Alex Sanabia allowed four runs over six innings as the Marlins lost to the Reds on Wednesday.
Four runs was actually a good showing for Sanabia, as he gave up nine hits and three walks on the night. The right-hander now has a 5.00 ERA and probably shouldn't be starting for a major league team, let alone a fantasy one. His next start will come Monday against the Phillies. May 15 - 11:20 PM

Alex Sanabia left Tuesday's start against the Padres after 4 1/3 innings due to right groin tightness.

Sanabia allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits and two walks before exiting. He thinks that the issue is minor and that he should be able to make his next scheduled start.
May 8 - 8:40 AM

Alex Sanabia yielded three earned runs in 6 2/3 innings Saturday as the Marlins fell to the Cubs.

Sanabia allowed a leadoff triple in the top of the first inning to David DeJesus and then threw a wild pitch that allowed DeJesus to score. The 24-year-old right-hander wound up surrendering six hits and two walks while striking out four. He'll carry a rough 4.85 ERA and 1.62 WHIP into his next start against the Phillies.
Apr 27 - 10:05 PM

Alex Sanabia allowed five runs on six hits and five walks over six frames in Sunday's loss to the Reds.

Sanabia was pitching relatively well before the wheels came off in the seventh inning, when he left with the bases loaded and watched Jon Rauch allow every inherited runner to score. The righty has been good in two starts and bad in two others, and inconsistency should continue. He faces the Cubs next.
Apr 22 - 1:07 PM

Alex Sanabia allowed just two runs in six innings Tuesday in the Marlins' 8-2 win over the Nationals.

Sanabia gave up six hits and issued three walks, but he pitched well in situations that called for damage control and is now 2-1 on the year with a 4.24 ERA. The 24-year-old right-hander will take on the Reds next.
Apr 16 - 10:06 PM

Alex Sanabia allowed six runs in five innings as the Marlins lost to the Braves on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old had a good turn the first time out, and through four innings Wednesday it looked like he might turn in another solid performance. But things fell apart in the fifth as Sanabia served up jacks to Evan Gattis and Juan Francisco en route to a six-run inning. Sanabia's next start will come Tuesday against the Nationals.
Apr 10 - 10:15 PM

Alex Sanabia fired six shutout innings in a win over the Mets on Friday.

Sanabia was far from dominant, as he struck only out one batter and gave up six hits, three walks and hit a batter, but the Mets were unable to cash in on their opportunities. The 24-year-old right-hander should keep a rotation spot for now, but he's not relevant outside of NL-only formats.
Apr 5 - 10:48 PM

Marlins recalled RHP Alex Sanabia from Triple-A New Orleans.

He'll join the rotation along with Jose Fernandez with both Henderson Alvarez and Nathan Eovaldi out with shoulder injuries. Sanabia, 24, posted a 4.06 ERA over 17 starts last season at Triple-A. He's worthy of a roster spot in NL-only leagues.

Marlins recalled RHP Alex Sanabia from Triple-A New Orleans.

Sanabia held a 4.06 ERA over 17 starts at New Orleans this season. He'll likely return there to start 2013.

Alex Sanabia was tagged for three runs -- two earned -- and six hits in 1 1/3 innings by the Tigers on Tuesday.

Sanabia was supposed to be the Marlins' sixth starter last season, but he hurt his elbow and missed most of the year. Brad Hand is shaping up as the first alternative for the rotation now, but Sanabia could reemerge as a factor later.

Marlins manager Jack McKeon said he would like to give Alex Sanabia another start before the end of the season.

Sanabia certainly earned one, giving up just one run over six innings in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader. "Let’s give him another look, let him go out on a positive note [knowing], ‘My arm is OK,’" McKeon said. "Maybe he’ll have a chance to pitch here next year. He throws strikes. That’s the big thing. He makes them hit the ball." Sanabia, who has missed most of the year with elbow issues, is slated to go to the Arizona Fall League in order to make up for some lost innings.

Alex Sanabia is expected to start the second game of a doubleheader against the Phillies on Thursday.

Anibal Sanchez will start the first game. Sanabia, who was just called up from the minors last week, posted a 7.89 ERA over four starts with Triple-A New Orleans after missing the first four months of the season due to an elbow injury. He can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

Marlins manager Jack McKeon said Alex Sanabia will get a start next week.

It will either come on September 14 against the Braves or the following day during the doubleheader against the Phillies. Whichever of the starts Sanabia doesn't make will go to Brad Hand. Sanabia held a 7.89 ERA over four starts with Triple-A New Orleans after missing the first four months of the season due to an elbow injury. He can be avoided in fantasy.

Marlins recalled RHP Alex Sanabia from Triple-A New Orleans.

Sanabia had an ugly 7.89 ERA over four starts with the Zephyrs after missing the first four months of the season due to an elbow injury. Marlins manager Jack McKeon plans to keep Brad Hand in the starting rotation for the rest of the season, so Sanabia will likely function as a long man out of the bullpen down the stretch.

Alex Sanabia will start the season on the Triple-A disabled list due to elbow soreness.

Sanabia, who dealt with the elbow issues throughout spring training, is currently going through an evaluation process, after which a clearer timetable of his rehab will be determined. The right-hander could have been in line to be the first to get called up when the Marlins need a starter, but obviously he'll need to be healthy first.
