Astros recalled 1B Marc Krauss from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Krauss batted just .173 with a .581 OPS in 39 games with the Astros earlier this season. The 26-year-old is doubtful to hold fantasy relevance in his second look. Jul 23 - 4:33 PM

Astros optioned 1B Marc Krauss to Triple-A Oklahoma.

With Houston's promotion of Jon Singleton on Monday, Krauss was no longer needed. Prior to the demotion, Krauss was hitting a mere .173/.272/.309.
Jun 2 - 6:55 PM

Marc Krauss went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Mariners on Sunday.

The home run, off Mariners starter Hisashi Iwakuma in the seventh inning, gave the Astros a 4-1 lead and they won by the same score. The homer was his fourth of the season. Despite the occasional blast, the first baseman is batting an unsightly .190/.289/.340 on the year.
May 25 - 7:50 PM

Marc Krauss went 2-for-4 and hit his first homer of the season Wednesday against the Royals.

Since George Springer wasn't on the 40-man roster, the Astros could call him up today and not have him be eligible for free agency until after 2020. Jonathan Singleton, on the other hand, is on the 40-man and thus would still be eligible for free agency after 2019 if he were called up immediately. Singleton's timetable can be pushed back a year starting next week, and unless Krauss can come up with a few more big hits before then, he might be in danger of losing his spot.
Apr 17 - 1:02 AM

Marc Krauss collected his first two hits of the season Wednesday in the loss to the Blue Jays.

Both hits were singles, but he'll certainly take them after his 0-for-14 start. Krauss is currently starting at first base against right-handers for Houston, giving him a smidgen of value in AL-only leagues. We don't like him nearly as much as the Astros seem to.
Apr 10 - 12:07 AM

Marc Krauss went 2-for-4 with a homer in the Astros' 4-0 shutout of the Marlins on Monday.

The 26-year-old Krauss is 5-for-9 this spring as he competes for playing time at first base and in the outfield. He didn't really impress in the majors last season, hitting .209/.267/.366 with 45 strikeouts in 134 at-bats, but the Astros seem to like him, and he might well be in the lineup somewhere on Opening Day.
Mar 3 - 4:13 PM

Marc Krauss' solo homer amounted to all of Houston's offense in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Angels.

The blast to right field in the second inning off Jerome Williams tied the game at 1-1, but Houston's bats went quiet after that. Krauss doesn't play enough to warrant fantasy attention outside of deeper AL-only formats. The 25-year-old had a nice season at Triple-A but is slashing only .200/.241/.362 with four homers and 13 RBI over 42 games in the majors.

Astros recalled OF Marc Krauss from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Krauss appeared in 32 games with the Astros earlier this season. He slashed .169/.207/.325 before a demotion last month. He'll function as a reserve outfielder.

Astros optioned OF Marc Krauss to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Krauss appeared in 32 games with the Astros as a fourth outfielder. He returns to a .277/.393/.488 batting line at the Triple-A level.

Mark Krauss went 2-for-4 with a home run and a career-high four RBI against the Blue Jays on Friday.

Krauss entered Friday's action with just four RBI over his first 40 major league at-bats, but he took R.A. Dickey deep for a two-run homer in the top of the second inning and later delivered a two-run double in the fourth. The 25-year-old doesn't have a significant role with the Astros, but he could play himself into increased playing time with more nights like this one.

Astros purchased the contract of OF/1B Marc Krauss from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

A former second-round pick, Krauss has batted .277/.393/.488 with nine homers and 35 RBI at Oklahoma City this season. The 25-year-old will be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.

Astros acquired OF Marc Krauss from the Diamondbacks.

He came along with Bobby Borchering in the Chris Johnson deal. Krauss put up a nice .283/.416/.509 batting line with 15 homers for Double-A Mobile, but he's 24 and was repeating the level. He profiles as a possible platoon player down the line for the Astros.
