Trayce Thompson went 0-for-4 and struck out three times Monday against the Nationals.

Thompson is hitting just .212 over his last 30 games, though he does have five homers and 15 walks over that span. His decline is all BABIP, and there's nothing so far to suggest he's overmatched. Still, he should be losing some playing time against right-handers with Yasiel Puig back.
Jun 21 - 1:10 AM

Trayce Thompson went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double in Thursday's loss to the Brewers.

Thompson swatted his 11th homer of the season in the third inning, burning Junior Guerra for the three-run bomb with two outs. Over the course of 159 at-bats, the 25-year-old outfielder is hitting .264/.346/.528 with 11 homers and 26 RBI. Earlier this week, manager Dave Roberts named him an everyday starter moving forward. That means he will start even after Yasiel Puig (hamstring) comes back from the disabled list.
Jun 17 - 1:42 AM

Trayce Thompson finished 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored on Saturday versus the Giants.

Thompson was recently named the Dodgers' everyday left fielder and today's game will help him cement that role. He has been tearing it up all season long and now sports a .277/.358/.546 line for a .904 OPS, which is very close to the .896 OPS he posted last year in 135 plate appearances with the White Sox. The 25-year old has played better in the majors than he ever did in the minors.
Jun 11 - 11:48 PM

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Trayce Thompson has played himself into everyday status, even after Yasiel Puig returns.

Thompson seems as though he'll remain the club's starting left fielder for the foreseeable future while Puig mans right field once he's ready to return. The 25-year-old is hitting .271/.353/.556 with 10 homers and 22 RBI in 133 at-bats this season.
Jun 10 - 8:42 PM

Trayce Thompson hit a walk-off solo home run to end Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Rockies.

The Dodgers actually held a 3-1 lead through six innings, but the Rockies would tie the game with a pair of runs in the seventh. Goody for Thompson, who got to play hero when he connected for a walk-off solo tater against Rockies reliever Carlos Esteves in the bottom of the ninth. Thompson was dealing with a bout of back soreness at the end of May, but has fought through it to play in all seven of the Dodgers' games this month. He is slashing a strong .271/.356/.566 with 10 homers and 22 RBI across 129 at-bats.
Jun 8 - 2:31 AM

Trayce Thompson (back) is in the Dodgers' starting lineup Tuesday night against the Cubs.

He will start in left field and bat fifth versus Cubs right-hander Jake Arrieta. Thompson missed a couple of games in a row with some minor soreness in his back.
May 31 - 4:17 PM

Trayce Thompson (back) is available off the bench again Monday.

Thompson left Saturday's game with lower back soreness and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts would prefer to give him another day of rest. Consider him day-to-day.
May 30 - 4:13 PM

Trayce Thompson (back) is available off of the Dodgers bench on Sunday night.

Thompson was forced to leave Saturday night's game due to soreness in his lower back. He was able to take swings in batting practice without issue though, and will be at manager Dave Roberts' disposal on Sunday.
May 29 - 5:16 PM

Trayce Thompson was removed from Saturday's game against the Mets due to lower back soreness.

Thompson left the game in the fifth inning and was replaced by Yasiel Puig in right field. It's unclear how this will affect the 25-year-old's playing time in the coming days. Thompson has enjoyed a breakout season, hitting .274/.336/.528 with seven home runs in 116 plate appearances.
May 28 - 9:20 PM

Trayce Thompson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 3-2, 11-inning loss to the Padres.

Thompson lofted a two-run homer to right-center off of Padres starter Cesar Vargas in the seventh inning. It would be his only hit on the long evening. For the season, the lefty-killer is slashing .281/.347/.573 with seven homers and 19 RBI over 89 at-bats.
May 22 - 2:02 AM

Trayce Thompson hit two homers, walked and scored three times against the Angels on Monday.

His homers were the Dodgers' only two extra-base hits of the night. Thompson is earning himself more playing time versus righties with his play, and he's now 9-for-26 with five homers and two doubles in May, raising his overall OPS from .697 to .949. We're skeptical that he's going to settle in as a useful mixed-league outfielder this year, but the Dodgers will keep riding the hot hand.
May 17 - 2:57 AM

Trayce Thompson hit a pinch-hit, walk-off homer to end Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Mets.

Hitting for Kenley Jansen with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Thompson sent the Dodger faithful home happy when he rocked a solo home run to left against Mets reliever Hansel Robles. The game, as a whole, was a riveting and well-pitched showdown between teams who fancy themselves as contenders for the National League crown this season. Walk-off hero Thompson has now homered in back-to-back games and is slashing .277/.309/.538 with four homers, five doubles and 12 RBI across 65 at-bats.
May 11 - 2:12 AM

Trayce Thompson hit a two-run homer off Steven Matz to give the Dodgers their only runs Monday.

Thompson has adjusted well to his part-time role, playing primarily against lefties. He could get more time in left against righties if he continues to succeed, though the Dodgers also have Enrique Hernandez and Howie Kendrick there as alternatives to Carl Crawford.
May 10 - 3:49 AM

Trayce Thompson went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI against the Rays on Tuesday.

Thompson hit a two-run homer off Rays starter Matt Moore in the second inning before notching a two-run single in the fifth. After an offseason trade to the Dodgers, Thompson has appeared in 23 games with his new club this season. And he's enjoyed a level of success, batting .278/.316/.463 with two home runs and nine RBI.
