He missed the first two games of the series against the Orioles but could be in the lineup against Miguel Gonzalez on Sunday. Krauss has two hits in 18 at-bats since joining the Tigers.
Jul 19 - 8:19 AM

Marc Krauss will rejoin the Tigers on Sunday.

Krauss was placed on the paternity leave list late Thursday. The 27-year-old has two hits in 18 plate appearances for the Tigers since being claimed off waivers from the Rays in early July. He began the 2015 season as a member of the Angels.

Tigers placed 1B Marc Krauss on the paternity leave list.

He'll be away from the team for a day or two to attend the birth of his child. In a corresponding move, Dixon Machado has been recalled from Triple-A Toledo to take his place on the Tigers bench.
Jul 16 - 10:40 PM

Tigers claimed 1B Marc Krauss off waivers from the Rays.

Krauss was DFA'ed on July 4 after being optioned to Triple-A earlier in the week. He struck out seven times in 10 at-bats in (very) limited duty for the Rays. Kraus is just a .192 hitter for his career at the big league level over the last three seasons.
Jul 6 - 3:25 PM

Rays designated 1B Marc Krauss for assignment.

The first baseman was optioned to Triple-A earlier in the week after going just 1-for-10 with seven strikeouts in his limited time with the Rays. There's a chance that he could attract some interest on waivers.
Jul 4 - 9:00 AM

Rays optioned 1B Marc Krauss to Triple-A Durham.

Krauss was 1-for-10 with seven strikeouts in four games with the Rays since being acquired from the Angels on June 25. He was optioned to make room for Matt Moore on the active roster.
Jul 1 - 10:06 PM

Marc Krauss struck out in both of his at-bats Wednesday before being removed for a pinch-hitter.

Incredibly, it's the second time in four games for the Rays that Krauss, a left-handed hitter, has been replaced by a right-handed pinch-hitter against a right-handed pitcher. Which makes one wonder why the Rays are playing him at first base or why they bothered acquiring him in the first place. He's 1-for-10 so far for the team.
Jul 1 - 9:53 PM

Marc Krauss had an RBI double in Friday's loss to the Red Sox.

Krauss was playing his first game with the Rays after being acquired from the Angels on Thursday. The 27-year-old should see part-time duty at first base until James Loney (finger) is ready to return from the disabled list. There's some pop in his bat, but it's hard to recommend him outside of deeper AL-only formats. He came into Friday's action with a .194/.268/.335 batting line in the majors.
Jun 26 - 11:02 PM

Rays acquired 1B Marc Krauss from the Angels for Kyle Winkler.

The 27-year-old slugger struggled in his brief time with the Angels, but was hitting .289/.415/.453 with four homers and 29 RBI in 47 games at Triple-A Salt Lake. He should handle first base regularly until James Loney (finger) returns, making him worth an add in AL-only formats.
Jun 25 - 7:23 PM

Angels designated 1B Marc Krauss for assignment.

Krauss hit just .143/.211/.286 during his brief time with the Angels before he was sent down in favor or Kirk Nieuwenhuis. He could attract some interest on waivers.
May 28 - 6:08 PM

Angels optioned 1B Marc Krauss to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Krauss had a couple of timely hits in his two-week stay with the Halos, but he ultimately posted a disappointing .143/.211/.286 overall batting line. This move clears a roster spot for outfielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis, who was acquired from the Mets on Wednesday.
May 28 - 8:51 AM

Mark Krauss helped the Angels take a late lead and an eventual win with a two-run double on Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

First baseman Albert Pujols had to leave the game after he was hit on the wrist by a pitch, so Krauss replaced him at first base. He turned a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 lead when he hit a seventh-inning double to plate two runs off of Steve Delabar. Krauss had been 1-for-13 since his promotion on May 12.
May 20 - 9:50 PM

Angels purchased the contract of 1B Marc Krauss from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Krauss was hitting .281/.405/.458 with two home runs and 17 RBI in 116 plate appearances at Triple-A. The 27-year-old will serve as a bench bat for the Angels.
