Neil Wagner (forearm) has resumed throwing.
Wagner was shut down for about a month after being diagnosed with a right forearm strain. That injury often leads to Tommy John surgery, but he paid a visit to Dr. James Andrews in June and was prescribed rest. The right-hander could again be an option for the Blue Jays' bullpen at some point later this season. Jul 2 - 5:25 PM

Dr. James Andrews examined Neil Wagner's sore right forearm earlier this week and recommended rest.

Wagner has been diagnosed with a forearm strain -- an injury that often leads to Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery. But the hope for now is that he'll be able to avoid that procedure and the 12-15 month recovery process that comes with it. Wagner had allowed nine earned runs in 10 innings this season for Toronto. He was a valuable middle reliever in 2013.
