Eduardo Escobar went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in Friday’s loss to the Yankees.
It took until his 43rd game of the season, but Escobar finally hit his first home run. This was after the 27-year-old slugged 12 homers in 127 games last season. Escobar is still hitting the ball in the air plenty, but the problem is that many of them have been infield fly balls. His fantasy upside remains limited. Jun 18 - 12:18 AM

Eduardo Escobar (groin) will be activated from the disabled list on Monday.

Escobar went 4-for-11 on a three-game minor league rehab assignment with High-A Fort Myers. He has been on the disabled list since May 7 due to a left groin strain and returns to a weak .237/.275/.289 batting line.
May 23 - 10:11 AM

Eduardo Escobar (groin) went 0-for-3 with a walk Sunday in his third rehab game with High-A Fort Myers.

That makes him 4-for-11 on his rehab assignment. Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press believes Escobar could be activated from the disabled list ahead of the Twins' series opener Monday night against the Royals. The infielder has been sidelined since May 7 because of a strained left groin.
May 23 - 9:28 AM

Eduardo Escobar (groin) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Fort Myers on Friday.

Escobar has missed the last couple weeks with a strained left groin. He should be activated in a few days but might be poised for a bench role with the way Eduardo Nunez is swinging the bat.
May 20 - 8:49 AM

Twins placed INF Eduardo Escobar on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left groin.

Escobar sustained the injury during Friday's game against the White Sox. Prior to the injury, he had been struggling at the plate, hitting just .237/.275/.289 with no homers and six RBI in 102 plate appearances. Jorge Polanco was recalled from Triple-A to take his spot on the active roster.
May 7 - 8:04 AM

Twins manager Paul Molitor announced Friday that Eduardo Escobar is likely heading to the disabled list with a strained left groin.

Escobar was lifted from Friday's game after sustaining the injury. Look for Eduardo Nunez to see the bulk of the action at shortstop for the Twins while Escobar is sidelined.
May 6 - 11:41 PM

Eduardo Escobar was forced to leave Friday's game against the White Sox with a strained left groin.

The injury doesn't appear to be serious, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him sit out a game or two as a precautionary measure. Look for Eduardo Nunez to see extra action in his stead if he's forced to miss any time.
May 6 - 9:35 PM

Eduardo Escobar is absent from the Twins' lineup on Sunday.

He's sitting in favor of the red-hot Eduardo Nunez for the second straight day. Nunez is also hitting leadoff for the second day in a row.
Apr 17 - 11:18 AM

Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-4 at the plate in Monday's loss to the White Sox.

The Twins are really struggling on offense right now, but Escobar has been one of the few bright spots with a .370 average in the early going. It could earn him a move up in the batting order, although he's not a particularly attractive fantasy commodity even with the hot start.
Apr 11 - 8:03 PM

Eduardo Escobar doubled twice and drove in a run in Monday's loss to the Orioles.

Offense was hard to come by for the Twins at a rain-soaked Camden Yards, but Escobar did his part from the seven spot in the order. His RBI double in the seventh inning got the scoring going for Minnesota and they wound up tying the game that frame before eventually losing in the ninth.
Apr 4 - 8:56 PM

Eduardo Escobar had a two-run double in Friday’s loss to the Nationals.

Escobar thrived as the Twins’ starting shortstop during the second half last season and ended up with 12 home runs and 58 RBI over 127 games. The 27-year-old did most of his damage against lefties, so he still has limited appeal in standard mixed leagues despite being multi-position eligible.
Apr 1 - 10:07 PM

Eduardo Escobar said his forearm is "fine."

Escobar left Tuesday's game against the Cardinals after getting hit by a line drive, but it didn't leave him any worse for the wear. He's hoping to be back in the lineup Thursday against Boston.
Mar 9 - 8:47 AM

Eduardo Escobar left Tuesday's Grapefruit League tilt against the Cardinals after being hit in the right forearm by a line drive.

Escobar was taking a lead off third when Reynaldo Rodriguez stung a liner off his wrist. The Twins are saying that they expect the shortstop to be fine, so consider him day-to-day.
Mar 8 - 3:56 PM

Twins and INF Eduardo Escobar avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.15 million contract.

The 27-year-old slashed .262/.309/.445 with 12 homers and 58 RBI in 127 games for the Twins in 2015. Escobar is expected to enter spring training as the team's starting shortstop, though his fantasy appeal is limited.
