Eduardo Escobar went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in a win over the White Sox on Tuesday.
Escobar had a pair of doubles in the game, but it was his RBI single in the second inning that got the Twins on the board against Chris Sale. He would come around to score later in the four-run frame. After a career campaign in 2014, Escobar is once again having a solid season at the dish, batting .261/.306/.441 with eight homers, 42 RBI and 37 runs scored in the Twin Cities. Sep 1 - 11:42 PM

Eduardo Escobar hit a pair of solo homers to lead the Twins to a 5-3 win over the Rays on Wednesday.

That's three homers and three doubles in five games for Escobar, who has pushed his OPS over .700. He's going to finish out the season as the Twins' starting shortstop after spending much of the first half as a utilityman. Still, he doesn't really have a lot to offer mixed leaguers.
Aug 26 - 11:08 PM

Eduardo Escobar went 3-for-5 with a homer and a double as the Twins' No. 9 hitter on Thursday.

It's bizarre how little shortstop Escobar was playing there for a spell, particularly after the Twins initially sent down Danny Santana, but he's getting his chance to claim the job now. He's not a great hitter or a great defender, but he'd seem to offer the best mix of offense and defense in the organization.
Aug 21 - 12:33 AM

Eduardo Escobar had a walk-off RBI double to give the Twins a 3-2 win over the Rangers on Tuesday.

After Kurt Suzuki walked with two outs, Escobar hooked a double down the right field line to score Suzuki from first base. The double was his only hit in three at-bats in the game. Escobar is hitting .242/.281/.381 in a part-time role this year.
Aug 12 - 1:36 AM

Twins manager Paul Molitor confirmed Sunday that Eduardo Escobar will function as the team's starting shortstop in the wake of Danny Santana getting demoted to Triple-A on Sunday.

Escobar has been stealing a fair amount of time from Santana in recent days, but is now officially an everyday player in the Twins lineup. The 26-year-old is hitting .228/.250/.342 with three homers and 20 RBI on the season, so he isn't a very appealing option in most fantasy formats.
Jun 7 - 5:46 PM

Eduardo Escobar continued his hot hitting on Thursday, driving in a pair of runs and finishing 1-for-3.

Escobar had homered and recorded three hits and five RBI in Wednesday's 13-0 demolition of the A's. He didn't do anything quite so dramatic on Thursday, but his two-run single in the fifth inning broke a 4-4 tie. The A's would manage one run the rest of the way as the Twins came away with a 6-5 win. Despite a few nice games, Escobar is still hitting just .230/.256/.378.
May 7 - 5:33 PM

Eduardo Escobar's bat came along with a three hits, a homer and five RBI as the Twins crushed the A's 13-0 on Wednesday.

Escobar's presence in the middle of the Twins order was turning into quite the punchline with him batting .194/.217/.299 in 67 at-bats entering the day. He doubled his homer and RBI totals in this one, but he still shouldn't be batting fifth and playing a corner outfield spot for a major league team. On the other hand, he probably wouldn't be too bad as a No. 8 hitter and starting shortstop.
May 6 - 11:37 PM

Eduardo Escobar had an RBI double, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Tigers.

Escobar's RBI double in the seventh inning tied the score, and he eventually came around to score the winning run later in the inning. It was a big hit for the infielder, who has been devoid of many thus far this year. With Tuesday's effort, Escobar is batting just .156/.191/.267 on the season.
Apr 28 - 11:24 PM

Eduardo Escobar homered and doubled to lead the Twins to a 3-1 defeat of the Yankees on Tuesday.

Escobar isn't making things easy for the Twins. The team wants to take a long look at Danny Santana at shortstop, but Escobar was just fine as a starter there last year and he's kept hitting this spring, with four homers in 54 at-bats. There seems little doubt that the Twins would be better for the short-term by starting Escobar at short and Santana in center field. However, it is in the franchise's best interests to see if Santana can cut it at short, particularly since Byron Buxton is lined up as the center fielder of the future.
Mar 31 - 4:41 PM

Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-4 and hit a grand slam against the Orioles on Tuesday.

The slam came off left-hander T.J. McFarland. Escobar was a solid regular as the Twins' primary shortstop last year, but his strong showing with the bat (.275/.315/.406) is kind of being written off as a fluke. He's set to return to a utility role for now with Danny Santana at shortstop for the Twins, but if Santana proves mediocre defensively and Aaron Hicks fails to hit, the Twins could always return to what worked for them in 2014.
Mar 17 - 6:07 PM

Eduardo Escobar went 4-for-5 with a homer and six RBI in Saturday's 12-3 rout of the Tigers.

Escobar grounded out to third in his first at-bat, but he singled twice in the Twins' six-run fifth inning, hit an RBI single in the seventh inning, and then slugged a three-run shot in the eighth inning. Escobar is batting .277/.317/.409 with six home runs and 37 RBI in 132 games this season for Minnesota.

Eduardo Escobar went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in his return to the lineup Tuesday.

Escobar hadn't started a game since a week ago, when he suffered a jammed right shoulder. He should be fine moving forward.

Eduardo Escobar (shoulder) came off the bench to hit a single Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Escobar hadn't played since last Tuesday due to a jammed right shoulder, but he entered the game as a pinch-runner in the seventh and stuck around to hit a single in the ninth. He should be back in the lineup soon.

Eduardo Escobar (shoulder) is available off the bench Monday.

Escobar hasn't played since jamming his right shoulder last Tuesday night, but he felt fine after taking some extra swings during early batting practice on Monday. It sounds like he's not far off from a return.

Eduardo Escobar (shoulder) is not in the Twins' starting lineup Wednesday night versus Detroit.

Escobar is day-to-day after jamming his right shoulder on Tuesday night. Eduardo Nunez will start at shortstop and bat seventh Wednesday against the Tigers.
