Ondrusek had a sloppy outing Thursday against the A's, allowing one hit, two walks and a pair of runs. The 31-year-old was playing in Japan before he signed with Baltimore in late July. He holds a 3.92 ERA over 288 career big league appearances.

Logan Ondrusek has signed a one-year contract with the Tokyo Yakult Swallows of Nippon Professional Baseball.

Ondrusek will make $1.2 million in 2015 and Tokyo has a club option on him for 2016. The big right-hander's ERA was up the last two seasons with the Reds, but he struck out a batter per inning and holds a career 3.89 ERA. It's a tad surprising he didn't seem to receive more interest in the states, but he gets a nice little payday to head overseas.

LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that the Twins have shown interest in Logan Ondrusek.

Ondrusek was non-tendered by the Reds earlier this month, as they didn't want to pay him the over $2 million he was projected to earn in arbitration. The big right-hander is a solid middle reliever, however, with a career 3.89 ERA while striking out a batter per inning over the last two seasons.

MLBTradeRumors.com projected Ondrusek to earn $2.3 million in arbitration, and that was more than the Reds were willing to pay. It's no surprise after the big righty posted a 5.49 ERA over 40 appearances this past season.

Ondrusek wound up missing five weeks with a right shoulder strain. He will return to middle relief.

Logan Ondrusek (shoulder) threw a 34-pitch simulated game Tuesday.

"I felt strong, felt good and everything so far is pointing to me being healthy," Ondrusek said. "So as long as it stays like that, we'll be happy and ready to go." Ondrusek will begin a rehab assignment Friday before possibly being activated as soon as Saturday.

Logan Ondrusek (shoulder) will resume a throwing program on Monday.

Ondrusek has been out for a couple weeks with a strained right shoulder but is obviously feeling better. He should rejoin the Reds' bullpen before long if all goes well.

Curtis Partch will take his place in the Reds' bullpen. Ondrusek owns a 4.31 ERA and 29/13 K/BB ratio over 31 1/3 innings this season.
