The Athletics have sold RHP Ryan Brasier's contract to the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of Japan's Central League.

Brasier re-signed with the A's on a minor league deal at the end of October, but apparently he found a better opportunity overseas. The 29-year-old pitched exclusively at the Triple-A level this past season and hasn't appeared in the majors since 2013 as a member of the Angels.

Angels sent RHP Ryan Brasier outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.

He's now off the 40-man roster. Brasier missed the 2014 campaign due to Tommy John surgery but should eventually compete for a spot in the Angels' bullpen next year.

Angels transferred RHP Ryan Brasier from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

Nick Maronde was sent down in a corresponding roster move. Brasier had an ugly 6.00 ERA and 12/5 K/BB ratio in 12 innings over his first 10 relief appearances in Triple-A this season, but the Angels need a fresh arm for their bullpen.

22-year-old Ryan Brasier fired a no-hitter for Double-A Arkansas on Thursday.

It was quite a day for pitchers in the minor leagues, what with Brasier’s no-hitter and one-hitters from R.A. Dickey and Kyle Gibson. Brasier, a 2007 sixth-round pick, has opened this year 2-1 with a 3.28 ERA after going 7-5 with a 5.27 ERA in 14 starts and 21 relief appearances between Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and Arkansas last season. Never very highly regarded, he was likely only in the rotation for the start of this year because of the decision to shift top prospect Jordan Walden to the pen.
