Robinson Lopez - S - Braves

Cubs released RHP Robinson Lopez.

Robinson, who turns 21 in March, was acquired from the Braves as part of the Derrek Lee deal in August of 2010. He pitched mostly as a reliever last season, posting a disappointing 5.35 ERA and 35/30 K/BB ratio over 69 innings with Class-A Peoria.

Robinson Lopez - S - Braves

Cubs acquired RHP Robinson Lopez, LHP Jeffrey Lorick and RHP Tyrelle Harris from the Braves for 1B Derrek Lee.

The 19-year-old Lopez is already starting games at the Single-A level, but the results haven't been so strong. Through 92 2/3 total innings this season, he has posted a 4.37 ERA, 70/43 K/BB ratio and 1.37 WHIP.

It was his first game action since undergoing Tommy John surgery last June. Beachy is expected to make around five starts in the minors, so he should be an option for the Braves' rotation in 3-4 weeks if he can avoid setbacks. May 25

	2	Jonny Venters D.L. Jonny Venters underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery on Thursday afternoon. It's the second time he's had the procedure in his baseball career. Venters can now be ruled out for the remainder of the 2013 season and is also likely to miss the first couple months of the 2014 campaign. It's obviously a pretty big loss for the Atlanta bullpen. 	3	Eric O'Flaherty D.L. Eric O'Flaherty will undergo Tommy John surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn left ulnar collateral ligament. It was inevitable after an MRI over the weekend revealed the bad news. In addition to obviously missing the rest of this season, O'Flaherty will likely be sidelined for the first couple months of the 2014 campaign, as well. May 20
	4	Jordan Walden D.L. Jordan Walden (shoulder) threw a bullpen session at Citi Field on Friday. If Walden can avoid setbacks, he should be cleared for a rehab assignment and rejoin the Braves at some point next week. With Eric O'Flaherty out for the season, Walden is likely to return in a setup role with Luis Avilan. May 25
	5	Luis Ayala D.L. Braves placed RHP Luis Ayala on the 15-day disabled list with anxiety disorder. Obviously it's impossible to predict how much time Ayala might miss. David Carpenter has been recalled to take his spot in the bullpen. Apr 30
	6	Cristhian Martinez D.L. Cristhian Martinez (shoulder) still doesn't have a timetable for his return. The Braves reliever has been sidelined since April 12 with a right shoulder sprain, and apparently it was serious enough that the Braves still don't have any idea when he might be back. The right-hander had a 3.91 ERA with 65 strikeouts in 73 2/3 innings last year. May 4
