he wanted both to get used to playing the Green Monster at Fenway (the Red Sox's new spring training park has a Monster-like wall in left). Apparently just having Robinson and McLouth switch midway through the game would have been too easy.

Orioles sent OF Trayvon Robinson outright to Triple-A Norfolk.

Robinson was designated for assignment last week so the O's could clear a roster spot for Todd Redmond. Robinson has hit just .215/.272/.330 in the majors, but he was once regarded as a decent prospect.

Orioles designated OF Trayvon Robinson for assignment.

The move was made in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Todd Redmond, who was claimed off waivers. Robinson has a .215/.272/.330 batting line and a 104/22 K/BB ratio over his first 319 plate appearances in the majors. He's just 25 and has a pretty nice minor league track record, though, so he could receive interest from other clubs.

Orioles acquired OF Trayvon Robinson from the Mariners for INF Robert Andino.

Robinson, 25, has a .215/.272/.330 batting line and a 104/22 K/BB ratio over his first 319 plate appearances in the majors. While he has been a disappointment so far, the Orioles did well to get him in return for Robert Andino, who was a non-tender candidate.

Trayvon Robinson hit a solo home run in Friday's loss to the A's.

Robinson's second-inning shot off A.J. Griffin was his only hit in four trips to the plate. Robinson has homered just three times in 149 plate appearances, and is sporting a rough .214/.290/.328 slash. He's unlikely to be a big part of the Mariners' 2013 plans.

He also drew the first intentional walk of his major league career. With Michael Saunders sidelined because of a groin injury, Robinson has seen a sharp increase in playing time over the last week. He's now hitting .245 with two homers and eight RBI through his first 94 at-bats.
