Twins optioned INF Eduardo Escobar to Triple-A Rochester.

Escobar has batted just .214/.268/.328 in a utility role this season. The Twins also optioned Oswaldo Arcia and Chris Parmelee prior to the All-Star break.

Eduardo Escobar won it for the Twins Wednesday with a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth off Tigers reliever Phil Coke.

It should have been a sac fly, but a misplay in the Tigers outfield allowed the ball to bounce, and Brian Dozier came all the way around from first base. It was Escobar's first at-bat of the game, as he entered on a double-switch earlier in the contest.

Eduardo Escobar went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles Monday versus the Cardinals.

The Twins' decision to demote Drew Butera today appears to have locked up a bench spot for Escobar. Now only can he serve as a backup throughout the infield, but he can also serve as the emergency catcher behind Joe Mauer and Ryan Doumit. Still, he shouldn't have any fantasy value at all.

Eduardo Escobar (elbow) went 1-for-3 with a run scored Tuesday in his return to the lineup.

Escobar hadn't played since he was hit in the left elbow by a pitch last Friday. The 23-year-old infielder is batting .250 (10-for-40) with six RBI in 13 games since joining the Twins.

Eduardo Escobar (elbow) could be shut down for the season.

Escobar left Friday's game against the Tigers after he was hit by a pitch, and his return is "up in the air." X-rays came back negative, but with just four games remaining the Twins don't have anything to gain by rushing him back.

X-rays on Eduardo Escobar's left elbow came back negative.

Escobar left Friday's game against the Tigers after he was hit in the elbow by a pitch in the seventh inning. He'll go for more tests on Saturday, but consider him day-to-day for now.

Twins recalled INF Eduardo Escobar from Triple-A Rochester.

Escobar, who was acquired in July as part of the Francisco Liriano deal, batted just .207/.281/.276 with zero homers, three RBI, two stolen bases and a .557 OPS in 36 games with the White Sox earlier this year. He is unlikely to carry any fantasy value.

Twins acquired INF Eduardo Escobar and LHP Pedro Hernandez from the White Sox for LHP Francisco Liriano.

Escobar is batting just .207/.281/.276 in 36 major league games this season and produced a weak .666 OPS across 579 games in the minors. He's only 23 years old but the infielder seems doubtful to ever become a reliable everyday player in the bigs.

Eduardo Escobar singled home the lone run in Sunday's 1-0, 10-inning win over the Brewers.

The RBI was just Escobar's second in 59 at-bats this season. On the White Sox 25-man roster since Opening Day, Escobar is hitting an ugly .203/.309/.254.

Eduardo Escobar has likely earned a spot on the White Sox' Opening Day roster.

Escobar has an impressive .471/.471/.618 slash line in 17 games this spring in the Cactus League. The 23-year-old will presumably function as a utility infielder.

White Sox recalled SS Eduardo Escobar from Triple-A Charlotte.

Escobar hit .266/.303/.354 in 536 plate appearances across 137 games this season. Considered a defensive specialist, his at-bats will likely be limited.

White Sox optioned SS Eduardo Escobar, RHPs Anthony Carter and Freddy Dolsi and OF Stefan Gartrell to Triple-A Charlotte; optioned RHPs Kyle Cofield and Nate Jones to Double-A Birmingham.

Right-handers Brandon Hynick and Miguel Socolovich were reassigned to minor league camp. Escobar, 21, batted .277/.316/.393 with six home runs and 61 RBI in 624 plate appearances between High-A Winston Salem and Double-A Birmingham last season. The highly-skilled fielder was recently ranked as the organization's No. 5 prospect by Baseball America.
