George Springer was on base five times Tuesday, collecting three hits and drawing two walks in a win over the Orioles.
Springer had a double to go with two singles in four official at-bats. The travesty is that he never came around to score, nor did he drive in a run from the leadoff spot. Springer had a 10-game hitting streak snapped Sunday, and Tuesday's good showing has his overall line up to .265/.364/.464. Perhaps Tuesday will be the start of another streak. May 25 - 12:58 AM

George Springer is batting leadoff for the Astros on Tuesday night against the Orioles.

Jose Altuve will bat second as manager A.J. Hinch tries to spark a fire. Springer batted leadoff in one game earlier this month, but he's otherwise hit second. The 26-year-old outfielder enters play Tuesday with a .254/.350/.452 batting line in 45 games.

George Springer launched a grand slam over the Green Monster Saturday in a loss to the Red Sox.

It was Springer's only hit of the afternoon. The 26-year-old now has two career grand slams with both coming this season. He's made the most of his first trip to Fenway, going 6-for-15 with eight RBI over his last three games. The Connecticut native still strikes out too much but he's quietly developed into one of the game's better power hitters. Right now he's on pace for 38 HR and 107 RBI. We've waited a long time to see Springer put it all together. In year three, it's finally happening.
May 14 - 6:19 PM

George Springer did the heavy lifting for the Astros’ offense on Friday by going 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs scored in a 7-6 win over the Red Sox.

A big night for Springer, who delivered a two-run double in a four-run fifth inning before launching a go-ahead two-run homer off former University of Connecticut teammate Matt Barnes in the sixth. The 26-year-old has amassed eight home runs and 21 RBI to go along with an .863 OPS so far this season, so he’s doing his part from a power perspective, but he’s just 2-for-7 in stolen base attempts thus far. That’s not what fantasy owners were hoping for.
May 13 - 11:58 PM

George Springer hit a two-run home run and scored twice as the Astros topped the Twins 6-4 on Tuesday.

Springer's two-run shot in the fourth inning was his second homer in as many games, giving him six in all. He's got 14 RBI and 16 runs scored to go with those six dingers. There are some highs and lows that come with the 26-year-old's offensive game, but he's hitting .274/.347/.500 through 27 games, a line the Astros will certainly take over a full season.
May 4 - 12:50 AM

George Springer went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.

Springer followed Jose Altuve's solo blast in the seventh inning with one of his own, his fourth homer of the year. Springer has been on a tear since entering the weekend batting .200, as he's 8-for-17 with homers in three straight games, four RBI and five runs scored in his last four contests. The scalding stretch has his season line up to .281/.328/.544 with nine RBI and eight runs scored.
Apr 20 - 12:49 AM

George Springer went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in the first inning, although the Astros went on to lose versus the Tigers on Saturday.

Springer boasts one of the best power/speed packages in baseball. He hit 16 homers and stole 16 bases in an injury-shortened season in 2015, and fantasy owners projected big things coming into this year. He's spun his wheels a bit -- he's only hitting .250/.308/.417 with one stolen base -- but Saturday's three-hit performance is hopefully a harbinger for things to come.
Apr 16 - 11:09 PM

George Springer went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts on Friday against the Brewers.

Springer connected for a grand slam on Wednesday, but otherwise he has had a very quiet first week. The 26-year-old is just 2-for-17 (.118) to begin the year. The strikeouts are worth watching after he made considerable progress in that area last year, but we’re expecting a big step forward if he can stay healthy for a full season.
Apr 9 - 12:25 AM

George Springer notched his first two home runs of the spring on Monday against the Braves.

He also added a single, reaching base in all three of his plate appearances while scoring a trio of runs. While the home runs had been lacking prior to Monday, Springer is now batting .300 this spring. He has one of the better power/speed combos in the game and should be in for a big season as long as he can stay healthy.
Mar 28 - 9:02 PM

George Springer tripled, singled, walked and scored three times Thursday against the Blue Jays.

If he can stay healthy, Springer could have a huge fantasy campaign batting second for the Astros. He does seem like a weaker bet than most to make it through 155 games, but expect him to do big things while he's in the lineup.
Mar 17 - 4:41 PM

Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Astros are open to moving George Springer "if the haul is big enough."

The "if the haul is big enough" part is a key caveat there. It would obviously take a blockbuster deal for the Astros to part with him, but the club is keeping an open mind as they attempt to upgrade in other areas. Drellich reports that the team is also drawing interest in Carlos Gomez, with the Cubs as one potential fit, but they are hesitant to deal him.

George Springer went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Springer and Jose Altuve (who tripled) were the only Astros to collect extra-base hits in the contest. The 26-year-old outfielder heads to the post-season having turned in a 2015 campaign that featured a .276/.367/.459 triple-slash, 16 homers and 41 RBI over 388 at-bats. And he's entering Tuesday's Wild Card showdown with the Yankees on fire, having picked up multiple hits in each of his last six games. Over that span, he's socked four doubles, clocked two home runs and driven in four.

George Springer went 3-for-5 with an RBI double, but the Astros fell 6-4 to the Mariners on Tuesday.

Springer ripped an RBI double in the fifth inning to give the Astros a temporary 3-2 lead. He has solid numbers near the end of the regular season, batting .268/.361/.447 with 15 home runs, 39 RBI, 54 runs scored, and 15 stolen bases in 429 plate appearances.
Wed, Sep 30, 2015 01:44:00 AM

George Springer went 2-for-3 with a double and a solo home run as the Astros beat the Mariners on Monday.

Springer hit the first of two solo home runs in the first inning against Roenis Elias. It's his 15th of the year, but only his second since returning from the disabled list on September 4. He's also carrying a .264/.358/.442 batting line with 38 RBI.
Tue, Sep 29, 2015 01:15:00 AM

George Springer is not in the Astros' lineup Sunday.

Springer started each of the club's first two games since being being activated from the disabled list but is getting a breather in this one. Colby Rasmus has shifted over to right field and Marwin Gonzalez is in left.
