Sammy Solis (elbow) began a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
He let up one run—it came on a solo blast by Pawtucket outfielder Rusney Castillo—and one walk in his lone inning of work. The left-hander induced three groundouts while throwing 10 of his 16 pitches for strikes. Solis has been sidelined with elbow inflammation for the past two months, but should be back in the Nats' bullpen before long. Jun 15 - 7:03 PM

Sammy Solis underwent an MRI on his ailing left elbow.

Solis tried playing catch a few days ago but said he had tingling in his fingers. It's obviously not a good sign, but more will be known after the exam results are in. Solis is a key part of the Nats bullpen, so losing him for a significant period of time would be a blow.

Nationals placed LHP Sammy Solis on the 10-day disabled list with left elbow inflammation.

Sammy Solis (shoulder) threw a 25-pitch mound session on Wednesday.
