Eduardo Escobar reached base four times and drove in a run in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees.
Escobar doubled twice, with one of the two-baggers plating a run in the eighth inning. He also added a single and a walk. The veteran infielder is off to a nice start as he fills in at shortstop for the suspended Jorge Polanco, sporting a .293/.338/.534 batting line. Apr 24 - 9:52 PM

Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBI on Wednesday as the Twins rolled to victory over the Pirates.

Escobar hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning that pulled the Twins even at 2-2. He then delivered an RBI double during a four-run uprising in the sixth inning. Escobar has been filling in admirably at shortstop for the suspended Jorge Polanco, slashing a robust .438/.412/.875 with a homer and five RBI.

Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-4 with a homer in a victory over the Orioles on Sunday.

It's the first homer of the season for Escobar, and it was one of three the Twins hit off of ineffective starter Kevin Gausman. Escobar has always shown power potential, and the fact that he's going to get most of his starts at shortstop bodes well for his fantasy outlook. The question is whether or not he'll get on-base enough to justify that power being in the lineup, but this is a promising start to his campaign.
Apr 1 - 4:07 PM

Twins manager Paul Molitor told reporters that Eduardo Escobar will get most of the playing time at shortstop in place of Jorge Polanco (suspension).

The other option for the Twins on the 40-man roster is Ehire Adrianza, but he's more of a utility-type player in talent. Escobar has shown quality power in his time with the Twins (21 homers in 129 games in 2017), but his career .301 on-base percentage helps illustrate how little patience he has at the plate. Don't be surprised if a prospect like Nick Gordon gets a chance to play over the summer until Polanco returns from his suspension.
Mar 21 - 5:17 PM

After coming off the bench, Eduardo Escobar hit a two-run homer and walked Wednesday against the Red Sox.

It looks like Miguel Sano is going to be healthy enough to play third base in April, so Escobar will serve in a utility role initially. That's for the best; he offers a good amount of pop, as evidenced by last year's 21 homers in 457 at-bats, but he still has a lifetime OBP of .301.
Mar 7 - 5:10 PM

Twins and INF Eduardo Escobar avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $4.85 million contract.

Escobar hit .254/.309/.449 in 457 at-bats while starting about two out of every three games for the Twins last year. If he hits that well again, it wouldn’t be so bad if he continued to play that much. Most likely, though, the power will fall off some, and it’d be for the best if the Twins didn’t have to use him quite so often. He might be the third baseman initially if Miguel Sano gets suspended.

Eduardo Escobar swatted his 21st home run of the season as the Twins topped the Tigers on Friday night.

Escobar tagged Tigers' starter Matt Boyd for the solo shot in the second inning. He also singled and doubled, finishing the night 3-for-5 with three RBI. The three-hit attack raised his season slash to .256/.312/.454 to go along with 21 homers and 73 RBI.

Eduardo Escobar knocked in four runs and homered on Sunday in a 10-4 clobbering of the Tigers.

The homer was Escobar's 20th of the year, and came with two outs and two on in the sixth inning off of Victor Alcantara. He's struggled to get on base for most of the second half of the season, but he does have an .866 OPS in September. A 20 homer, 70 RBI season is nothing to sneeze at, and that's what Escobar has done so far in 2017 with six games left to go.

Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-5 with an RBI double and three runs scored in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

It took a while for the Twins to break through, but Escobar's run-scoring double in the fourth inning opened the floodgates in the 12-1 thumping. Escobar also reached base and scored in the seventh and eighth innings as the Twins piled on. The 28-year-old is quietly having a decent offensive year, batting .251/.309/.440 with 19 homers, 64 RBI and 58 runs scored after Thursday.

Eduardo Escobar hit his 19th home run of the season in Saturday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Escobar took Jays starter Marco Estrada deep to lead off the eighth inning, his only hit in three at-bats. The run scored set a new personal best for the 28-year-old, who has hit a number of career highs this season. Escobar is batting .251/.309/.448 with those 19 homers, 63 RBI, 53 runs scored and four steals on the year.

Eduardo Escobar finished 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored in the Twins' 10-6 victory over the Rays on Wednesday.

Escobar served as the Twins' cleanup man in this one and actually looked the part, smacking a two-run single in the top of the fifth inning and a one-run single in the top of the seventh. He also tripled and scored on Robbie Grossman's sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth. Escobar, 28, is batting .253/.311/.431 with 15 homers, four triples, 12 doubles, 59 RBI, and 47 runs scored in 107 games this season.

Eduardo Escobar had a triple, two homers and six RBI as the Twins skunked the Royals 17-0 on Saturday.

Escobar delivered the big blow in a six-run second inning when he swatted a two-run triple, and little did anyone know he was just getting started. The infielder then hit a solo homer in the fifth inning before capping the scoring, mercifully, with a three-run bomb in the seventh. Escobar now has 14 homers on the year, a new career high, and he's likely going to finish with personal bests in a number of offensive categories. The 28-year-old is hitting .253/.313/.423 in 103 games to date.

Eduardo Escobar went 1-for-3 with a two-run single in Wednesday's win over the Padres.

Escobar boosted the Twins to a 4-0 lead with his two-run single off Luis Perdomo in the second inning. He has driven in four runs in his last three games and is slashing .272/.329/.433 with 10 homers and 37 RBI across 254 at-bats.

Eduardo Escobar went 1-for-6 with a two-run home run and a steal in Sunday's 12-inning loss to the A's.

Escobar connected for a two-run homer off Jharel Cotton to put a loud bow on a three-run first inning for the Twins (Brian Dozier smacked a solo homer for the other run in the frame). Over the course of 75 games played this season, the 28-year-old infielder is working to a .269/.322/.434 triple-slash with 10 homers and 35 RBI.

Eduardo Escobar finished 1-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's game in San Diego.

While it isn't much, he has posted four RBI over the past six outings. That's newsworthy because he had managed just four RBI in a 23-game span from June 17-July 16. Slowly but surely he is coming alive at the plate again.
