Jedd Gyorko collected a pair of hits as the Padres dropped their season finale to the Giants on Sunday in San Francisco.

Gyorko finished the afternoon 2-for-3 and also drew a walk. His disappointing and injury-plagued season comes to an end hitting a mere .210/.280/.333 with 10 homers and 51 RBI in 111 games. He'll be a popular bounce-back candidate in next spring's drafts.

Jedd Gyorko is not in the Padres' lineup Tuesday.

It's just a day of rest. Cory Spangenberg is handling second base in Gyorko's place.

Jedd Gyorko finished 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 6-3 win against the Dodgers.

This was Gyorko's third multi-hit game in his past four games, and his second multi-RBI game during that stretch. This was his first homer since August 19. Mostly due to a rotten start, he's slashing .203/.263/.335 on the year.

Jedd Gyorko doubled and singled in Monday's 3-1 win over the Diamondbacks.

Gyorko doubled (his eleventh) off of Diamondbacks starter Trevor Cahill. Gyorko's been awful this year, slashing just .197/.257/.325. It's a far step down from his decent .249/.301/.444 rookie campaign. Not only is he down in the slash categories, but he also has just nine home runs this season, as compared to 23 last year.

Jedd Gyorko returned to the Padres' lineup Tuesday.

Gyorko missed three straight starts due to left hamstring discomfort, but he's feeling good enough now to give it a go. The second baseman entered play Tuesday with two homers and eight RBI over his last four starts.

Jedd Gyorko (hamstring) grounded out as a pinch-hitter on Monday against the Brewers.

Gyorko has missed three straight starts due to left hamstring discomfort, but it's a good sign that he's been able to pinch-hit the past two days. Look for him to return to the lineup soon.

Jedd Gyorko (hamstring) remained out of the Padres' lineup Monday.

The second baseman has been out of action three out of the last four games due to a left hamstring strain. The good news is that Gyorko went through all pre-game activities and could be back in the lineup on Tuesday.

Jedd Gyorko (hamstring) is not in Sunday's lineup.

He's now missed two out of the last three contests after tweaking his left hamstring on Thursday. It's possible he'll be available to pinch-hit, and the Padres are confident that he will not need a trip to the disabled list.

Jedd Gyorko (hamstring) is out of the Padres' starting lineup Saturday versus the Diamondbacks.

Gyorko tweaked his left hamstring on Thursday against the Dodgers. He played through the injury on Friday night, but will rest on Saturday and aim to return Sunday.

Jedd Gyorko finished 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 8-6 loss against the Dodgers.

Gyorko crushed a Kevin Correia pitch 413 feet over the center field wall in the first inning to plate Abraham Almonte and Seth Smith and give San Diego an early 3-0 lead. He didn't reach again until a ninth inning single off Kenley Jansen. That hit momentarily made the affair very interesting, but Almonte was thrown out after rounding third to end the game. Gyorko remains hot since returning from the disabled list (plantar fasciitis) in late July, going 24-for-77 (.312) with four homers, five doubles and 20 RBI.

Jedd Gyorko finished 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBI in Saturday's 9-5 defeat of the Cardinals.

St. Louis jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning, but the Padres answered back with four runs in the top of the third (with the help of a Gyorko RBI single). Gyorko then slugged a grand slam in the seventh inning off Cardinals reliever Kevin Siegrist, just before a lengthy rain delay. Gyorko has been on fire since returning from a bad case of plantar fasciitis and looks poised to finish the 2014 season on a positive binge.

Jedd Gyorko had one of his best performances of the season, going 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a run scored in Wednesday's win against the Rockies.

It's Gyorko's first four-hit game of the season, and he was one of only two Padres to accrue multiple hits on the evening. The second baseman has been performing much better at the plate since coming off of the disabled list on July 28. He now has a .333 average (19-for-57) in 15 games since his activation. A surge over the remaining 43 games could help pull up his sagging numbers. He carries a disappointing .199/.251/.326 slash line with seven home runs and 35 RBI.

Jedd Gyorko went 2-for-5 with two RBI in Sunday's win over the Pirates.

Gyorko delivered a two-run single to extend the Padres' lead in the ninth inning. The second baseman is 13-for-45 (.289) with 11 RBI since returning from the disabled list in late July. A miserable first half has his line at .185/.240/.309, but Gyorko is more talented than that line would indicate.

Jedd Gyorko finished 3-for-5 with a double, solo homer, four RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 12-1 thrashing of St. Louis.

Ladies and gentleman, we've officially received signs of life from the 25-year-old second baseman. Gyorko hit just .162/.213/.270 in 221 plate appearances before missing close to two months with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. Since his activation on Monday, he's gone 6-for-11 (.545). Gyorko is owned in only 33-percent of Yahoo leagues, a number that isn't high enough. Based on the offensive chops he showed as a rookie -- including a .249/.301 /.444 slash line and 23 homers, which earned a five-year, $35 million contract extension -- it's not out of the question that the former top prospect could thrive over the next few months.
