Manny Machado went 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored twice on Saturday versus the Twins.

He laced a double to left field that scored Joey Rickard in the sixth inning. Machado is hitting for plenty of power this year but his batting average and on-base percentage have left his fantasy owners very disappointed considering where they drafted him. He is slashing .228/.294/.446 with 18 homers and 46 RBI. He didn't steal a single base last year but has swiped four bags so far in 2017.

Manny Machado finished 4-for-5 with two homers and four RBI in Friday's loss to the Twins.

Machado and the Orioles seemed headed for an easy win after the 25-year-old hit a solo shot in the first inning and belted a three-run homer in the third. The win didn't come, but it didn't stop Machado from continuing to hit, grabbing a pair of singles as the game went on. Even in a disappointing year to date, Machado continues to be a threat every time he steps to the plate. The third baseman is hitting .224/.290/.442 with 18 homers and 45 RBI on the season.

Manny Machado went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's win over the Rays.

With one run already home in the third inning, Machado smashed a three-run homer off Alex Cobb to give the O's a 4-0 lead. They would cruise to victory from there. This was the third baseman's first homer since he clubbed two of them against the Indians on June 20. He has struggled to a .217/.288/.428 triple-slash with 16 homers and 41 RBI in 76 games. The counting stats are decent enough (if relatively unremarkable), but that batting line is a far cry from his career .277/.328/.471 career mark.
Jul 2 - 4:34 PM

Manny Machado went 4-for-4 with two homers, a double and four RBI to lead the Orioles to a 6-5 win over the Indians on Tuesday.

Machado thought he had a three-homer game, but his double off Bryan Shaw in the seventh hit off the wall. He didn't run out of the box, possibly costing himself a triple in what had been a tie game. Fortunately for the Orioles, Adam Jones followed with an RBI double, breaking the tie. Hopefully, this was the breakout game Machado owners have been waiting months for. It's the first time all year that he's had multiple homers, four hits, four RBI or three runs scored.

Manny Machado (wrist) is back in the Orioles' lineup Monday.

Machado missed the last four games with a strained left wrist, but he did some hitting Sunday and is feeling well enough to give it a go Monday. He's at third base and batting third against Mike Pelfrey and the White Sox.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: The match-up with Mike Pelfrey will likely lead to the Orioles being popular in GPPs, but Pelfrey has actually been solid against RHBs (-7.3 Hd-Sft%, 0.72 HR/9). The lefties here are still in play, but this will likely turn into a bullpen game for Chicago after Pelfrey gets through the lineup twice which adds some risk to rostering a guy like Seth Smith. If you're looking for a suitable pivot off the Orioles, the Twins RH bats are in a much better spot against Yovani Gallardo, who has exhibited some reverse splits this season.

Manny Machado (wrist) hit off a tee on Sunday.

He's set to take batting practice on Monday and could return to the starting lineup that night if all goes well. Machado has missed Baltimore's last four games while nursing a strained left wrist. The Orioles have lost all four games during that span.
Jun 11 - 5:55 PM

Manny Machado (wrist) remained out of the Orioles' lineup Sunday.

Manager Buck Showalter said Saturday that he expects Machado to avoid the disabled list, but the third baseman will miss a fourth straight start Sunday. He will try to hit and throw before the game. Ruben Tejada is at the hot corner Sunday.
Jun 11 - 11:22 AM

Orioles manager Buck Showalter confirmed that he expects Manny Machado (wrist) to avoid the disabled list.

Machado's strained wrist is feeling much better and Showalter said he could be available off the bench on Saturday. The All-Star third baseman hasn't played since getting spiked on his left wrist by Andrew McCutchen on Wednesday night.
Jun 10 - 6:09 PM

Manny Machado (wrist) is out of the Orioles' starting lineup again on Saturday.

Machado has been sidelined since getting spiked on the left wrist by Andrew McCutchen on Wednesday, though he's still expected to avoid the disabled list. Ruben Tejada will take another turn at third base and bat ninth Saturday against Yankees right-hander Luis Severino.
Jun 10 - 3:25 PM

Manny Machado (wrist) remained out of the Orioles' lineup Friday.

It's the second straight start he's missed with a strained left wrist. Machado's status for the weekend is in question. Ruben Tejada is at third base.
Jun 9 - 4:46 PM

Manny Machado (wrist) admitted Thursday's that he wasn't sure whether he'd be ready to play this weekend against the Yankees.

ESPN's Buster Olney reported Thursday that an MRI on Machado's left wrist came back negative, but the exam actually revealed a strain, and he also has a gash on his hand and some bruising. It does appear to be a minor strain, as Orioles manager Buck Showalter said that the club "might have dodged some more extensive damage." That said, Machado said Thursday that he hasn't "been this sore in a long time." It appears for now that he'll probably avoid a disabled list stint, but we'll just have to see how the wrist recovers.
Jun 9 - 10:03 AM

Manny Machado (wrist) is not in the Orioles' lineup Thursday against the Nationals.

Machado exited Wednesday's game with a strained left wrist after getting spiked on a slide by Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen. Luckily his MRI and X-rays both came back negative. Machado has been wearing a brace on his injured wrist, though the Orioles are still calling him day-to-day. Chris Davis is filling in for Machado at third base with Mark Trumbo covering first. Davis hasn't started at the hot corner since 2014.
Jun 8 - 4:53 PM

An MRI on Manny Machado's left wrist turned up negative.

Machado was removed Wednesday's game against the Pirates after taking a spike to the wrist at third base, but X-rays were clean and a deeper scan showed no structural damage. He has a gash on his hand and some bruising but should ultimately be fine. Consider the star third baseman day-to-day.
Jun 8 - 2:57 PM

X-rays taken late Wednesday on Manny Machado's sore left wrist came back negative.

Machado injured his wrist when Andrew McCutchen inadvertently spiked him while sliding into third base on Wednesday night. Roch Kubatko of MASN passes along word that Machado will probably undergo an MRI just to make sure everything is in the clear. Consider him day-to-day for now.
