Domingo Santana hit his 10th home run of the season in Saturday's loss to the Reds.
The Brewers had just six hits and only two extra-base hits against Dan Straily and company, with Santana's solo shot off Straily in the second inning turning out to be the only run the Brewers could push across in the loss. Santana now has 10 homers in 70 games this season, with six of those coming since he was activated from the disabled list on August 19 after missing almost two months with an elbow injury. A healthy Santana should contend for a starting spot in the Brewers' outfield in 2017. Sun, Sep 25, 2016 12:48:00 AM

Domingo Santana went 2-for-4 and pounded a three-run homer against the Reds on Wednesday.

The home run came off reliever Ross Ohlendorf but it still counts. He hit it in the eighth inning to bury any hopes the Reds may have had for a comeback. Santana missed a lot of time due to a bum elbow this year. He has hit well when given the chance, slashing .255/.355/.435 with eight home runs in 184 at-bats. The 23-year-old is a huge guy with big power but has hit for nice batting averages in the minors as well.

Domingo Santana went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's lopsided win over the Cubs.

Santana had a two-run single as part of the Brewers' five-run first inning. The three-hit effort was his second in a row, and Santana is now 11-for-35 with two homers, six RBI and seven runs scored since returning from a right elbow injury that has limited him to 55 games this year. The 24-year-old is hitting .252/.356/.417 in those 55 games.

Domingo Santana went 3-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs and three runs scored in Sunday's 10-0 win over the Pirates.

Lovely work by Santana, who socked a solo home run in the second to open the game's scoring and launched another solo dinger in the ninth to close it. An elbow injury suffered in mid-June took around two months to heal and robbed the 24-year-old outfielder of a solid chunk of at-bats. He is slashing .241/.349/.411 with six homers and 17 RBI over 54 games.

Brewers activated OF Domingo Santana from the 15-day disabled list.

Santana is right back in the Brewers starting lineup, batting sixth and playing right field on Friday. The 24-year-old outfielder has an intriguing blend of power and speed, but was hitting just .234/.347/.391 with four homers in 128 big league at-bats this season. He should see regular playing time the rest of the way and could be worth a look in deeper mixed leagues.

Domingo Santana (elbow) has moved his rehab assignment from Low-A Wisconsin to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

That's the final step before he returns to the Brewers' active roster. Santana was 4-for-23 (.174) in eight games with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, but his elbow is discomfort-free and the 24-year-old outfielder has the ability to make a positive fantasy impact down the stretch in Milwaukee. He was batting .234/.347/.391 with four home runs through 128 at-bats this season with the Brewers.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Saturday that Domingo Santana (elbow) will "probably need 20 to 30 at-bats" on his rehab assignment.

He's at 13 at-bats so far after resuming a rehab assignment a week ago. Santana, who homered for Low-A Wisconsin on Saturday, has had some setbacks after going on the disabled list in mid-June with a sore right elbow. "He’s just in the playing stage," Counsell said. "He’s been feeling fine. He just needs to play. He needs at-bats. He has missed 2 ½ months. He’ll probably need 20 to 30 at-bats. It’s like spring training for him, really."

Domingo Santana (elbow) is slated to resume a rehab assignment later this week.

Santana had a setback with his right elbow/forearm injury a couple weeks ago but has experienced improvement recently. "A lot (of progress)," Santana said. "We were doing a couple of exercises that were really bothering it. We got together and talked and eased down on the exercises to see if it doesn’t get as tight. It’s been a lot better and a lot looser, so we’re going to try it again." There's no timetable for Santana's return, and we'll have to wait and see how the elbow responds to game action. Still, this is obviously welcomed news in what has been an injury-plagued season for the young outfielder.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Monday that Domingo Santana had a "big setback" with his right elbow.

Santana was scratched from a rehab game on Monday after feeling continued soreness in his elbow. He'll be shut down for now, but suddenly his ability contribute at all in the second half is in question. Santana has been sidelined since June 7.

Domingo Santana (elbow) was scratched from a rehab game Monday at Low-A Wisconsin.

Santana is still experiencing tenderness in his right elbow and forearm, which obviously isn't a great sign. He's been on the disabled list since June 10.

Domingo Santana (elbow) began a rehab assignment with Low-A Wisconsin on Saturday.

Santana has been on the shelf since June 10 with right elbow soreness. He's likely to need at least a week or so worth of game action before being activated.

Domingo Santana (elbow) is aiming to begin a minor league rehab assignment in a week or so.

Santana has resumed baseball activities after a lengthy shutdown period. The young outfielder was placed on the disabled list June 10 with right elbow soreness and will continue to be eased back into action. We wouldn't expect to see him before mid-August or so.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday that Domingo Santana (elbow) is "not making much progress."

Counsell added that it's "doubtful" the outfielder will make it back before the All-Star break. "He's not on the field yet for throwing activities," the skipper said. "So, I don't think he'll make it before the All-Star break." Santana has played in only 40 games this season due to a sore shoulder and now a sore elbow. "We're not making much progress, I guess, which is frustrating for Domingo," Counsell said. "You've got to get him pain-free before we head him to the next step. Diagnostically, we feel like we've done everything that needs to be done. It's just in the healing stage. There's nothing that needs to be done. Just rest and therapy. We're trying to get him to progress to the point of plyometric exercises inside, then you start throwing."

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Friday that Domingo Santana (elbow) has seen little improvement and will likely be sidelined through the All-Star break.

Santana has been limited to just 18 games since the beginning of May due to a shoulder and more recently an elbow issue. He's already missed two weeks in his current disabled list stint and it doesn't appear he's close to resuming baseball activities, let alone make a return. In addition to the injuries, Santana sports a pretty disappointing .234/.347/.391 batting line this season.

Brewers placed Domingo Santana on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow soreness.

Santana missed two weeks with a right shoulder strain before being activated from the disabled list on June 3. Now, back to the disabled list after just one healthy week, this time with an elbow issue. Ramon Flores and Alex Presley figure to receive the bulk of the right field at-bats in the 23-year-old's absence.
