Dodgers' manager Dave Roberts indicated Sunday that Charlie Culberson could remain on the club's active roster for the World Series, even if Corey Seager is activated.

Seager is expected to return for the World Series, which would have seemingly squeezed Culberson off of the roster, but Roberts was impressed with the way that the utility infielder performed in the NLCS against the Cubs where he slashed .455/.417/.818 in his 11 at-bats.

Charlie Culberson went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored as the Dodgers dispatched of the Cubs in Game 2 of the NLCS on Sunday night in Los Angeles.

After the Cubs fell behind 1-0 in the fifth inning, Culberson led off the home half of the inning with a double off of Jon Lester. He advanced to third on a ground ball and scored on Justin Turner's game-tying two-out RBI single. Culberson was added to the roster for his defensive prowess, as a replacement for the injured Corey Seager, but has hit .400 with a run scored and an RBI through his first two games.

The Dodgers will stick with Charlie Culberson as the shortstop for Game 2 of the NLCS against the Cubs on Sunday.

The 28-year-old is a defense-first shortstop and offers virtually nothing at the plate. Here's how the full lineup shakes out against Jon Lester and the Cubs: Chris Taylor CF, Justin Turner 3B, Cody Bellinger 1B, Kike Hernandez LF, Logan Forsythe 2B, Austin Barnes C, Yasiel Puig RF, Culberson SS, Rich Hill SP.

Charlie Culberson is starting at shortstop and batting eighth for the Dodgers in Saturday's NLCS Game 1 against the Cubs.

Culberson went from being left off the Dodgers' NLDS roster to a potentially key player in this series after All-Star starting shortstop Corey Seager was omitted from the team's Championship Series roster due to a lower back strain. The 28-year-old has just 411 major league at-bats since 2012, and he hit .154/.267/.231 in 15 games this year. The rest of the lineup has yet to be announced by the club.

Dodgers added Charlie Culberson to their roster for the NLCS against the Cubs.

He'll add infield depth for the Dodgers as they try to overcome the loss of Corey Seager to a back injury. He shouldn't be used as much more than a defensive replacement.

Dodgers sent INF Charlie Culberson outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The move removes the veteran infielder from the club's 40-man roster. As he just signed a one-year deal with the Dodgers worth $550,000, there's a decent chance he'll accept the assignment rather than sacrificing the guaranteed money and looking for a better opportunity elsewhere.
