Red Sox designated INF/OF Chase d'Arnaud for assignment.

The Red Sox already moved Steven Wright to the 60-day DL to accommodate tonight's starter Hector Velazquez, so this gives them an extra spot on their 40-man roster. D'Arnaud made just two appearances for the Red Sox after being claimed off waivers from Atlanta last month. The Red Sox can assign him to Triple-A if he clears waivers.

Red Sox claimed INF Chase d'Arnaud off waivers from the Braves.

He was designated for assignment by Atlanta on Tuesday. The 30-year-old infielder holds a weak .231/.288/.312 career batting line at the major league level.

Braves designated INF Chase d'Arnaud for assignment.

He gets the boot to make room for Lane Adams on the active roster. D'Arnaud has been used sparingly in the early part of the season and batted just .245/.317/.335 over 262 plate appearances last season. He could potentially pass through waivers, though his versatility could draw some interest from other clubs.

Chase d'Arnaud (bronchitis) took live batting practice on Sunday and felt fine.

And d'Arnaud is on the travel roster for the Braves' Grapefruit League game Tuesday against the Phillies. He was out several days due to bronchitis and the flu.
Mar 13 - 9:37 AM

Chase d'Arnaud has been diagnosed with bronchitis.

The infielder had just recovered from the flu and will now be held out of workouts for another few days. The illnesses should not affect his readiness for the opening of the 2017 regular season, but d'Arnaud is not guaranteed a spot on the Braves' major league roster.
Mar 9 - 4:38 PM

Chase d'Arnaud has been kept away from the Braves for the past couple of days as he has been dealing with a flu bug.

The team wanted to keep him away from his teammates to avoid spreading the illness, which seems like a smart move on their part. The veteran infielder is looking to secure a bench spot on the Opening Day roster this spring.
Mar 3 - 8:13 PM

Chase d'Arnaud took reps at first base on Saturday.

Utility man Sean Rodriguez was slated to back up Freddie Freeman at first base in addition to playing second base against left-handed pitchers, but now he's likely out for the season after injuring his shoulder in a car accident. D'Arnaud claims he hasn't played first since Little League but is willing to give it a shot with Rodriguez sidelined indefinitely. Nick Markakis, who has started five career games at first base, will also get reps there this spring.
Feb 18 - 5:55 PM

Chase d'Arnaud went 2-for-5, scored a run and drove in three in a loss to the Nationals on Saturday.

He drove in a run with a fielder's choice groundout in the second inning, then drove in two with a single in the ninth inning. It was a rare productive night for the infielder. He has gotten 238 at-bats in 71 games and is batting .255 but has accumulated only one home run, 18 RBI and 21 runs. His nine stolen bases are the only semi-attractive item on his fantasy resume.

Chase d'Arnaud hit a walk-off RBI single to finish off Sunday's 1-0 win over the Rockies.

Rockies reliever Gonzalez Germen served as catalyst for a disastrous ninth. To start, he surrendered a leadoff single to Ender Inciarte. That was followed by an Anthony Recker sacrifice, a Germen wild pitch which allowed Inciarte to reach third, a Gordon Beckham pop out and a walk to Jace Peterson. At which point d'Arnaud stepped to the plate, at which point RBI single, at which point game over. d'Arnaud offers little in the way of fantasy gold with his .263/.335/.365 triple-slash, but the poor Braves deserve a little sunshine every now and then and he provided that well enough on Sunday.

Chase d'Arnaud went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base in the Braves' 8-5 win over the Marlins on Thursday.

D'Arnaud scored the first run of the game for the Braves in the third inning, motoring around from first base on Freddie Freeman's triple, and he added RBI hits in the sixth and eighth innings. The 29-year-old, who has played five different positions for the Braves this year, is batting a respectable .276/.349/.366 in 42 games. He's not much to look at, but those in deep NL-only leagues may want to take notice.

Chase d'Arnaud went 3-for-5 with an RBI against the Padres on Monday.

Well, we know who the Braves' All-Star rep is going to be. Whether he's at second or short, d'Arnaud has been a fixture in the lineup lately, spending the last five games batting second ahead of Freddie Freeman. He's hitting .333, and he finally notched his first RBI tonight; he had been without one in his first 70 at-bats this year.

Chase d'Arnaud was scratched from the Braves starting lineup on Saturday.

There is no injury involved, but d'Arnaud was involved in a minor car accident on the way to the ballpark on Saturday and the club decided to give him a day off after the ordeal. He should return to the lineup on Sunday.

Chase d'Arnaud went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and a stolen base in Wednesday's victory over the Pirates.

The 29-year-old infielder has found some success with the Braves, since being called up from Triple-A Gwinnett earlier this month. He's hitting .320/.393/.480 and stole his first base of the season. He remains an uninteresting utility bat for the Braves for now, but could become useful in NL-only leagues if he swipes a few more bags this month.

Braves purchased the contract of INF Chase d'Arnaud from Triple-A Gwinnett.

The 29-year-old infielder was hitting just .255/.300/.372 at Triple-A. He may get some playing time for the battered, rebuilding Braves, but it's doubtful d'Arnaud will be able to hold any kind of fantasy relevance.
