Eduardo Escobar (elbow) is out of the Twins' starting lineup Friday versus the Rangers.
Escobar was lifted from Thursday's series finale against the Red Sox after taking a Rick Porcello pitch off his right elbow. He only suffered a contusion and is considered day-to-day. That's relatively good news. Escobar got hit in the right elbow by a Rick Porcello pitch in the bottom of the first inning of Thursday's matinee game at Target Field. He could return to action on Friday.

Eduardo Escobar was removed from Thursday's game against the Red Sox due to an apparent injury.

Escobar got hit in the right elbow by a high-and-tight pitch from Rick Porcello in the bottom of the first inning. He remained in the game until the top of the fourth, when Taylor Motter entered to play third base. It wouldn't seem to be anything too serious.

Eduardo Escobar had a two-run double and an RBI single as the Twins topped the Red Sox 6-2 on Tuesday.

The Twins won by four despite being outhit (8-5), outhomered (1-0) and outwalked (4-3). Escobar had the big hit against Chris Sale, plating two runs in the sixth, and also the go-ahead knock in the eighth after the Red Sox opted for new arrival Robby Scott in a tie game. He has 31 doubles in 66 games this year, which is one more than he had in 234 games between 2016 and 2017 combined.

Eduardo Escobar went 3-for-4 with three doubles and an RBI, but the Twins fell to the Indians 4-1 on Sunday.

Escobar's three doubles give him 30 on the season, a remarkable number considering we are not even at the All-Star break. All three came off of starter Shane Bieber, with one of them giving the Twins their only run of the game. Escobar now has his OPS up to .932, and he's on pace for a 71 double season. Unsustainable to be sure, but there's no question this is a breakout year for the talented third baseman.

Eduardo Escobar went 1-for-4 and plated the Twins' lone run in Thursday afternoon's loss to the Tigers.

Escobar gave the Twins an early edge with an RBI single off of Michael Fulmer in the first inning, but that wound up being the extent of their offense in the ballgame. Escobar is enjoying a terrific season at the dish, slashing .290/.340/.564 with 12 homers, 42 RBI and a stolen base.

He opened the game's scoring by knocking in two runs with a single in the first inning. He added a triple later in the ballgame. The third baseman is swinging a strong stick this year, slashing .291/.341/.570 with 12 home runs and 41 RBI in 237 at-bats.

Eduardo Escobar blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to help propel the Twins to a 4-2 win on Tuesday against the White Sox.

The Twins weren't able to do anything against Reynaldo Lopez, but they had no trouble against Nate Jones in the eighth inning. Escobar's three-run shot gave the Twins their 4-2 lead, and also gives the infielder 11 homers on the season. It also lifts his RBI total to 34, and he now holds an .854 OPS over 53 total games.

Eduardo Escobar clubbed a pair of longballs and drove in four runs in a 7-4 win over the Indians on Friday.

He jacked a three-run homer against starter Carlos Carrasco in the first inning, then followed that up with a solo shot against reliever Josh Tomlin in the seventh. The veteran infielder is on pace for the best season of his career. He has a .272/.327/.523 slash line with 10 home runs, 30 RBI and 29 runs scored in 50 games.

Escobar owns an excellent .880 OPS with seven home runs, 21 RBI, and 23 runs scored in 35 games this season, but Ehire Adrianza will take a turn at shortstop and Gregorio Petit will play third base in Wednesday afternoon's series finale against the visiting Cardinals.

Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in the Twins' 7-1 defeat of the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Escobar launched a bomb to the upper deck in left field at Busch Stadium in the top of the seventh inning. He also singled in the game. The 29-year-old has been on an incredible offensive tear since the final month of the 2017 season and is now slashing .313/.367/.626 with seven homers and 20 RBI in 29 games this year.

Escobar socked solo shots in the second and third innings before doubling in a run in the fifth. It was the third multi-homer game of his career. The 29-year-old has been a gift to fantasy owners in the early part of the season, batting .316/.367/.643 with six home runs, 17 RBI, and 17 runs scored over 25 games.

Escobar doubled in the sixth and followed that up with a single in the eighth inning. He scored Minnesota's fourth and final run later in the eighth on a bases-loaded walk. Escobar has swung a hot bat to start the year, hitting .308 with a league-high 13 doubles. Wednesday extended his hitting streak to nine games.
