Sammy Solis underwent an MRI on his ailing left elbow.

Solis tried playing catch a few days ago but said he had tingling in his fingers. It's obviously not a good sign, but more will be known after the exam results are in. Solis is a key part of the Nats bullpen, so losing him for a significant period of time would be a blow.

Nationals placed LHP Sammy Solis on the 10-day disabled list with left elbow inflammation.

Just when Solis might be healthy enough to return to action is not yet known. The 28-year-old southpaw struggled prior to going down injured, surrendering four runs on four hits over 4 1/3 innings. He walked three in that space.

Nationals activated LHP Sammy Solis from the 15-day disabled list.

Solis will be available out of the Nats' bullpen on Monday night against the Diamondbacks after missing about six weeks with left shoulder inflammation. The lefty reliever has posted an impressive 2.35 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 38 1/3 innings this season.

Sammy Solis (shoulder) threw another bullpen session Friday.

He'll throw another one Sunday before being re-evaluated. Barring a setback, Solis should rejoin the Nationals' bullpen next week.

Sammy Solis (shoulder) threw a 25-pitch mound session on Wednesday.

Solis reported no discomfort after the bullpen workout. He is not yet ready to face live hitters, but the hope is that another similar mound test or two will have him up-to-speed for the next phase of his rehab. The lefty reliever has been sidelined by left shoulder inflammation since August 17.

Nationals manager Dusty Baker said Friday that Sammy Solis (shoulder) has hit a "roadblock" in his recovery.

The skipper said that Solis is doing "fair" in his recovery from inflammation in his left shoulder, but he's been on the disabled list for two weeks and remains shut down. The Nats still hope Solis can return before the end of the season, but it doesn't look like a given.

Sammy Solis (shoulder) has yet to resume throwing.

Solis has been on the disabled list for two weeks with inflammation in his left shoulder and is apparently still not feeling well enough to pick up a ball. At this point, his return before the end of the regular season would seem to be in doubt.

Nationals placed LHP Sammy Solis on the 15-day disabled list with left shoulder inflammation.

Koda Glover has been called up from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding 25-man roster move. It's not clear how long this absence might last for Solis, who holds a sharp 2.35 ERA in 38 1/3 innings this season.

Nationals placed LHP Sammy Solis on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 8, with right knee inflammation.

The left-hander has been battling what manager Dusty Baker termed a "cranky" right knee. Solis has done a nice job out of the Nationals bullpen this season, compiling a 2.43 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 34/16 K/BB ratio across 29 2/3 innings. To fill his spot on the roster, Reynaldo Lopez will be called up from Double-A to join the Nationals rotation.
