Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Astros are open to moving George Springer "if the haul is big enough."
The "if the haul is big enough" part is a key caveat there. It would obviously take a blockbuster deal for the Astros to part with him, but the club is keeping an open mind as they attempt to upgrade in other areas. Drellich reports that the team is also drawing interest in Carlos Gomez, with the Cubs as one potential fit, but they are hesitant to deal him. Wed, Dec 9, 2015 01:05:00 PM

George Springer went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Springer and Jose Altuve (who tripled) were the only Astros to collect extra-base hits in the contest. The 26-year-old outfielder heads to the post-season having turned in a 2015 campaign that featured a .276/.367/.459 triple-slash, 16 homers and 41 RBI over 388 at-bats. And he's entering Tuesday's Wild Card showdown with the Yankees on fire, having picked up multiple hits in each of his last six games. Over that span, he's socked four doubles, clocked two home runs and driven in four.

Springer ripped an RBI double in the fifth inning to give the Astros a temporary 3-2 lead. He has solid numbers near the end of the regular season, batting .268/.361/.447 with 15 home runs, 39 RBI, 54 runs scored, and 15 stolen bases in 429 plate appearances.

George Springer went 2-for-3 with a double and a solo home run as the Astros beat the Mariners on Monday.

Springer hit the first of two solo home runs in the first inning against Roenis Elias. It's his 15th of the year, but only his second since returning from the disabled list on September 4. He's also carrying a .264/.358/.442 batting line with 38 RBI.

George Springer is not in the Astros' lineup Sunday.

Springer started each of the club's first two games since being being activated from the disabled list but is getting a breather in this one. Colby Rasmus has shifted over to right field and Marwin Gonzalez is in left.

George Springer (wrist) will be activated from the disabled list as soon as Friday.

Springer will talk to Astros manager A.J. Hinch on Thursday after what could be his final rehab game with Double-A Corpus Christi. Assuming he tells the skipper that his wrist feels fine, he should be back in the Astros' lineup on Friday. Springer has four hits in 16 at-bats in his first four rehab games with Corpus Christi. He's been sidelined since early July with a fractured right wrist.

"George is ready to go," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said Friday of Springer. "Today was one of the best days he's had." Springer is hoping to be activated by the Astros sometime next week if all goes well. He's been sidelined since early July with a fractured right wrist.

George Springer (wrist) will take batting practice on Monday.

George Springer (wrist) will take live batting practice sometime this week during the Astros' road trip.

He recently began hitting off a tee and is close to taking the next step. There's a chance Springer could also be ready to begin a rehab assignment before the end of the week. He's tracking toward an activation on or around September 1.

George Springer (wrist) has progressed to hitting off a tee.

He could begin a rehab assignment before the end of Houston's upcoming six-game road trip. Springer was off to a promising start before suffering a broken wrist on July 2. Jake Marisnick and Colby Rasmus have split time in right field during his absence.

George Springer (wrist) has begun taking dry swings with a fungo bat.

Springer also played catch Tuesday without issue. He's progressing slowly but surely from a fractured right wrist and should be good to join the Astros at some point in early September if he's able to avoid setbacks. The dynamic young outfielder has been out since July 2.

George Springer (wrist) is expected to resume swinging a bat soon.

Springer's recovery from a fractured right wrist has been painfully slow, as he's already missed almost seven weeks and is still limited to strengthening exercises. It does appear that he's finally making some strides, though, as he'll travel with the Astros on their road trip that begins in a week. A return before the end of August is looking unlikely at this point.

George Springer will be examined within the next two weeks to see how his fractured right wrist is healing.

Springer has already missed four weeks of action and it sounds like he might be out longer than the six-week timetable that was given. The outfielder has been shagging flyballs and staying active, but he's "not doing anything really with his right hand," according to Astros manager A.J. Hinch.
