Giants purchased the contract of LHP Matt Reynolds from Triple-A Sacramento.

He'll take the roster spot left by Josh Osich, who was placed on the disabled list with a strained forearm. Reynolds earned his promotion by tossing 10 1/3 scoreless innings between Sacramento and Double-A Richmond. He last pitched in the major leagues with Arizona, compiling a 4.61 ERA over 18 relief outings in 2015.
Jul 28 - 7:21 PM

Diamondbacks released LHP Matt Reynolds.

Reynolds at one point looked like he was going to be a pretty good LOOGY, but his career has stalled since he had Tommy John surgery a couple years ago. The 31-year-old will get a shot somewhere else on a minor league deal.

Diamondbacks optioned LHP Matt Reynolds to Triple-A Reno.

Reynolds posted a 5.40 ERA across four appearances this spring and hasn't pitched in over a week due to a rib cage injury. He'll see his fair share of time in the majors this season.
Mar 27 - 1:47 PM

Matt Reynolds said that he exited Thursday's game with a "little rib issue."

Obviously it's hard to ascertain from that description as to how serious it might be. If Reynolds has an oblique injury, there's a decent chance it could lead to a disabled list stint at the beginning of the season.
Mar 17 - 10:52 PM

Matt Reynolds left Thursday's game against the Cubs with an undisclosed injury.

It's unclear what happened, but Reynolds walked off the mound accompanied by the trainer after throwing a pitch. The Diamondbacks should have an update on the left-hander later Thursday.
Mar 17 - 9:51 PM

Diamondbacks and LHP Matt Reynolds avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $675,000 contract.

Zach Buchanan of AZCentral.com passed along the contract details, which includes a $25,000 bonus if he reaches 55 appearances. The left-hander held a 4.61 ERA in his first year back from Tommy John surgery, although he struck out 18 over 13 2/3 frames.

Diamondbacks recalled LHP Matt Reynolds from Triple-A Reno.

Reynolds has struggled in his first year back from Tommy John surgery, posting a 5.58 ERA over 45 outings for Reno. He be used in low-leverage situations with the D'Backs.

Diamondbacks optioned LHP Matt Reynolds to Triple-A Reno.

Reynolds pitched pretty well in the Cactus League this spring, but the Diamondbacks didn't have room for him in their bullpen. He'll act as organizational depth.

Matt Reynolds has been sidelined by a sore right oblique.

Reynolds missed throwing a batting practice session Wednesday due to the ailment. It's another setback for the southpaw, who's still recovering from Tommy John surgery in September 2013. Reynolds' elbow isn't giving him problems, though, and he said he expects to be back on the mound sooner than later. The 30-year-old has a shot at winning a bullpen job with the D'backs if he can stay healthy.

Diamondbacks activated LHP Matt Reynolds from the 60-day disabled list; exercised his $600,000 option for 2015.

Reynolds didn't quite make it back to the majors from Tommy John surgery this season, but he should be part of the club's bullpen next year. The lefty posted a 1.98 ERA over 30 appearances in 2013 in his lone season with the D'Backs.

He will do so again on Wednesday as he continues to recover from Tommy John surgery. He could make an appearance for the Diamondbacks in late September.

Matt Reynolds (elbow) will face hitters on Friday.

It will be the first time he's done so since last September's Tommy John surgery. Reynolds has maintained a hope of returning late this season, but it's probably a long shot.

Matt Reynolds (elbow) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Tuesday.

It was his first time throwing from a mound since last September's Tommy John surgery. "He's pretty pumped up about it," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said. "I think it's exciting." Reynolds remains hopeful of making a late-season return, but it's far from a guarantee.

Diamondbacks transferred LHP Matt Reynolds from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears room on the 40-man roster for the addition of David Peralta. Reynolds is hoping to make it back from Tommy John surgery late this season.
