Keon Broxton fell a double shy of the cycle and drove in four runs in Tuesday's win over the Red Sox.

Broxton belted an opposite-field, two-run homer in the first inning before adding a single and a two-run triple. He also stole a base and was hit by a pitch, as he reached base in all four of his trips to the dish. It looked a couple weeks ago like there was a chance Broxton might be sent down or benched, but he's raised his OPS from .410 to .812 over his last 15 games. He now has three home runs to go along with his eight stolen bases.
May 10 - 1:00 AM

Keon Broxton finished 4-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a win over the Cardinals on Thursday.

Perhaps more notably, Broxton didn't strike out once in the contest. Jokes aside, Thursday's game is an example of why Broxton is so enticing, as a real-life and fantasy player -- he's got pop, and with six steals in 25 games, he's got the speed as well. The homer was his second of the year. The strikeouts are likely always going to be an issue; it's his ability to rein them in, and what he does with the rest of his at-bats, that will determine his success in the majors.

Keon Broxton is not in the Brewers' starting lineup on Saturday.

While Broxton's bat has picked up a bit in recent days, the Brewers need to find a way to keep Hernan Perez's bat in the lineup, and on Saturday it's at the expense of Broxton. Look for him to return for Sunday's series finale.
Apr 29 - 3:58 PM

Keon Broxton went 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk, and a run scored Friday against the Cardinals.

His second-inning triple snapped an 0-for-18 hitless streak. Broxton finished last season strong after making a change with his batting stance and followed that up with a great spring, but he’s hitting just .133 (6-for-45) with 21 strikeouts and three walks through 15 games. There’s still big-time potential here in the speed and power departments, but his approach is a work in progress. He had struck out at least two times in five straight games before Friday.
Apr 22 - 1:21 AM

Keon Broxton singled, hit a solo homer and stole a base in Tuesday's win over the Blue Jays.

That's more like it. Broxton had just one hit in his first 11 at-bats going into this one and had missed time when a hit by pitch resulted in a broken nose. He flashed the intriguing power/speed combo Tuesday, though, taking J.A. Happ over the boards in the first inning and later adding his second stolen base of the year. Broxton batted second Tuesday, which looks to be his regular spot against lefties.
Apr 11 - 11:50 PM

Keon Broxton (nose) is back in the Brewers' lineup Sunday.

It's Broxton's first start since he suffered a small nasal fracture when he was hit by a pitch Thursday. The speedy outfielder has one hit in his first eight at-bats this season.
Apr 9 - 11:30 AM

Keon Broton (nose) is not in the Brewers starting lineup against the Cubs on Saturday.

Broxton returned to action during Friday's game and will presumably be available off the bench again on Saturday. Eric Thames will start in right field while the hot-hitting Jesus Aguilar draws another start at first base.
Apr 8 - 3:51 PM

Keon Broxton (nose) returned to action on Friday, going 0-for-1 and playing a few innings in center field.

Manager Craig Counsell said before the game that Broxton would be available off the bench, and he wasn't hesitant to go to him. Expect the dynamic young outfielder to return to the starting lineup on Saturday.
Apr 8 - 8:28 AM

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said that Keon Broxton(nose) is available off the bench on Friday.

Broxton took a pitch to the face in a scary incident on Thursday and is out of the starting lineup for Friday's series opener. It sounds like he should return to the lineup over the weekend and could even be used as a pinch-runner if the right situation comes up on Friday.
Apr 7 - 6:15 PM

Keon Broxton (nose) is not in the Brewers' lineup Friday.

Broxton suffered a small nasal fracture after being hit in the face by a pitch Thursday. He'll be fine but needs to wait for the swelling to go down a bit. Hernan Perez is filling in in center field. The Brewers also have Jesus Aguilar at first base over Eric Thames and Manny Pina at catcher over Jett Bandy.

Keon Broxton suffered a small nasal fracture after being hit in the face by a pitch from Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela on Thursday.

Things could have been much worse for Broxton if he wasn't wearing a protective flap over his face. The Brewers said he won't be placed on the disabled list. "He avoided something incredibly serious," said a relieved manager Craig Counsell. Kirk Nieuwenhuis replaced Broxton in the field on Thursday and would probably start in his place if he misses any time. Consider Broxton day-to-day.
Apr 6 - 5:23 PM

Keon Broxton was forced out of Thursday's game against the Rockies after being hit in the face by an Antonio Senzatela pitch.

Broxton was hit in the face in the bottom of the second inning of Thursday's game against the Rockies. After being hit, the outfielder was able to walk off the field under his own power, albeit while sporting a bloody nose. He was subsequently replaced in the field by Kirk Nieuwenhuis. The Brewers figure to pass along word as to the extent of Broxton's injury in the coming hours.
Apr 6 - 2:22 PM

Keon Broxton (wrist) is back in Tuesday's Cactus League lineup.

Great news. Broxton was removed from Friday's Cactus League game due to discomfort in his surgically-repaired right wrist, but he feels fine now. Assuming he can stay healthy, he's looking like a serious breakout candidate this year.
Mar 21 - 12:28 PM

Keon Broxton was removed from Friday's Cactus League outing due to discomfort in his surgically-repaired right wrist.

The club is calling his exit precautionary and Broxton said afterwards that he merely felt a twinge in his wrist on a check swing. Pay close attention to his status the next few days, but this sounds minor and shouldn't impact his availability for the start of the regular season.
