Choice, 27, has hit .241/.330/.447 with nine homers between Double- and Triple-A this season. The former top-100 prospect hasn't panned out and trying his luck overseas probably isn't a bad idea at this point. Jul 21 - 5:56 PM

Michael Choice said his hamstring injury is "no big deal."

He suffered the injury on Monday but expects to have full range of activities in the near future. Choice spent most of 2015 in the minors. Even with Abraham Almonte suspended and Michael Brantley recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, Choice faces long odds to make the big league roster.

Michael Choice tweaked a hamstring on Monday.

He missed a week of Rangers camp last spring with a similar injury and wound up being optioned to Triple-A Round Rock in mid-March. Choice was probably ticketed for Triple-A Columbus anyway. Cleveland pushed the 26-year-old outfielder off its 40-man roster in November and he passed through waivers unclaimed.

Indians sent OF Michael Choice outright to Triple-A Columbus.

Choice was pushed off the Indians' 40-man roster last week. He has accepted a non-roster invite to spring training in 2016 and figures to open the year at Columbus.

Rangers designated OF Michael Choice for assignment.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the newly acquired Will Venable. Choice, a former top-100 prospect, has stalled in his third go-round at Triple-A this season, batting just .244/.309/.399. He's still just 25, so there might be some interest on waivers.

Rangers optioned OF Michael Choice to Triple-A Round Rock.

Michael Choice was only in the majors for one day and struck out in his lone at-bat. Spencer Patton has been recalled from Round Rock in a corresponding move.

Rangers recalled OF Michael Choice from Triple-A Round Rock.

Choice has posted an underwhelming .242/.299/.404 slash line in 61 games this season at the Triple-A level. He has some pop but is doubtful to carry fantasy relevance.

Rangers optioned OF Michael Choice to Triple-A Round Rock; reassigned C Pat Cantwell, LHP Martire Garcia, RHP Alec Asher to minor league camp.

Choice didn't do much to get into the left field mix by going just 1-for-16 this spring. The 24-year-old batted just .182/.250/.320 with nine homers over 86 games with the Rangers last season and will try to earn another opportunity with his performance in the minors.

Michael Choice (hamstring) has been shut down for the season.

Choice strained his left hamstring legging out a double on Sunday and has been ruled out for the rest of the year. The 24-year-old batted just .182/.250/.320 with nine homers over 86 games with the Rangers this season and is unlikely to have a significant role going into 2015.

Michael Choice went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBI in Sunday's win over the Braves.

Choice had an RBI triple in the second inning before knocking a two-run double in the Rangers' six-run fifth inning. Choice has that kind of power and ability, but strikeouts and inconsistency have hurt him. The 24-year-old is hitting .182/.250/.320 on the year. He left Sunday's game with a strained left hamstring and could be in danger of an early shutdown.
