Nationals sent RHP Erik Davis outright to Triple-A Syracuse.
Davis was designated for assignment earlier in January and passed through waivers untouched. While he's being outrighted to Triple-A, he will receive an invite to spring training. The 29-year-old right-hander completed his recovery from Tommy John surgery in 2015 and recovered his health well enough to pitch to a serviceable 3.88 ERA and 47/27 K/BB ratio over 48 2/3 innings in three minor league stops. While he was called up to the big league club in September, he didn't appear in a game. Davis hasn't pitched in the majors since 2013. Jan 13 - 4:36 PM
