Yankees sent INF Corban Joseph outright to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster. Joseph had a cup of coffee with the Yankees in 2013 and hit just .239 with a .712 OPS in 188 at-bats at Triple-A. The 25-year-old suffered an undisclosed injury that ultimately ended his season and limited him to just 47 games at the minor league level. Wed, Nov 20, 2013 08:59:00 PM

Yankees purchased the contract of 2B Corban Joseph from Double-A Trenton.

Joseph, 23, hit .277/.353/.415 with five homers and 58 RBI over 499 at-bats for Trenton this season. The former fourth-round pick is below average defensively and hasn't progressed much with the bat, but the Yankees are still holding out hope that he'll be a useful piece of the roster eventually.
