Christian Colon went 3-for-4 with a double and a steal Thursday in the Royals' 7-3 victory over the A's.
Of course, even Christian Colon is contributing as the Royals take three out of four from baseball's best team. Colon went eight straight days without playing from Aug. 4-11, so, dating back to Aug. 2, his last five appearances have all come against Oakland, and he's gone 6-for-14 in those five games. The steal was his first as a major leaguer. His start today came at second base, but the Royals will primarily use him at third base against left-handers going forward. Aug 14 - 5:46 PM

Royals recalled INF Christian Colon from Triple-A Omaha.

Colon was up for a cup of coffee earlier this month, picking up four hits in 12 at-bats. He can play all over the infield and should see some starts at third base against left-handed pitching.
Jul 28 - 7:26 PM

Royals prospect INF Christian Colon went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs on Thursday for Triple-A Omaha.

He also tallied three RBI and scored two runs. The game was Colon's second since returning from a brief stint in the major leagues, where he batted .333 with three extra-base hits in six games. On the season, the 25-year-old has batted .297/.358/.403 with 20 extra-base hits (six home runs), 50 runs scored and 14 stolen bases in 76 games at Triple-A. He's likely to return to the major leagues at some point during the second half of the season.

Royals optioned INF Christian Colon to Triple-A Omaha.

Colon picked up four hits over 12 at-bats in his couple weeks with the big club. Nori Aoki has returned from the DL to take Colon's roster spot.
Jul 11 - 3:34 PM

Christian Colon had a big night at the plate in Friday's win over the Indians, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, three runs scored and an RBI.

The rookie infielder got the start at second base in place of the injured Omar Infante, and if he continues to swing the bat well he'll continue to find his way into the lineup on a regular basis.

Royals recalled INF Christian Colon from Triple-A Omaha.

Colon has batted .296/.360/.384 with four home runs and 14 stolen bases in 74 games this season at the Triple-A level. The 25-year-old former fourth overall draft pick can play all around the infield defensively.
Jun 30 - 1:37 PM

Royals prospect Christian Colon went 3-for-6 with two doubles and a home run on Friday for Triple-A Omaha.

Colon is hitting .286/.348/.384 for the season, but has gone 7-for-16 with four walks, two doubles, and a home run while playing third base. With the struggles of Mike Moustakas, the Royals could be seeing if the former 4th overall pick could be their third baseman of the future.
Jun 14 - 11:02 AM

Royals second base prospect Christian Colon could be called up if Omar Infante needs to go on the disabled list.

Infante's injury may not require a trip to the disabled list, but if it does Colon could make his major league debut. His only competition is Johnny Giavotella, who has repeatedly struggled during his time in the major leagues. Colon is hitting .235/.316/.353 in Triple-A, but the 2010 first-round pick hit .296/.367/.370 during spring training in 2014.
Apr 8 - 11:36 AM

Royals optioned INF Christian Colon, C Francisco Pena and RHP Michael Mariot to Triple-A Omaha.

Of the trio, only Colon had a legitimate shot at cracking the Opening Day roster. He should get an opportunity with the Royals at some point during the 2014 season.
Mar 14 - 9:12 PM

Christian Colon went 2-for-3 and drove home a pair of runs in a losing effort against the Brewers in Cactus League play on Saturday.

Colon also doubled and scored a run in the game. The 24-year-old infielder has already proven himself at Triple-A Omaha, and with a strong showing this spring could win a bench spot on the Royals Opening day roster.
Mar 8 - 9:14 PM

Royals purchased the contract of INF Christian Colon from Triple-A Omaha.

Colon batted .273/.335/.379 with 12 home runs and 15 stolen bases in 131 games this year at Triple-A. The 24-year-old infielder is now on Kansas City's 40-man roster.

Royals reassigned INFs Christian Colon, Anthony Seratelli and Brandon Wood, C Adam Moore and OF Willy Taveras to minor league camp.

No surprises in this bunch. Colon hasn't lived up to the hype attached to being the No. 4 overall pick in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft. The 23-year-old owns a .275/.341/.372 batting line over his first three pro seasons and may end up as a utility infielder in the long run.

Royals shortstop prospect Christian Colon is expected to miss the remainder of the season after being hit in the face with a foul ball last week.

Colon was injured by his own foul ball last Monday in a game for Triple-A Omaha. The fourth overall pick in 2010, he'll finish the season with a .301/.376/.413 batting line with six homers and 13 steals.

The Royals have promoted prospect shortstop Christian Colon to Triple-A Omaha.

Colon, the fourth overall pick in 2010, was hitting .289/.364/.392 with five home runs, 27 RBI, 12 stolen bases and a .756 OPS in 73 games with Double-A Northwest Arkansas this season. The 23-year-old now has a .707 OPS in 1,181 plate appearances in the pros. While he has been a bit of a disappointment as a prospect, he could still end up as the Royals' second baseman or a utility man in the long haul.
Tue, Aug 7, 2012 11:26:00 AM

2010 first-round pick Christian Colon went 2-for-4 with a homer Thursday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

Colon made his pro debut last year at high-A Wilmington, so it's no surprise to see the Royals staying aggressive and pushing him up to Double-A for his first full season. He might be the team's second baseman next year.
