Alex Presley left the yard for the second consecutive game, but it wasn't enough for the Brewers to overcome the Reds on Friday night in Cincinnati.
Presley's solo shot off Tim Adleman in the fifth inning wound up being the club's only offense in the ballgame. He finished the night 1-for-4 and also drew a walk. Presley has been mighty impressive in his limited time with the Brewers, slashing .310/.382/.655 with three homers and eight RBI. As long as he continues to find himself in the lineup, and in a premium lineup spot, he could be worthy of consideration as a fourth or fifth outfielder in deeper mixed leagues. May 6 - 10:32 PM

Alex Presley went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Thursday against the Reds.

Presley's two-run shot in the eighth inning got the Brewers on the scoreboard and simultaneously ended Alfredo Simon's night. The outfielder has been forcing his way into the lineup more often in recent days after being recalled on April 21. Through Thursday's game, he's hitting .320/.379/.600 with two homers and seven RBI.

Alex Presley singled in his lone at-bat off the bench Thursday against the Twins.

Ramon Flores isn't hitting and it's clear Craig Counsell doesn't think much of Kirk Nieuwenhuis, so the opportunity is there for Presley to get considerable playing time in center field the Brewers. It's still a big mess -- all three candidates to play there are left-handed hitters -- but anyone who gets hot can come away with the job.

Brewers purchased the contract of OF Alex Presley from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Rule 5 reliever Zack Jones (shoulder) was shifted to the 60-day disabled list to open up a 40-man roster spot. Presley is a .259/.299/.393 hitter in over 1,000 plate appearances at the major league level and carries no fantasy relevance on the Brewers' bench.
Apr 21 - 9:39 AM

Brewers manager Craig Counsell informed Alex Presley on Saturday that he will not make the club's Opening Day roster.

Presley now has 48 hours to find a major league offer from another club as a condition of his contract. His exclusion means that both Keon Broxton and Kirk Nieuwenhuis will make the Opening Day roster, though it remains unclear who will start in center field.
Apr 2 - 11:45 AM

Brewers signed OF Alex Presley to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Presley spent most of last season at Triple-A with the Astros, hitting .292/.345/.367 with three homers and 15 steals over 89 games. It's a good landing spot for him, as it remains to be seen whether Domingo Santana will hold up in center field defensively.

Alex Presley has accepted an assignment to Triple-A Fresno.

Presley had the option of electing free agency when he was moved off the Astros' 40-man roster last week, but the 30-year-old outfielder will remain with the organization. He is a .259/.299/.393 career hitter.

Astros sent OF Alex Presley outright to Triple-A Fresno.

It's the second time this season he's been removed from the 40-man roster. Presley can elect free agency if he wants.

Astros designated OF Alex Presley for assignment.

The move was made to create a spot on the roster for Scott Feldman who was activated from the disabled list on Saturday. Presley appeared in just eight games with the Astros this season, hitting .250/.308/.250 with five strikeouts in 12 at-bats. He should generate some interest on waivers.

The Astros will call up OF Alex Presley from Triple-A Fresno.

He's expected to replace George Springer, who left Wednesday night's game with a bruised wrist. The 29-year-old appeared in 89 games for Houston last season, batting .244 with six homers and 19 RBI. In 244 at-bats for Fresno this season, Presley has hit .308 with 10 steals and 35 RBI.

Astros sent OF Alex Presley outright to Triple-A Fresno.

Presley isn't a bad potential extra outfielder option, but he passed through waivers likely because teams weren't willing to pay his $1 million price tag. He had the opportunity to refuse the outright assignment and become a free agent but declined since it would have meant forfeiting the aforementioned contract.

Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle reports that Alex Presley has hit outright waivers.

Presley was designated for assignment last week and can now be snatched up by any team willing to take on his $1 million salary for 2015. If he's not claimed, he will presumably remain with the organization. He'd lose his $1 million salary if he opts for free agency.

Astros designated OF Alex Presley for assignment.

The Astros would reportedly like to hang on to Presley, who can play all three outfield spots and offers flexibility, but it's possible that they attempt to trade him. While his bat is no great shakes (.244/.281/.346 last season), he's has value as a major league bench piece.

Astros and OF Alex Presley avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1 million contract.

Presley was arbitration-eligible for the first time as a Super Two player. MLBTradeRumors.com projected him to earn $1.2 million, so it looks like the Astros might have gotten a small discount. Presley is a career .259/.299/.395 hitter over parts of five seasons and can play all three outfield spots.

Alex Presley went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in a win over the Mariners Sunday.

Presley's handprint was all over the offense, as he had a two-run single in the fifth inning before singling and scoring in the seventh. Presley also stole a run in that seventh inning, his fifth of the season. The 29-year-old, who missed time with an oblique injury this season, is hitting .256/.295/.366 on the season.
