George Springer went 2-for-5 with a homer and two runs scored in a 5-1 victory over the Dodgers in Game 7 of the 2017 World Series on Wednesday to give the Astros their first ever world championship.
Springer did all of his damage in the first two innings, but what an incredible two innings it was. He started the game with a double down the line, and he scored after a silly error by Cody Bellinger a batter later. An inning later, he took a hanging fruit of a pitch by Yu Darvish and drilled it 438 (estimated) feet to give the Astros a 5-0 lead. After going 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in Game 1, Springer was the best hitter for Houston the rest of the series and was named MVP. Expect another step forward for the star outfielder in 2018. George Springer went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk in the Astros' World Series Game 6 loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Springer went deep off Dodgers starter Rich Hill in the top of the third inning for the first run of the game, but that was all the meaningful offense Houston could muster in an eventual 3-1 defeat at Dodger Stadium. Springer has four home runs in the 2017 World Series and all of them have been either of the game-tying or go-ahead variety. He'll be raring to go for Game 7 on Wednesday.
Nov 1 - 12:00 AM

George Springer reached base five times and clubbed his third home run of the World Series as the Astros beat the Dodgers to take Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday.

Springer finished the night 2-for-3 and also drew three walks. His solo home run came on the first pitch of the seventh inning, tying the score at 8-8 after his own defensive miscue led to the Dodgers taking the lead in the top half of the inning. He's slashing .266/.365/.516 with four homers and six RBI in the playoffs.
Oct 30 - 1:47 AM

George Springer hit a solo home run in the sixth inning of Saturday's loss to the Dodgers in Game 4 of the World Series.

Dodgers starter Alex Wood hadn't allowed a hit -- let alone a run -- through 5 2/3 innings before Springer stepped up and smashed a Wood breaking ball over the left field wall to give the Astros a lead. Unfortunately for Springer and the Astros, though, the lead would be short-lived, and the solo shot would end up being one of only two hits the Houston bunch would manage in the contest. Springer now has three home run in 15 games this postseason.
Oct 28 - 11:33 PM

George Springer smacked a two-run homer in the top of the 11th inning to help give Houston a 7-6 victory over the Dodgers on Wednesday in Game 2 of the World Series.

This was one of the most exciting postseason games of recent memory, and we've had some really good ones. Springer came into this game struggling, but he was outstanding on Wednesday. He opened the game with a walk, knocked in a run on a hard-hit single in the third, and crushed a two-run homer in the top of the 11th off of Brandon McCarthy to give Houston a 7-5 lead. When Springer is on and able to recognize pitches, there are very few better hitting outfielders in baseball. Game 3 is on Friday in Houston.
Oct 26 - 12:41 AM

George Springer ripped a solo home run and reached base three times in Friday's win over the Red Sox.

The longball was a bit of a cheap one, as it was a low liner that just barely cleared the short right-field wall at Minute Maid Park. But, hey, it counts all the same. Springer also had a bloop double and a walk, scoring a pair of runs. The Astros have scored eight runs in each of the first two games of the ALDS.
Oct 6 - 6:18 PM

George Springer is not in the Astros' lineup Sunday.

The Astros are running out a lineup composed mostly of backups in their final regular season contest. They have Tyler White, Tony Kemp and Derek Fisher in the outfield.
