Mariners signed RHP Justin De Fratus to a one-year, $750,000 contract.
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman was first on the scene to report De Fratus' deal with Seattle. It's official now. The 27-year-old right-hander struggled with the Phillies in 2015, pitching to a 5.51 ERA with a 68/32 K/BB ratio across 80 innings. The sub-par numbers ultimately earned De Fratus an outrighting from the club in October. He opted for free agency instead of an assignment to Triple-A. While 2015 was a painful year on the statistical side, De Fratus held a 2.39 ERA over 52 2/3 innings in 2014, making this a decent low-risk acquisition by the M's. Wed, Dec 2, 2015 05:43:00 PM

He's expected to receive $750,000, with the chance to earn more with incentives. Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune first reported the team's interest in De Fratus. The 27-year-old is coming off a disappointing 5.51 ERA and 68/32 K/BB ratio over 80 innings with the Phillies, but he has enjoyed some success in the past.

Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports that the Mariners are showing interest in Justin De Fratus.

De Fratus elected free agency in October after being outrighted off the Phillies' 40-man roster. He held an ugly 5.51 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 68/32 K/BB ratio over 80 innings in 2015 but entered the campaign with a career 3.08 ERA across 130 relief appearances.
