Clint Robinson crushed a two-run homer off Noah Syndergaard to carry the Nationals to victory over the Mets on Friday.
The second-inning home run provided all the runs his team would need to win the 3-1 game. Robinson doesn't get enough playing time to make himself worthy of starting in fantasy lineups. He has spent all year in the majors yet has only 91 at-bats. His .220 batting average won't convince Dusty Baker to put him in the lineup. Fri, Jul 8, 2016 11:46:00 PM

Clint Robinson powered the Nationals to a 5-4 win over the Tigers with a walk-off solo homer against Mark Lowe.

Danny Espinosa struck out looking to begin the ninth inning, which led to home plate umpire Brian Knight ejecting Bryce Harper from the ballgame. That would have been a big loss if the game went into extras, but fortunately for the Nationals, it didn’t matter, as Robinson quickly took Lowe deep to end it. Robinson was a pleasant surprise last season, but he has struggled in sporadic playing time this year, batting .185/.281/.407 over 16 games.

Clint Robinson homered and walked against the Mets on Sunday.

With Tyler Moore gone, Robinson is now the Nationals' sole backup at first base, which could make him a pretty valuable player if and when Ryan Zimmerman gets hurt. Unfortunately, Robinson probably isn't going to start anywhere besides first. The Nats gave him some time in the outfield last year, but they already have four quality options for three spots there.

Clint Robinson went 2-for-4 with a solo homer as the Nationals took the first game of Saturday's doubleheader over the Mets.

Robinson's seventh-inning blast vs. Noah Syndergaard was no cheapie, as it landed a few rows from the top of the second deck in right field. The 30-year-old has been a pleasant surprise for Washington this season, batting .272 with 10 home runs and a .787 OPS in 124 games.

Clint Robinson clobbered his eighth home run of the season as the Nationals outlasted the Marlins 5-4 in 10 innings on Friday.

Robinson got the Nationals on the board in the second inning with an impressive home run off Marlins hurler Jose Fernandez. He also singled and drew a pair of walks in the contest, finishing the night 2-for-3 and reaching base safely in four of his five trips. He has done a nice job in a reserve role for the Nationals, slashing .279/.375/.434 with eight long balls and 32 RBI.

Clint Robinson went 2-for-4 with a walk in his return to the lineup Monday against the Phillies.

Robinson had been away from the team since last Wednesday for the birth of his child. The 30-year-old has quietly had a nice season for Washington, batting .276/.372/.424 with seven home runs and 31 RBI over 108 games.

Clint Robinson is away from the Nationals in order to attend the birth of his first child.

It's unclear how long he'll be away. Robinson is hitting .272/.368/.423 with seven homers in a part-time role with the Nats this season.

Clint Robinson was a late scratch from the Nationals lineup on Friday due to illness.

Matt den Dekker replaced him in the starting lineup and will hit eighth for the Nationals. Look for Robinson to return to action in a day or two.

Clint Robinson doubled, walked twice and scored twice Thursday against the Pirates.

Where would the Nationals be without Robinson? Well, probably in first place, because the rest of the NL East is so awful. Robinson, though, has hit .295 with four homers, seven doubles and a 13/16 K/BB ratio over 105 at-bats since Ryan Zimmerman went on the DL on June 11. It really looks like the Nats will be downgrading if they simply reinstall Zimmerman at first base when he comes off the DL.

Clint Robinson blasted a two-run homer on Friday, powering the Nationals to a 2-1 victory over the Giants.

Jake Peavy and Gio Gonzalez were locked in a scoreless pitcher's duel until the seventh inning when Buster Posey cranked a solo homer to give the Giants the lead. It would be short-lived though, as Robinson blasted his two-run shot in the bottom half of the inning, proving to be the difference in the game. He has done a nice job in limited action for the Nationals, slashing .264/.338/424 with four homers and 15 RBI.

Clint Robinson had a career night at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a solo home run, an RBI double, and three runs scored.

Robinson was the bookend on the Nationals' six-run second inning, hitting a solo home run to start the scoring and rapping an RBI double for the sixth run as the Nats batted around. Robinson had recorded three hits in a game only once earlier this season against the Phillies, so the four-hit performance sets a new career-best. Robinson is getting regular playing time with Ryan Zimmerman on the shelf, but only has value in NL-only leagues at the moment.

Clint Robinson hit a two-run double in Sunday's win over the Brewers.

Robinson finished the contest 2-for-4 with two RBI. His seventh-inning double for two runs made the score 4-0 and gave Nationals starter Max Scherzer a bit of breathing room. Over 77 at-bats, Robinson's hitting .260/.305/.377 with one homer and six RBI. He should continue to see additional playing time with Ryan Zimmerman out injured.

Clint Robinson went 2-for-4 and hit his first big-league homer Thursday against the Brewers.

Robinson has been lucky to last on the Nationals' roster after his slow start, but now he's going to get a chance to capitalize on Ryan Zimmerman's injury with additional playing time at first base. He'll have to share duties with Tyler Moore, but he should have some short-term NL-only value.

Clint Robinson is starting in left field and batting fifth on Thursday afternoon against the Mets.

A tough assignment for the 30-year-old Robinson, who has logged just 14 career major league at-bats but will relied on for some punch in this one against Mets ace Matt Harvey. The full lineup for Washington: Michael Taylor CF, Yunel Escobar 3B, Bryce Harper RF, Ryan Zimmerman 1B, Clint Robinson LF, Ian Desmond SS, Dan Uggla 2B, Jose Lobaton C, Stephen Strasburg SP.

Nationals purchased the contract of 1B Clint Robinson from Triple-A Syracuse.

It's a nice story, as the 30-year-old Robinson has played just 13 games in the majors during his career. He earned the spot after batting .327 (16-for-49) with two homers, five doubles, and one triple over 26 games this spring. Look for him to serve as a backup at first base and the outfield.
