LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that the Twins have shown interest in Logan Ondrusek.
Ondrusek was non-tendered by the Reds earlier this month, as they didn't want to pay him the over $2 million he was projected to earn in arbitration. Reds non-tendered RHP Logan Ondrusek. projected Ondrusek to earn $2.3 million in arbitration, and that was more than the Reds were willing to pay. It's no surprise after the big righty posted a 5.49 ERA over 40 appearances this past season.

Ondrusek wound up missing five weeks with a right shoulder strain. He will return to middle relief.

"I felt strong, felt good and everything so far is pointing to me being healthy," Ondrusek said. "So as long as it stays like that, we'll be happy and ready to go." Ondrusek will begin a rehab assignment Friday before possibly being activated as soon as Saturday.

Ondrusek has been out for a couple weeks with a strained right shoulder but is obviously feeling better. He should rejoin the Reds' bullpen before long if all goes well.

Curtis Partch will take his place in the Reds' bullpen. Ondrusek owns a 4.31 ERA and 29/13 K/BB ratio over 31 1/3 innings this season.

He'll replace Sean Marshall (shoulder) on the active roster. Ondrusek didn't make the Opening Day roster despite a 3.45 ERA since the start of 2010, but he should do fine in middle relief.

Ondrusek has posted a 3.45 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 174 2/3 innings since the beginning of 2010, but he failed to win a roster spot after a horrible spring that saw him put up a 7.94 ERA. The big righty figures to get a chance with the Reds at some point this season, though.

Reds avoided arbitration with RHP Logan Ondrusek by agreeing to a two-year, $2.3 million contract.

The deal will cover Ondrusek's first two seasons of arbitration eligibility. He's a Super Two qualifier, so he'll have two more arbitration years left once it's through. The 27-year-old right-hander owns a 3.45 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 174 2/3 innings since the beginning of 2010.

The Reds are recalling Didi Gregorius, Denis Phipps and Henry Rodriguez in their first round of September callups. Devin Mesoraco will be activated Sunday, while Pedro Villarreal and Todd Redmond will be promoted Tuesday.

He was sent down in order to make room for Dioner Navarro on the roster. Ondrusek has a solid 3.50 ERA in 53 appearances this year, but he has allowed five runs over 6 2/3 innings this month. He should return when rosters expand in September.

Logan Ondrusek gave up his first five runs of the season in a loss to the Mets on Thursday.

Aroldis Chapman also allowed his first run, though in his case it was unearned. Ondrusek had pitched 15 1/3 scoreless innings this season before getting lit up today. Even after allowing five runs, his ERA stands at 2.76.

Logan Ondrusek has been nursing a sore back but was able to appear in Saturday's game.

He recorded one out and walked a batter in the appearance. "He’s getting better daily," Reds manager Dusty Baker said. "We tried to stay away from him (Thursday), which we were able to do. I haven’t heard from my trainers. No news is good news."
