Padres sent RHP Neil Wagner outright to Triple-A Tucson.

Wagner was designated for assignment by the Friars last week and passed through waivers without attracting any interest. He has a 5.17 ERA this year in the minors.

Padres designated RHP Neil Wagner for assignment.

The move clears a spot for the newly-claimed Thad Weber on the 40-man roster. Wagner, who was claimed off waivers from the A's in May, has an ugly 5.17 ERA and 30/15 K/BB ratio over 38 1/3 innings with Triple-A Tucson this year. There's a chance he could pass through waivers unclaimed.

Padres claimed RHP Neil Wagner off waivers from the Athletics; assigned him to Triple-A Tucson.

Wagner was waived by the A's after registering a 5.49 ERA and 1.32 WHIP across 19 2/3 innings at the Triple-A level. The 28-year-old right-hander is doubtful to suddenly find success in the San Diego system.

Athletics optioned RHP Neil Wagner to Triple-A Sacramento.

A short lived stay for Wagner with the big club, he was sent back down in order to clear a roster spot for Rich Thompson who was claimed off waivers. He'll continue to serve as bullpen depth in Triple-A and will likely be back in Oakland before the end of the season.

Wagner will presumably function as a middle reliever for Oakland. The right-hander was rocking an 8/0 K/BB ratio in 5 1/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level.

Wagner, 27, had a 3.26 ERA and 87/23 K/BB ratio this season between Double-A Midland and Triple-A Sacramento. He should remain with the A's through the end of the season.

Updating a previous item, the Athletics have not called up Neil Wagner from Triple-A Sacramento.

Wagner was on the original lineup card, but Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that he is no longer listed. The A's must wait until Jerry Blevins clears waivers before adding him to the 40-man roster, so a move will likely be made Tuesday.

The Athletics haven't announced a corresponding roster move yet, but Graham Godfrey is expected to be sent back to the minors. Wagner, 27, posted a 3.26 ERA and 87/23 K/BB ratio this season between Double-A Midland and Triple-A Sacramento. He'll pitch in middle relief.

The A's are expected to promote Neil Wagner from Triple-A Sacramento before Tuesday's game.

Wagner has posted a cool 3.10 ERA and 34/10 K/BB ratio in 29 innings of relief this year at Sacramento. The 27-year-old right-hander will be making his major league debut and should do well in a middle relief role.

He's feeling good physically, but the right-hander obviously needs to build up his stamina. He'll rejoin the rotation in early June if he can avoid a setback. May 21

	6	Dustin McGowan D.L. Dustin McGowan (shoulder) will continue his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo. McGowan allowed one hit and one walk over two scoreless innings with High-A Dunedin and notched four strikeouts. The Blue Jays can't count on him given his lengthy injury history, but he could be an option to join the bullpen later this month if all goes well. May 17
	7	Drew Hutchison D.L. Drew Hutchison (elbow) is on track to face live hitters in about three weeks. Hutchison is currently making his way back from Tommy John surgery last August. While the 22-year-old right-hander is unlikely to see any game action until late in the season, he feels good about his progress. "You always want to do more but you know you have to follow the process and do what they tell you to do because that’s what’s in your best interest," said Hutchison. "I feel good, which is good, but you also realize that it’s the process and you need to follow the process." May 8
	8	Kyle Drabek D.L. Kyle Drabek (elbow) expects to throw live batting practice in the next week or two. Drabek threw a bullpen session Monday in extended spring training. He's coming back from the second Tommy John surgery of his career, so the Blue Jays figure to take things slow, but he could be looking at a return around midseason if all goes well. May 8
