He was sent down to make room for Scott Rolen's return from the disabled list. Negron went 1-for-4 in four games during his first taste of the big leagues.

Reds recalled INF/OF Kristopher Negron from Triple-A Louisville.

Negron, 26, is a .247 hitter over seven seasons in the minors and was batting just .212/.291/.336 with five homers and a .627 OPS through 58 games this year. He'll add some versatility to the Reds' bench, but he can be ignored by fantasy owners.

Kristopher Negron - OF - Reds

Reds acquired SS Kristopher Negron from the Red Sox for SS Alex Gonzalez.

Negron, a 23-year-old infielder and seventh-round pick from 2006, has hit .264/.338/.347 in 409 at-bats for Single-A Salem this year. He's got some speed, swiping 20 bags in 23 attempts, but he has a lot to prove and projects as a backup infielder at best.
