Mason Tobin (elbow) threw for 10 teams Thursday and reportedly touched 94 mph, according to his agent, Steve Canter.

Tobin is coming back from his second Tommy John surgery, but it appears that he's now healthy. The 25-year-old has appeared in just four games over the last three years, but he put up some nice numbers in the minors back in 2007 and 2008, so someone will likely take a shot on him.

Rangers sent RHP Mason Tobin outright to Triple-A Round Rock.

Tobin, a Rule 5 pick last December, will stay with the Rangers after the Angels declined to take him back. The 24-year-old appeared in four games at the big league level this season before suffering an elbow injury which eventually resulted in surgery.

The Rangers announced that right-hander Mason Tobin underwent elbow surgery Wednesday.

The surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews. We don't know the specific nature of the procedure, but the Rangers said they "will have more information at a later date." It's worth noting that he underwent Tommy John surgery two years ago. Tobin, 23, was selected from the Angels (by way of the Cubs) in December's Rule 5 Draft.

Mason Tobin has been diagnosed with right ulnar collateral ligament inflammation.

Tobin was placed on the 60-day disabled list Wednesday afternoon and can probably be written off for the entire first half of the season. He had Tommy John surgery two years ago and clearly hasn't recovered yet.

Rangers placed RHP Mason Tobin on the 60-day disabled list with a right elbow injury.

Tobin was lifted from Tuesday's game after feeling pain in his elbow, the same elbow that underwent Tommy John surgery two years ago. He could be out a while.

Mason Tobin left Tuesday's game with pain in his right elbow.

Not a good sign, as Tobin missed most of the last two seasons while recovering from Tommy John surgery. The Rangers will almost surely stash the Rule 5 pick on the DL, but they'll be hoping the elbow malady isn't serious. He'll have an MRI Wednesday.

Mason Tobin has made the Rangers' Opening Day roster.

The young reliever gave up six runs -- four earned -- and fanned nine in 9 2/3 innings this spring. He is two years removed from Tommy John surgery and appears to be fully recovered.

Mason Tobin will miss workouts Wednesday due to "general soreness."

Tobin has been limited to just three appearances over the past two seasons due to Tommy John surgery, so the Rangers will take every precaution. The 23-year-old right-hander was selected from the Angels (by way of the Cubs) in December's Rule 5 Draft and is expected to compete for a bullpen spot during spring training. It's worth noting that he could stick with the club if he opens the season on the disabled list.

Cubs selected RHP Mason Tobin from the Angels with the eighth pick in the Rule 5 Draft; traded him to the Rangers for cash considerations.

Tobin underwent Tommy John surgery in April of 2009 and has made just three appearances over the past two seasons. However, he has a legitimate power arm, with a fastball that touches the mid-90s. Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said Thursday that he hopes Tobin can win a spot in the bullpen during spring training.
