Moore had been removed from the 40-man roster but has cleared waivers and will remain in the organization. The 25-year-old missed the entire 2012 season following hip surgery.

Angels transferred OF Jeremy Moore (hip) to the 60-day disabled list.

It means the earliest Moore could return is May 26, but he won't be ready until late-June at the earliest after undergoing surgery on March 26. Moore is unlikely to set foot in the big leagues before rosters are expanded in September.

Moore underwent surgery last week on his left hip and is expected to miss the first 3-5 months of the 2012 season. He batted .298/.331/.545 last year in the minors.

Angels outfield prospect Jeremy Moore will undergo hip surgery and is expected to miss 3-5 months.

Moore is set to undergo the procedure Monday and said he hopes to ''put on 10 pounds of muscle.'' He is expected to be sent to Triple-A Salt Lake once he recovers. The 24-year-old speedster hit .298/.331/.545 with 15 homers, 66 RBI and 21 stolen bases in 460 minor-league plate appearances last season.

The 24-year-old speedster has been bothered by a bone spur since the start of spring training. Moore will presumably be sent to Triple-A Salt Lake once he recovers from the hip procedure. He hit .298/.331/.545 with 15 homers, 66 RBI and 21 stolen bases in 460 minor-league plate appearances last year.

Angels purchased the contract of OF Jeremy Moore from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Moore, 24, batted .298/.331/.545 with 15 homers, 66 RBI and 21 stolen bases over 460 plate appearances at the Triple-A level this season. The 2005 sixth-round pick has good power and speed, but his plate discipline remains a glaring weakness. He projects as a potential fourth outfielder in the long-term.
