Avisail Garcia went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's win over the Royals.

After a relatively quiet first half, Garcia's second half is off to a good start. The 24-year-old hasn't homered since way back on June 8 and it's worth wondering how much power upside he truly has. His fly ball rate is among the lowest in the majors, so he might not be able to take advantage of playing half of his games in hitter-friendly U.S. Cellular Field.
Jul 18 - 12:20 AM

Avisail Garcia went 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI against the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Garcia's .283 average is fine, but he's not doing enough else to be a useful regular for the White Sox. He has just 16 extra-base hits in 276 at-bats, he's walked 15 times, he's been caught stealing in half of his attempts and he's failed to play above average defense in right field. He's still just 24, but he's far from looking like a future star.
Jul 9 - 2:14 AM

Avisail Garcia is out of Thursday's lineup against the Pirates.

Garcia has really faded since hurting his knee in late May, so a day off could be good for him. J.B. Shuck will start in right field.
Jun 18 - 5:24 PM

Avisail Garcia's two-run home run proved the difference as the White Sox held off the Astros on Monday.

Garcia, who finished 1-for-2, broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the White Sox a 3-1 lead. He's gone yard seven times this year, including three times in his last four games. Garcia is batting .296/.351/.453 with 25 RBI as well.
Jun 8 - 11:41 PM

Avisail Garcia went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer during Sunday's loss to the Tigers.

After a miserable Saturday in which he went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against David Price, Garcia ended his week on a more positive note, hitting a three-run homer off of Alfredo Simon in the first inning. Garcia also homered on Friday. Last season, he set a career high for homers with seven, a number which he'll be flying by soon enough, as he's already hit six long balls in 177 at-bats.
Jun 7 - 5:10 PM

Avisail Garcia was drilled by an Alex Wilson fastball with the bases loaded in the 11th inning on Friday, propelling the White Sox to a walkoff 4-3 victory.

It had looked bleak for the White Sox as they were down to their final out in the ninth inning before Adam LaRoche belted a game-tying homer off Joakim Soria to force extra innings. Garcia launched a solo shot of his own in the seventh inning, finishing the night 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI.
Jun 5 - 11:31 PM

Avisail Garcia (knee) is back in the White Sox starting lineup Saturday versus the Astros.

Garcia missed several games with discomfort in his right knee. The rest should do him some good in the long term. He's batting .327/.365/.456 with four home runs and 18 RBI in 39 games this season for the Pale Hose.
May 30 - 12:54 PM

Avisail Garcia (knee) expects to return to the White Sox lineup on Saturday.

He hasn't played since aggravating his knee injury during Monday's game. It's the type of injury that isn't serious enough to land him on the disabled list, but could continue to crop up here and there throughout the grind of the MLB season.
May 29 - 9:21 PM

Avisail Garcia (knee) remained out of the White Sox' lineup Friday.

Garcia hasn't played since aggravating his right knee injury during Monday's game. He is progressing, though, as he did some running and will hit and take flyballs during batting practice before the game. It sounds like he could be back in the lineup at some point over the weekend. J.B. Shuck is in right field Friday.
May 29 - 4:50 PM

White Sox manager Robin Ventura confirmed that Avisail Garcia (knee) won't play in either half of Thursday's doubleheader at Baltimore's Camden Yards.

Garcia hasn't played since leaving Monday's game in Toronto with discomfort in his right knee. It's something that has been bothering him for a couple of weeks, so the White Sox want to give him some extended rest. The 23-year-old is batting .327/.365/.456 with four home runs and 18 RBI in 39 games this season. J.B. Shuck is in right field in the first half Thursday.
May 28 - 11:25 AM

Avisail Garcia (knee) is not in the White Sox starting lineup for the first half of Thursday's doubleheader.

He might also sit out the second half. Garcia left Monday's game in Toronto after experiencing renewed discomfort in his right knee and the White Sox opted to keep him off the Rogers Centre turf for the remainder of that series. He remains day-to-day. J.B. Shuck is starting in right field on Thursday afternoon in Baltimore.
May 28 - 10:44 AM

Avisail Garcia (knee) won't return Wednesday.

Garcia left Monday's game in Toronto after experiencing renewed discomfort in his right knee and he is not in the lineup Tuesday. The White Sox have decided to keep him off the heavily-criticized new turf at Rogers Centre. J.B. Shuck is filling in for Chicago.
May 26 - 5:47 PM

Avisail Garcia (knee) is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Blue Jays.

Garcia left Monday's game with continued inflammation in his right knee and is considered day-to-day. J.B. Shuck will fill in Tuesday.
May 26 - 3:44 PM

Avisail Garcia is considered day-to-day after leaving Monday's game with more inflammation in his right knee.

Garcia had just returned to action on Sunday after missing two games with the ailment. He singled in his first at-bat Monday but then had to be taken out when the knee acted up on him again. It sets up as a sticky situation for fantasy owners, as Garcia's ailment doesn't appear bad enough to require a disabled list stint but he also might be in and out of the lineup.
