Rangers prospect Luke Jackson will make his professional debut on Friday for Low-A Hickory.

Jackson was selected 45th overall in the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft and agreed to a $1.57 million signing bonus last August. He spent the last couple of weeks pitching in extended spring training games while the Rangers decided where to place him. The 19-year-old righty went 8-0 with a 0.90 ERA as a high school senior. Luke Jackson - S - Rangers

The Rangers agreed to terms with supplemental first-round pick right-hander Luke Jackson on a $1,557,000 bonus.

The Rangers are already spending plenty of bank. Jackson, who turns 19 later this month, committed to play at the University of Miami, however the significant signing bonus changed his mind. It's the fifth highest signing bonus we've seen so far. Selected No. 45 overall in June's draft, Jackson features a fastball that touches the mid-90s.

S	1	Matt Harrison D.L. Matt Harrison recently had a setback with his back that required an additional surgery on Wednesday. Harrison underwent an operation on April 23 to repair a herniated disk in his lower back but began feeling additional discomfort this week, necessitating another procedure. According to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com, the Rangers are "operating under the assumption that Harrison will pitch again this season, but he will be out for at least three months." In other words, we won't see him again until August at the earliest, and it seems like there's a good chance it will be longer than that. May 1

	4	Alexi Ogando D.L. Alexi Ogando (biceps) has been playing catch but said he is only throwing around "40 percent." "I don't know when they'll let me throw hard," the right-hander added. Ogando said that he's feeling better, so there's definitely some progress even if it might be coming slowly. There is no structural damage in Ogando's biceps, but it's unclear when he'll return. 	7	Colby Lewis D.L. Colby Lewis (elbow) acknowledged on Monday afternoon that he's unhappy with his fastball velocity. Lewis was sitting around 85-86 mph in his rehab start Monday at Double-A Frisco and wants to be closer to 89-91 mph by the time he returns to the major leagues. The hope had been that he would be ready to rock during the first week of June, but a more realistic timetable calls for him to be activated near the middle of the month. Lewis is on his way back from major right elbow surgery. May 20
	8	Neftali Feliz D.L. Neftali Feliz (elbow) is long-tossing at 120 feet. Feliz's rehab from Tommy John surgery is going fine, although it's not yet been announced when he'll be ready to throw off a mound. We expect him to return to a major league mound late in the summer. May 19

	2	Joakim Soria D.L. Joakim Soria (elbow) will be shut down for 2-3 weeks with a strained pectoral muscle and is now not expected to return until around July 1. A tough break for the Rangers, as Soria had been slated to join the Rangers' bullpen as soon as late next month. The good news is that his surgically-repaired elbow is fine.
