Matt Reynolds gave up four runs without retiring a batter after entering Friday's game against the Padres.

How could Bruce Bochy let this happen? He plugged in one of his weakest relievers down 3-2 in the fifth and allowed five straight batters to reach (one in the middle was intentionally walked) before finally making the move to the vastly superior George Kontos. It was another big mishap from a manager who has struggled mightily in running a bullpen lately.

Matt Reynolds said that he exited Thursday's game with a "little rib issue."

Reynolds missed throwing a batting practice session Wednesday due to the ailment. It's another setback for the southpaw, who's still recovering from Tommy John surgery in September 2013.
