According to FOXSports.com, the Padres have placed LHP Justin Hampson and RHP Ivan Nova on outright waivers.

Nova, a Rule 5 pick, is likely on his way back to the Yankees. Hampson was supposed to have a bullpen spot, but he gave up 12 earned runs in 8 2/3 innings this spring. Obviously, that has to outweigh his 2.79 ERA in 84 innings over the last two regular seasons.
