Machado, Jonathan Schoop, Chris Davis, Steve Pearce and Ryan Flaherty all homered for Baltimore. Machado has as many homers in 497 at-bats this year as he did in 994 at-bats between 2013 and 2014. He has as good of a claim as anyone on the title of AL's third-best player this year.

Manny Machado blasted a walk-off two-run homer in the 13th inning on Friday, propelling the Orioles to a come-from-behind 8-6 victory over the visiting Athletics.

The Orioles fell behind 4-0 early in this one, but chipped away in the middle innings with a three-run homer from Adam Jones and two-run shot from Chris Davis. Machado came through with the decisive blow though, depositing a Drew Pomeranz offering deep into the seats in left field to send the O's faithful home happy. He finished the night 2-for-6 plus a walk and scored a pair of runs in the game and is now slashing a robust .298/.364/.520 with 25 homers and 59 RBI.

Manny Machado went 4-for-5 with a home run in the Orioles' 5-0 blanking of the Angels on Saturday.

Machado grounded out in his first at-bat, but he rattled off three singles and a solo home run over his next four trips to the plate. The 23-year-old third baseman continues to emerge as one of the best all-around players in the game, now with a .300/.367/.525 batting line, 24 home runs, 57 RBI, and 70 runs scored in 109 games this season.

Manny Machado homered for the second game in a row Saturday in a win over the Tigers.

He's hit .381 with four RBI over his five-game hitting streak. Among big league third basemen, Machado is fourth in slugging percentage (.525) and second in OPS (.890). The 23-year-old has emerged as a legitimate MVP candidate and is a big reason why the Orioles are only a half-game behind Minnesota in the AL Wild Card Race.

Manny Machado remained scorching hot on Saturday, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI as he led the Orioles to a 5-3 victory over the Blue Jays.

Machado led off the game with a double and came around to score the O's first run in the first inning. He singled and worked his way around the bases again in the sixth to give tie the game at 2-2. The big blow came in the ninth inning where his two-run double made a 3-2 game a 5-2 advantage, and proved to be the difference. The 22-year-old is having an outstanding season, slashing .298/.355/.519 with 14 homers, 36 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
