Brewers optioned OF Keon Broxton to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Even with the depth that the Brewers have in the outfield, this move comes as a bit of a surprise, given the fact that Broxton went 20/21 for the Brewers during the 2017 season and is a terrific defender. He slashed .245/.351/.408 with two homers, six RBI and eight stolen bases in Cactus League action. The best thing for him, and his fantasy value, would be a trade. Mar 24 - 11:34 AM

Keon Broxton went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a stolen base Friday versus the Cubs.

Broxton hit just .220 last season, but he still managed 20 homers and 21 steals over 143 games. That power/speed combo makes him worth watching in fantasy leagues, but barring a last-minute trade or injury, he’s expected to begin the year as a bench player for Milwaukee.

Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Keon Broxton is drawing more trade interest from teams than Domingo Santana.

Santana's name has been mentioned often as a potential trade piece, especially after the Brewers traded for Christian Yelich and signed Lorenzo Cain. However, Haudricourt hears that Broxton is the one clubs are asking about more because he's cheaper, has speed, can play center field and has an option remaining. Broxton is a career .226/.317/.422 hitter but was a 20/20 player last season, and his power/speed combo would make him interesting again in fantasy if he's dealt somewhere where he has an easier path to playing time.

Keon Broxton went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a stolen base and two runs scored in Saturday's Cactus League loss to the Angels.

Broxton spoiled the debut party of Shohei Ohtani in the second inning, when he mashed a solo home run off the highly-hyped MLB newcomer. While the outfielder does have a decent bit of pop to his bat -- he swatted 20 home runs a year ago -- Broxton slashed an underwhelming .220/.299/.420 across 414 at-bats during the 2017 season. He'll be fighting it out for a backup role this spring, but does have one option remaining should the Brewers choose to ship him down to the minors in a month.

Keon Broxton still has one more minor league option remaining.

The feeling had been that the Brewers used their final option on Broxton when they sent him down last July, but it turns out it didn't count because he was in the minors for less than 20 days. The bit of news could wind up being noteworthy if the team still has a glut of outfielders at the end of spring training.

Jon Heyman of FanRag Reports reports that Keon Broxton "could be trade bait" for the Brewers this offseason.

Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel first suggested that Broxton might potentially be dealt over the winter. Broxton was a 20/20 player for Milwaukee this season, but he hit just .220/.299/.420 and frustrated with his inconsistency, even earning a demotion to the minors at one point. If the Brewers do wind up dealing Broxton, they could hand center field over to Lewis Brinson or use Brett Phillips as a placeholder until Brinson is deemed ready.

Keon Broxton stole his 20th base of the season on Sunday afternoon against the Cubs.

Broxton swiped second base after hitting a two-out single in the bottom of the fifth. He's the eighth player in MLB to reach 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases this season, joining Mike Trout, Mookie Betts, Jose Altuve, Tommy Pham, Elvis Andrus, Wil Myers, and Brett Gardner.

Keon Broxton is out of the Brewers' lineup Wednesday versus Pittsburgh.

Broxton joins Ryan Braun on the bench. In his place, Brett Phillips will get the start in center field and hit seventh. On the year, Broxton is hitting .221/.298/.429 with 20 homers and 19 stolen bases.

Keon Broxton went 2-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs as the Brewers topped the Rockies on Sunday.

Broxton came through with a two-run single in the ninth inning that increased the Brewers' lead to 8-2. He also drew a walk and scored a pair of runs in the contest. One of the streakier hitters in the league, he's locked in and should be ridden in all formats until he cools off. On the season, he's hitting .231/.309/.467 with 20 homers, 47 RBI and 19 stolen bases.

Keon Broxton went 2-for-4 with a homer Friday in a losing cause against the Rockies.

Both Broxton and Domingo Santana hit their 20th homers of the season for the Brewers tonight. Broxton has six in his last nine games, and he's hitting .292 in 48 at-bats since being recalled from the minors on Aug. 1.

Keon Broxton hit two solo homers Wednesday in the Brewers' 7-6 comeback win over the Pirates.

The first solo shot got Milwaukee on the board in the bottom of the third inning and the second tied the game at 5-5. Broxton also homered as a pinch-hitter on Tuesday night and the 27-year-old outfielder now has 19 total homers in 107 games this season. He has also racked up 19 stolen bases.

Keon Broxton, held out of the starting lineup for a second straight game, homered as a pinch-hitter Tuesday against the Pirates.

The Brewers played Jonathan Villar in center field tonight because they wanted to stack lefties against Ivan Nova. Broxton has been fine since rejoining the Brewers, hitting .250/.348/.525 in 40 at-bats. He'll continue to play center most days.

Keon Broxton went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Twins.

Broxton took Dietrich Enns deep for a solo shot in the second inning. He has gone yard in two of his last four games and is up to 16 dingers on the season. Despite this nice little bit of pop in the bat, Broxton is hitting just .222/.300/.437 in 102 games this season.

Keon Broxton had a solo homer and an RBI double off the Twins' Ervin Santana in Monday's loss.

Broxton has started all seven games since returning from the minors and gone 6-for-22 with four walks and a couple of steals. With Lewis Brinson back in Triple-A, it certainly seems as through Broxton will be a lineup fixture.

Keon Broxton singled in a run and walked in three plate appearances before being removed in a double-switch Thursday.

Broxton also robbed Jose Martinez of what might have been a homer with a fine jumping catch in center field. He's 3-for-9 with two walks in three games since being recalled to reclaim his spot as the Brewers' starting center fielder.
