Kristopher Negron went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's win over the Pirates.
Johnny Cueto's RBI single in the eighth put the Reds on top, and Negron provided a cushion with his two-run blast. The 28-year-old wound up playing regularly for the Reds down the stretch and ended up with a solid .271/.331/.479 batting line. He could have earned a utility job for next season. Kristopher Negron went 3-for-4 with an RBI single, accounting for the Reds' only run in Friday's loss to the Pirates.

Though hitting for average and getting on-base haven't exactly been his forte, Negron has put together a solid showing with the Reds for much of the second half. After Friday's effort, he's batting .250/.311/.441 with five home runs and 15 RBI in 149 plate appearances.

Kristopher Negron hit a solo homer and doubled Friday against the Brewers.

It was his first multi-hit game since August 15. Negron had some fleeting relevancy in deeper mixed leagues while filling in for Brandon Phillips, but he had just nine at-bats this month coming into Friday's action.

Kris Negron went 4-for-4 with a sac bunt and an RBI against the Rockies on Friday.

Negron now five multihit games in 11 starts this month, though he's gone hitless in the other six games. He's done nice work filling in for Brandon Phillips since joining the team last month, and he could see time at shortstop after Phillips returns.

Kris Negron went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, a double and three runs scored Wednesday against the Indians.

It's not every day the bottom of the Reds order wins a game for the team, but Negron and Zack Cozart combined for five hits, two homers and six RBI from the seventh and eighth spots today. Negron is hitting .282 with three homers in 39 at-bats since being called up July 10. He's taken on a bigger role of late, so he's worth an add in NL-only leagues.

Reds purchased the contract of UTIL Kristopher Negron from Triple-A Louisville.

Negron will add some needed depth and versatility to the Reds' bench with Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips, and Billy Hamilton all fighting injuries. Negron last appeared in the majors in 2012. The 28-year-old can play all around the diamond but isn't a great hitter.

Negron, 26, is a .247 hitter over seven seasons in the minors and was batting just .212/.291/.336 with five homers and a .627 OPS through 58 games this year. He'll add some versatility to the Reds' bench, but he can be ignored by fantasy owners.

Reds acquired SS Kristopher Negron from the Red Sox for SS Alex Gonzalez.

Negron, a 23-year-old infielder and seventh-round pick from 2006, has hit .264/.338/.347 in 409 at-bats for Single-A Salem this year. He's got some speed, swiping 20 bags in 23 attempts, but he has a lot to prove and projects as a backup infielder at best.
