Cheslor Cuthbert hit a walkoff RBI single in the bottom of the 13th inning as the Royals defeated the Tigers 2-1 on Sunday afternoon in Kansas City.
The game started out as a pitcher's duel between Jordan Zimmermann and Chris Young, and both bullpens continued that theme until the Royals broke through to load the bases (with the help of two intentional walks) in the bottom of the 13th. Cuthbert then smacked a single to left field to score pinch-runner Lorenzo Cain and end the game. It was Cuthbert's only hit in five trips to the plate. Jun 19 - 8:20 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert swatted a pair of solo home runs on Saturday afternoon, powering the Royals to a 4-1 victory over the White Sox.

He got the Royals on the board with a shot off of White Sox starter Jose Quintana in the third inning, then capped off the scoring in the contest by repeating the feat in the eighth. He has held his own at third base in relief of the injured Mike Moustakas, slashing .264/.283/.409 with four long balls and eight RBI.

Cheslor Cuthbert (elbow) finished 1-for-4 with two strikeouts on Tuesday night against the Orioles.

Cuthbert was hit in the arm by a throw Monday while running the bases but only suffered a mild right elbow contusion. He has a .638 OPS in 26 games this season.
Jun 8 - 8:53 AM

Cheslor Cuthbert is day-to-day with a right elbow contusion.

Cuthbert was forced to exit Monday's game after he was hit in the arm by a throw. The Royals haven't had much good news on the injury front recently, but fortunately it doesn't appear to be serious.
Jun 6 - 9:36 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert exited Monday's game against the Orioles in the seventh inning with an apparent injury to his right arm.

Cuthbert was hit in the elbow by a throw during a slide into second base. Omar Infante entered the game to play second base while Whit Merrifield moved over to play third. The Royals should pass along an update soon.
Jun 6 - 9:00 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert went 3-for-4 with a home run in a loss to the Indians on Thursday.

Cuthbert hit a solo shot off Indians reliever Austin Adams in the sixth inning. It was his second homer in 21 games since being promoted. The 23-year-old has held his own in Mike Moustakas' absence, batting .277/.294/.386, and with Moustakas out the rest of the year it could be Cuthbert who makes the lion's share of starts at the hot corner for the Royals from here on out.
Jun 2 - 11:01 PM

Royals recalled INF Cheslor Cuthbert from Triple-A Omaha.

Cuthbert was just sent down when Mike Moustakas was activated from the 15-day DL, but he's back to replace the injured Alex Gordon (wrist) on the active roster. The 23-year-old is batting .255/.269/.373 with a homer in 52 plate appearances with the big club this season. He'll serve as a backup infielder this time around.
May 23 - 5:31 PM

Royals optioned 3B Cheslor Cuthbert to Triple-A Omaha.

The 23-year-old had an opportunity to showcase his skills while Mike Moustakas was sidelined, and acclimated himself well in his first taste of big league action. Cuthbert slashed .255/.269/.373 with a homer, three RBI and an 11/1 K/BB ratio in 52 plate appearances.
May 21 - 9:15 AM

Cheslor Cuthbert went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Red Sox.

The double was Cuthbert's third since being promoted, and he's now got five runs scored in those 10 games. He's not quite Mike Moustakas, but the 23-year-old isn't making the Royals look longingly at their disabled list, either, hitting .275/.293/.425 in the majors.
May 17 - 11:48 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a run scored in Friday's win over the Braves.

Cuthbert has only been in the big leagues for seven games, but he's collected at least one hit in each of those games. He launched his first homer on Tuesday and has now doubled in back-to-back contests. The 23-year-old is hitting .286/.310/.464 and should start most days until Mike Moustakas can regain his health.
May 13 - 11:45 PM

Cheslor Cuthbert is starting at third base and batting seventh on Saturday.

Cuthbert was recalled to take the place of the injured Mike Moustakas and will make for an interesting fantasy commodity if he finds his name in the lineup on a regular basis. He was hitting .333/.402/.624 with seven homers and 28 RBI at Triple-A Omaha.
May 7 - 12:40 PM

Royals recalled INF Cheslor Cuthbert from Triple-A Omaha.

The 23-year-old was tearing the cover off the ball at Triple-A, slashing .333/.402/.624 with seven homers and 28 RBI. It'll be interesting to see if they give him a chance to play everyday or if he'll share time at the hot corner with Christian Colon. If he sees substantial playing time, he's certainly intriguing in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues.
May 7 - 10:39 AM

Royals 3B prospect Cheslor Cuthbert contributed four hits Saturday in a win for Triple-A Omaha.

Through his first three games, Cuthbert is hitting .636 with one homer and seven RBI. The 23-year-old made 19 appearances for the Royals last year, collecting a .217 average with eight RBI over 46 at-bats. Although Cuthbert would love to get another opportunity in the big leagues, he might be better off in Omaha right now. At this stage of his development, it's important for Cuthbert to be playing everyday, which obviously wouldn't happen in Kansas City.
Apr 10 - 4:34 PM

Royals optioned INF Cheslor Cuthbert to Triple-A Omaha.

Cuthbert appeared in 19 games with the Royals last season and batted .277/.339/.421 with 11 home runs and 51 RBI over 104 games in Triple-A. Mike Moustakas has finally established himself, so the 23-year-old would only likely see significant time this season if there's an injury.
Mar 14 - 7:37 PM

The Royals have discussed the possibility of converting Cheslor Cuthbert into an outfielder.

Cuthbert has never played the outfield as a pro, but the Royals think he's athletic enough to handle the transition. The 23-year-old hit just .217/.280/.370 over 50 plate appearances with the big club in 2015.
