Athletics released LHP Bobby Cramer.
Cramer was designated for assignment earlier this month. The 31-year-old left-hander made his major league debut last September and actually had a 2.53 ERA and 19/7 K/BB ratio over four starts and five relief appearances with the A's. He's had some back issues recently, but should get an opportunity elsewhere. Mon, Jul 11, 2011 05:27:00 PM

Athletics designated LHP Bobby Cramer for assignment.

He was cleared to make room for Rich Harden on the 40-man roster. Cramer has a 1.08 ERA and 6/1 K/BB ratio over 8 1/3 innings with the big club this season, but was sent back down to the minors in the early part of June. The 31-year-old southpaw could draw some interest on the waiver wire.

Athletics optioned LHP Bobby Cramer to Triple-A Sacramento.

Cramer threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings Thursday and has allowed just one run over 8 1/3 frames across multiple stints with the big club this season. But, the A's needed to clear a spot for Friday starter Graham Godfrey, and since Cramer isn't fresh, he's the one to go.

Athletics recalled LHP Bobby Cramer from Triple-A Sacramento.

He will presumably take Brett Anderson's place in the starting rotation. Cramer has made three relief appearances for the A's this season, but went 2-1 with a 3.04 ERA and 13/6 K/BB ratio in four starts as a September call-up last season. We wouldn't go crazy to add him in fantasy leagues.

The Athletics have summoned left-hander Bobby Cramer from Triple-A Sacramento.

No official roster move yet, but this likely means that the A's plan to place Brett Anderson on the disabled list. If so, Cramer would get the ball Friday against the White Sox.

A's optioned LHP Bobby Cramer to Triple-A Sacramento.

Cramer didn't make any appearances out of the bullpen after being called up Friday. He'll return to Sacramento's rotation.

Athletics recalled LHP Bobby Cramer from Triple-A Sacramento.

Cramer, 31, has posted a 4.60 ERA and 18/6 K/BB ratio over four starts at the Triple-A level since being demoted in late-April. It looks like he'll pitch out of the bullpen for now, but he could eventually be a consideration for the starting rotation if Josh Outman or Guillermo Moscoso struggle.

Bobby Cramer is nursing a sore oblique and won't be called up to take Tyson Ross' rotation spot.

Ross was lifted from his Thursday afternoon outing against the Twins after straining his left oblique. He's likely to be placed on the disabled list Friday. Cramer, however, will not be his replacement.

Athletics optioned RHP Bobby Cramer to Triple-A Sacramento.

He was cleared to make room for the newly-activated Michael Wuertz on the active roster. Cramer was named to the Athletics' Opening Day roster, but was essentially the last man out of Bob Geren's bullpen, making just three appearances.

Bobby Cramer earned a spot in the A's bullpen.

Cramer beat out the younger and more talented Tyson Ross for the final spot in the season-opening 'pen. He will operate mostly in low-pressure relief situations.

Bobby Cramer was lit up by the White Sox Friday, giving up eight runs on nine hits and a walk over three innings.

He struck out two batters and allowed three home runs. Cramer admitted that he tweaked his back in the first inning while trying to pick a runner off first base and didn't feel the same after that. Unfortunately for him, that excuse isn't likely to matter, as his outside shot at the No. 5 spot in the rotation likely went by the wayside after this effort.

Bobby Cramer held the Angels to one run and three hits over 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision Wednesday.

With a 3.04 ERA in four starts since making his major league debut earlier this month, the 30-year-old Cramer has made a definite case for remaining on Oakland's 40-man roster this winter. It'd be bad news if he starts next year in the team's rotation, but he'd be nice to have stashed away as Triple-A depth.

30-year-old left-hander Bobby Cramer held the Royals to one run in 5 1/3 innings to pick up a win Monday in his major league debut.

A Mike Aviles homer was the only damage. Cramer struck out four and walked one in the outing. He's a long shot to be included in Oakland's 2011 plans, but he's getting a chance to catch some eyes now after being signed out of the Mexican League. If he remains in the rotation, he'll face the Twins this weekend.

Athletics purchased the contract of LHP Bobby Cramer from Triple-A Sacramento.

He's likely to take the place of Vin Mazzaro in the starting rotation next Monday or Tuesday against the Royals. If so, the A's would have four left-handed starters. Cramer, 30, was signed out of the independent Mexican League to post a 1.94 ERA and 35/11 K/BB ratio over seven starts with Triple-A Sacramento this season. He's a great story, but we wouldn't bank on an unknown quantity in fantasy leagues.
