Keon Broxton went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts Friday against the Dodgers.
The Brewers had some hopes for Broxton after he started strong this spring, but he's 7-for-55 with a whopping 30 strikeouts during his stints in the majors. At least he's 6-for-7 stealing bases. Jun 18 - 2:08 AM

Brewers recalled OF Keon Broxton from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

In 38 at-bats with the big league club this season, Broxton has picked up just one hit. He figures to serve as bench depth, but could see a few extra at-bats with Domingo Santana (elbow) landing on the disabled list.

Brewers optioned OF Keon Broxton to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Broxton has had a rough go of it in his first couple stints with the Brew Crew, hitting only .105/.244/.132. The Brewers will give him another shot at some point.
Jun 3 - 3:01 PM

Brewers recalled OF Keon Broxton from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Brocton went hitless in 16 at-bats with the Brew Crew earlier this season, but he's since batted .301/.390/.583 with seven homers and 15 steals for Colorado Springs. He figures to see plenty of playing time while Domingo Santana (shoulder) is on the disabled list and Ryan Braun (back, wrist) is banged up.
May 20 - 2:29 PM

Keon Broxton is expected to be recalled by the Brewers on Friday.

The move isn't official yet, but Triple-A Colorado Springs manager Rick Sweet revealed the news in an interview Thursday night that Broxton was being promoted. The speedster went hitless in 16 at-bats with the Brew Crew earlier this season, but he's since batted .301/.390/.583 with seven homers and 15 steals for Colorado Springs. Kirk Nieuwenhuis has been playing well in center field, but Broxton could see regular at-bats if Domingo Santana (shoulder) is placed on the disabled list.
May 20 - 11:30 AM

Brewers optioned OF Keon Broxton to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

The Brewers needed to clear a roster spot for Zach Davies, who is starting in Matt Garza's place Sunday against Pittsburgh. Broxton didn't look ready for the big leagues during his six-game stint with Milwaukee, going hitless in 16 at-bats with 11 strikeouts. Hopefully he can regain his confidence by having some success in Triple-A. Ramon Flores and Kirk Nieuwenhuis will handle center field for the Brewers.
Apr 16 - 10:34 PM

Keon Broxton struck out all three times he was up Thursday against the Cardinals.

The Brewers have been alternating Broxton and Ramon Flores in center field. Kirk Nieuwenhuis hasn't been much of a factor, even though he homered in the one start he has gotten (that on Apr. 9). We're not sure what the fascination with Flores is, and Nieuwenhuis is probably the best player of the trio right now, though it makes sense for the rebuilding Brewers to give Broxton a longer look, too. Unfortunately, Broxton is 0-for-14 with 10 strikeouts so far.
Apr 14 - 4:54 PM

Keon Broxton is starting in center field and batting ninth for the Brewers on Friday against the Astros.

After starting Opening Day, Broxton was benched in favor of Ramon Flores the last two games with a right-hander on the mound. He's in there Friday versus righty Scott Feldman.
Apr 8 - 2:56 PM

Keon Broxton went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts Friday against the Astros.

Broxton got off to a hot start this spring, but he has cooled considerably of late. He’s now batting .224 (11-for-49) with an alarming 20 strikeouts. Broxton, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Alex Presley, and Ramon Flores are the current internal candidates for center field and there’s still no clear indication how things will turn out.
Apr 1 - 6:16 PM

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Thursday that he might not name a starting center fielder.

It sounds like we'll see a mix of Keon Broxton, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, and maybe another. Broxton would take on some fantasy relevance if he's able to claim a large share of the rotation. The 25-year-old hit .273/.357/.438 with 10 homers and 39 steals in 133 games last season between Double-A and Triple-A.
Mar 24 - 1:18 PM

Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel believes that Keon Broxton is "making a strong push" for the Brewers' center field job.

Broxton, 25, is probably the club's best defensive option in center field and has five hits and a stolen base in his first 16 Cactus League at-bats. The speedster could be interesting in fantasy leagues if he gets the job, as he could put up a nice stolen base total. Broxton batted .273/.357/.438 with 10 homers and 39 steals between Double- and Triple-A last season. He's competing with Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Rymer Liriano, Ramon Flores and Alex Presley for the center field gig.
Mar 13 - 3:21 PM

Brewers acquired OF Keon Broxton and RHP Trey Supak from the Pirates for 1B Jason Rogers.

Broxton, a third-round draft pick in the 2009 draft, batted .273/.357/.438 with 10 homers and 39 steals between Double-A and Triple-A this past season before getting a cup of coffee with the Bucs in September. The trade is a great one for the 25-year-old, who could fight for a roster spot in Milwaukee after being blocked in a stellar Pirates outfield. Broxton was added to the 40-man roster, so he'll certainly get a long look in spring.

Pirates purchased the contract of OF Keon Broxton from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Broxton batted .273/.357/.438 with 10 home runs and 39 stolen bases in 133 games this season between Double-A and Triple-A. He'll provide some outfield depth down the stretch.

Keon Broxton will join the Pirates on Monday.

The 25-year-old outfielder hit .273/.357/.438 with 10 home runs and 39 stolen bases in 133 games this season between Double-A Altoona and Triple-A Indianapolis. Broxton is not much of a prospect, but he'll be a nice piece for the Bucs' bench over the next two weeks.

Pirates acquired OF Keon Broxton from the Diamondbacks for a player to be named later.

Broxton batted just .231/.296/.359 in 101 games last season at the Double-A level. The 23-year-old was a third-round pick in the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft and the Bucs will hope that he fares better with a change of scenery.
