Moises Sierra whacked a three-run bomb in a loss to the Mets on Saturday.
Subbing in for Adam Eaton (who also homered earlier in the game), Sierra took reliever Hansel Robles deep with Ryan Raburn and Reid Brignac aboard. The veteran minor leaguer has hit very well this spring but doesn't have much chance to make the big league squad. He will hope an opportunity arises later this season. Mar 17 - 6:57 PM

Moises Sierra went 2-for-2 and homered to give the Nationals their lone run Monday against the Braves.

Sierra is off to a 4-for-6 start in an extreme long shot bid to win a bench spot on the Nationals. The 29-year-old hasn't seen the majors since 2014, when he played in 83 games for the White Sox. He's likely Triple-A bound again, but maybe a team from Japan or Korea will want him if he continues to impress this spring.

Moises Sierra went 2-for-3 and scored a run in a loss to the Marlins on Saturday.

Both hits were singles. He scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Reid Brignac in the fifth inning. The 29-year-old Sierra is fresh off a very strong campaign in the Dominican Winter League. He spent last season with the Marlins' Triple-A team, sporting a .294 batting average with 11 homers, 68 RBI and 18 stolen bases in 123 games. He last played in the major leagues in 2014.

Nationals signed OF Moises Sierra to a minor league contract.

Sierra has put on a show this offseason with the Gigantes del Cibao of the Dominican Winter League, but he last appeared in a major league game in 2014 and the 29-year-old outfielder will simply serve as Triple-A depth with Washington in 2018.

Marlins re-signed OF Moises Sierra to a minor league contract.

Sierra batted .336/.414/.519 with nine homers at Double-A Jacksonville this season, which is the kind of line you'd expect him to put up given that he turned 28 last month. He hasn't appeared in the majors since 2014.

Marlins signed OF Moises Sierra to a minor league contract.

Sierra, 27, spent last season at Triple-A with the Royals, hitting .289/.350/.362 with three homers and 13 steals. He spent significant time in the majors from 2012-14 but hit only .243/.296/.383.

Royals sent OF Moises Sierra outright to Triple-A Omaha.

Sierra batted just .230/.265/.342 in 170 plate appearances this past season between the Blue Jays and White Sox. The Royals then picked him up off waivers in October, but he got designated for assignment last week to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for Alex Rios.

Royals designated OF Moises Sierra for assignment.

Kansas City claimed Sierra off waivers from the White Sox in October, but he had to be removed from the 40-man roster Tuesday to clear a spot for newly-signed outfielder Alex Rios. Sierra, 26, batted .230/.265/.342 in 170 plate appearances this past season between the Blue Jays and White Sox.

Royals claimed OF Moises Sierra off waivers from the White Sox.

The 26-year-old outfielder appeared in 96 games between the Blue Jays and White Sox in 2014, slashing .230/.265/.342 with a pair of homers and nine RBI. He'll look to compete for a reserve outfielder role with the Royals in 2015.

White Sox activated OF Moises Sierra from the 15-day disabled list.

Sierra has batted .236/.265/.345 with two homers over 84 games between the Blue Jays and White Sox this season. He'll see some playing time versus lefties.

Moises Sierra (oblique) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.

He should remain there for a few more days before being activated when rosters expand. Sierra has batted .236/.265/.345 with two homers over 84 games between the Blue Jays and White Sox this season.

White Sox placed OF Moises Sierra on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique.

With how tricky oblique injuries can be, Sierra is expected to be sidelined longer than 15 days. The 25-year-old outfielder was hitting .289/.317/.430 with two homers and seven RBI in 114 at-bats with the White Sox.

Moises Sierra finished 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI against the Tigers on Thursday.

Sierra raised his average from .214 to .237 in his first start in eight days. He probably isn't looking at an expanded role down the stretch after the White Sox failed to trade an outfielder today.

Moises Sierra went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Sunday's win over the White Sox.

It was a rare sighting of offense from Sierra, who has played sparingly this season. He took Mark Buehrle out to left field in the fourth inning for his second home run of the season. Sierra also doubled and scored in the ninth, helping the White Sox add some late insurance runs. Sierra, who was selected by the White Sox off of waivers from the Blue Jays in early May, is slashing .278/.303/.417 with five RBI in 76 plate appearances with his new team.
Sun, Jun 29, 2014 03:48:00 PM

Moises Sierra singled in pinch-runner Leury Garcia in the bottom of the ninth to give the White Sox a 3-2 win over the Indians on Wednesday.

Sierra has been limited to playing against lefties lately, so this was just his second start in nine days. He's hitting .273 with four RBI in 44 at-bats as a member of the White Sox since being claimed off waivers from the Blue Jays on May 3. His role really shouldn't expand further, so his AL-only value is very limited.
