Rangers recalled RHP Luke Jackson from Triple-A Round Rock.

Jackson, a supplemental first-round pick from 2010, has mostly pitched out of the bullpen this season while putting up a 4.05 ERA with 71 strikeouts and 30 walks over 60 innings. The Rangers will likely ease the 23-year-old into the mix in lower leverage situations.

Rangers optioned RHP Luke Jackson to Triple-A Round Rock.

Jackson put up some promising numbers in Double-A last season, but he struggled with a promotion to Triple-A by putting up an ugly 10.35 ERA and 43/28 K/BB ratio in 40 innings across 10 starts and one relief appearance. Still, he's just 23 and remains one of the Rangers' top pitching prospects. He'll hope to take a step forward during his second stint in Triple-A.

Rangers purchased the contract of RHP Luke Jackson from Triple-A Round Rock.

Jackson struck out over a batter per inning but held a 5.40 ERA between Double- and Triple-A this past season. Still, the Rangers didn't want to expose the former sandwich round pick to the Rule 5 Draft.

Rangers prospect right-hander Luke Jackson struck out four batters en route to six shutout innings for Double-A Frisco on Wednesday.

Jackson allowed two singles, two doubles, and two walks while shutting down a solid San Antonio Missions lineup that included Reymond Fuentes, Rymer Liriano, and Austin Hedges. Jackson has 65 strikeouts and is holding opposing batters to a .191/.254/.280 line in 67 innings pitched. He has lowered his BB/9 rate to 2.3 from a career 4.3. If he keeps pitching well, he could spend some time in Arlington in September.

Rangers right-handed pitching prospect Luke Jackson struck out seven batters over five shutout innings for Double-A Frisco on Monday.

He scattered three singles and three walks, and he has a 3.00 ERA and a 1.000 WHIP. He has a 9.0 K/9, and is holding opposing batters to a .190/.260/.301 line for the season. If Jackson keeps pitching well, he could be in line for a September cup of coffee.

Rangers right-handed pitching prospect Luke Jackson was perfect through 5 2/3 innings on Monday, finishing the night with seven shutout innings.

Jackson only allowed three hits and struck out eight batters in his second consecutive dominant start for Double-A Frisco. His ERA is down to 2.95 on the year with a 0.938 WHIP and 8.4 K/9. The Rangers are struggling to find more than three consistent starters, and Jackson could be in the rotation in Arlington before the end of the season.

Rangers prospect RHP Luke Jackson fired six scoreless innings Tuesday for Double-A Frisco, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out eight batters.

Jackson, 22, was rocked for seven runs in 3 1/3 innings his last time out, so it was good to see him get back on track Tuesday. Overall, the right-hander owns a 4.40 ERA and 12/5 strikeout-to-walk ratio through 14 1/3 innings this season. Jackson is likely to contribute in the major leagues later this season if all goes as planned with his development.

Rangers prospect RHP Luke Jackson allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks in 3 1/3 innings for Double-A Frisco on Thursday.

A week after throwing five shutout innings in his season debut, Jackson, 22, recorded only one strikeout on Thursday and didn't escape the fourth inning. The right-hander enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2013 and finished the year at Double-A Frisco, where he posted a 0.67 ERA and 30/12 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 27 innings spanning four six appearances (four starts). Expect Jackson to bounce back from the rough outing next time out.

Rangers prospect RHP Luke Jackson was sharp once again on Sunday for Double-A Frisco, allowing one earned run on three hits and a walk over five innings with seven strikeouts.

Few pitchers have been better than Jackson since the beginning of August. In his first month at the Double-A level, the 21-year-old has registered a 0.39 ERA and 27/10 K/BB ratio in 23 innings. In general, the right-hander has taken a huge step forward this season, as evidenced by his impressive 2.03 ERA and 131/57 K/BB ratio in 124 innings between High-A Myrtle Beach and Frisco. He'll likely open the 2014 season back at Double-A with a chance to reach the major leagues later in the year.

Rangers prospect Luke Jackson tossed two scoreless innings in his debut with Double-A Frisco on Sunday.

The 21-year-old right-hander struck out four and walked a batter before he was lifted after two frames. His early departure from the start had nothing to do with an injury or poor performance, but rather the organization's desire to limit his workload over the remainder of the season. Jackson, the No. 45 overall selection in the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft, was promoted to Double-A after he registered a 2.41 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 104/47 K/BB ratio in 101 innings (19 starts) with High-A Myrtle Beach.

Rangers prospect Luke Jackson will make his professional debut on Friday for Low-A Hickory.

Jackson was selected 45th overall in the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft and agreed to a $1.57 million signing bonus last August. He spent the last couple of weeks pitching in extended spring training games while the Rangers decided where to place him. The 19-year-old righty went 8-0 with a 0.90 ERA as a high school senior.

The Rangers agreed to terms with supplemental first-round pick right-hander Luke Jackson on a $1,557,000 bonus.

The Rangers are already spending plenty of bank. Jackson, who turns 19 later this month, committed to play at the University of Miami, however the significant signing bonus changed his mind. It's the fifth highest signing bonus we've seen so far. Selected No. 45 overall in June's draft, Jackson features a fastball that touches the mid-90s.
