Cheslor Cuthbert went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Twins.
Cuthbert had a hand in both of the Royals' run-scoring frames, singling and scoring in the fourth inning and doubling and scoring in the eighth. The three-hit night broke a 4-for-27 stretch dating back to the start of the series against the Twins last week. Cuthbert has impressed after being pressed into duty this year, batting .296/.331/.450 in 89 games as a 23-year-old. Aug 19 - 12:40 AM

Cheslor Cuthbert went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple and a run scored in Thursday's win over the White Sox.

Cuthbert got the Royals on the board with his triple, his first of the year, and he scored the winning run on a Eric Hosmer single one batter later. Cuthbert has been on a tear at the plate over the past week, going 12-for-31 with five extra-base hits and five runs scored during a seven-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old is now batting .303/.339/.456 overall.

Cheslor Cuthbert went 3-for-5 with an RBI single and two runs scored Tuesday against the White Sox.

Cuthbert, batting second in the Royals' lineup, had a double among his three hits, his third double in as many games. The strong showing raised his batting average back above .300, leaving his line at .301/.339/.449. Mike Moustakas will be back next year, but the Royals will surely find a way to get the 23-year-old into the lineup every day if he continues to perform at this level.
Aug 10 - 1:21 AM

Cheslor Cuthbert went 2-for-3 with a walk in a loss to the Rangers on Saturday.

Both hits were singles. Cuthbert has played well since taking over at third base for the injured Mike Moustakas. He is batting .298 with nine home runs and 33 RBI in 262 at-bats.
Jul 30 - 11:33 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert hit his ninth homer Friday off the Rangers' Yu Darvish.

Cuthbert is 5-for-10 with three RBI in three games since the Royals moved him up to the second spot in the lineup. That jump in the lineup is almost enough to make him worthy of a mixed-league pickup, though we still don't think he'll maintain his current pace.
Jul 22 - 11:28 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Sunday's loss to the Tigers.

Cuthbert managed an RBI double off Tigers starter Michael Fulmer in the second inning. The two-bagger was his 10th of the season and pushed his RBI total to an even 30. For the season, the 23-year-old infielder is slashing .283/.310/.438 with eight homers and 24 runs scored over 219 at-bats. With Sunday's double, he extended his current hitting streak to seven games.
Jul 17 - 3:46 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored Saturday against the Mariners.

Cuthbert did his damage from the bottom of the Royals' order, swatting a run-scoring double in the second inning and tacking on an RBI single in the sixth. There was some thought that the Royals would be on the hunt for a third baseman after Mike Moustakas was injured in early May, but the 23-year-old has held his own, batting .281/.311/.438 with eight home runs and 27 RBI through 55 games. With Moustakas out the entirety of the 2016 season, Cuthbert seems to be the man at the hot corner in KC.
Jul 9 - 11:19 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert homered and drove in all three of the Royals' runs in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

The Royals weren't able to get much going against knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, but Cuthbert lifted one over the left field wall against him in the fourth inning. The young infielder has done a nice job since Mike Moustakas (knee) went down, hitting .290 with seven homers over 38 games.
Jul 5 - 9:51 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert hit a walkoff RBI single in the bottom of the 13th inning as the Royals defeated the Tigers 2-1 on Sunday afternoon in Kansas City.

The game started out as a pitcher's duel between Jordan Zimmermann and Chris Young, and both bullpens continued that theme until the Royals broke through to load the bases (with the help of two intentional walks) in the bottom of the 13th. Cuthbert then smacked a single to left field to score pinch-runner Lorenzo Cain and end the game. It was Cuthbert's only hit in five trips to the plate.
Jun 19 - 8:20 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert swatted a pair of solo home runs on Saturday afternoon, powering the Royals to a 4-1 victory over the White Sox.

He got the Royals on the board with a shot off of White Sox starter Jose Quintana in the third inning, then capped off the scoring in the contest by repeating the feat in the eighth. He has held his own at third base in relief of the injured Mike Moustakas, slashing .264/.283/.409 with four long balls and eight RBI.
Jun 11 - 4:50 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert (elbow) finished 1-for-4 with two strikeouts on Tuesday night against the Orioles.

Cuthbert was hit in the arm by a throw Monday while running the bases but only suffered a mild right elbow contusion. He has a .638 OPS in 26 games this season.
Jun 8 - 8:53 AM

Cheslor Cuthbert is day-to-day with a right elbow contusion.

Cuthbert was forced to exit Monday's game after he was hit in the arm by a throw. The Royals haven't had much good news on the injury front recently, but fortunately it doesn't appear to be serious.
Jun 6 - 9:36 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert exited Monday's game against the Orioles in the seventh inning with an apparent injury to his right arm.

Cuthbert was hit in the elbow by a throw during a slide into second base. Omar Infante entered the game to play second base while Whit Merrifield moved over to play third. The Royals should pass along an update soon.
Jun 6 - 9:00 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert went 3-for-4 with a home run in a loss to the Indians on Thursday.

Cuthbert hit a solo shot off Indians reliever Austin Adams in the sixth inning. It was his second homer in 21 games since being promoted. The 23-year-old has held his own in Mike Moustakas' absence, batting .277/.294/.386, and with Moustakas out the rest of the year it could be Cuthbert who makes the lion's share of starts at the hot corner for the Royals from here on out.
Jun 2 - 11:01 PM

Royals recalled INF Cheslor Cuthbert from Triple-A Omaha.

Cuthbert was just sent down when Mike Moustakas was activated from the 15-day DL, but he's back to replace the injured Alex Gordon (wrist) on the active roster. The 23-year-old is batting .255/.269/.373 with a homer in 52 plate appearances with the big club this season. He'll serve as a backup infielder this time around.
