Braves signed RHP Michael Kohn to a minor league contract.
The deal includes a spring training invite. Kohn elected to become a free agent after he was outrighted off the Rays' 40-man roster last month. The 28-year-old had a 3.04 ERA in 23 2/3 innings with the Angels this past season -- the Rays signed him and proceeded to DFA him in the span of a month -- and could win a spot in the Braves' bullpen in spring. Rays sent RHP Michael Kohn outright to Triple-A Durham.

He's now cleared waivers twice since September after being removed from a pair of 40-man rosters. Kohn should still have a shot to crack the Rays' Opening Day roster if he accepts the assignment in lieu of free agency.

Kohn was designated for assignment by the Angels last week but passed through waivers and has now chosen to test the open market.
