Avisail Garcia was removed for a pinch-hitter after going 0-for-2 in Friday's game against the Angels.
With Justin Morneau up, Garcia's primary role is to serve as a DH against left-handers. The problem there is that Garcia has been even worse against lefties than righties this year. He deserves to be in Triple-A, and there's a good chance he'll find himself there soon. Jul 16 - 1:10 AM

Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with an RBI double Friday against the Indians.

Garcia drove in the tying run in the top of the ninth inning before the Indians eventually won it on a walk-off homer from Carlos Santana. The 25-year-old has perked of late, hitting .375 (9-for-24) over his last six games, but he still has an underwhelming .260/.313/.385 batting line on the year and isn’t a recommended option in standard mixed fantasy leagues.

DHing and batting ninth, Avisail Garcia had two hits and two RBI against the Nationals on Wednesday.

The White Sox don't have much faith in Garcia at this point, but they also don't have anyone to replace him in the DH spot right now. They'll continue to keep their eyes open. At the moment, Garcia is hitting .248 with a .698 OPS.
Jun 9 - 12:03 AM

Avisail Garcia clubbed his fifth home run of the season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough to lead the White Sox to victory over the Royals.

Garcia blasted a three-run homer off Yordano Ventura in the fourth inning that increased the White Sox lead to 6-1. He also singled and scored in the contest, finishing the day 2-for-4. For the season, Garcia is hitting .259/.316/.424 with five homers and 18 RBI.
May 28 - 6:42 PM

Avisail Garcia is out of the White Sox starting lineup for the first game of Monday's doubleheader.

It'll be the third game off in a row for Garcia, who's batting .248/.313/.413 in 134 plate appearances this season. Brett Lawrie is at DH and Carlos Sanchez is at second base for Chicago in the early game versus Indians right-hander Mike Clevinger.
May 23 - 1:43 PM

Avisail Garcia is not in the White Sox starting lineup on Saturday.

It's the second day off in the past three games for Garcia. Jerry Sands is starting at first base and batting cleanup while Jose Abreu shifts over to the designated hitter role in the lineup.
May 21 - 11:29 AM

Avisail Garcia is not in the White Sox's starting lineup Thursday against the Astros.

Garcia is just getting a routine day off. Jerry Sands will serve as the DH and hit seventh. Garcia struggled in April (.214 AVG) but has bounced back by hitting .319 with a .373 OBP in May.
May 19 - 4:59 PM

Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with his fourth home run of the season Thursday against the Red Sox.

Garcia took Red Sox starter Henry Owens deep for a solo blast in the fourth inning. The homer was Garcia's second in his last five games. He's 10-for-22 with the two homers, five RBI and five run scored during a six-game hitting streak that's run his overall line up to a modest .230/.301/.446.
May 6 - 1:44 AM

Avisail Garcia (hamstring) is back in the White Sox's lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Sox.

He missed four games with a strained hamstring. Garcia will bat seventh and serve as the DH. Jerry Sands, who filled in during Garcia's short absence, will return to the bench. Garcia is only hitting .214 this year with a disappointing .291 on base percentage.
May 5 - 4:53 PM

Avisail Garcia (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Garcia is dealing with a tweaked hamstring suffered on Friday against the Orioles. After several days of rest, he had been hoping for a return to the lineup on Wednesday. The White Sox play the Red Sox again on Thursday and Garcia could conceivably crack the lineup for that one if the team feels comfortable with his health.
May 4 - 4:44 PM

Avisail Garcia (hamstring) is aiming to return to the White Sox starting lineup Wednesday.

Garcia tweaked his hamstring last Friday night and will take another day of rest Tuesday against the Red Sox. Jerry Sands is starting at DH and batting seventh.
May 3 - 5:02 PM

Avisail Garcia (hamstring) is not expected to be ready to play by Tuesday.

Garcia tweaked his hamstring on Friday and is sitting out his second straight game Sunday. It appears he won't be ready after Monday's off day, either, although there hasn't been talk of a disabled list stint yet. Jerry Sands will handle the designated hitter duties while Garcia is out.
May 1 - 12:17 PM

Avisail Garcia (hamstring) is not in the White Sox lineup Saturday against the Orioles.

He's not expected to play on Sunday either. The White Sox are off on Monday, which means the earliest we'd see him is Tuesday. Garcia tweaked his hamstring in Friday night's loss. "It’s a little tight," said manager Robin Ventura. "I don’t think it’s a DL situation there but he definitely did something going down the line there." Jerry Sands will DH and bat seventh Saturday with Garcia sidelined.
Apr 30 - 6:39 PM

Avisail Garcia tweaked his hamstring during the final out of Friday's loss to the Orioles.

Garcia will be re-evaluated on Saturday, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him sit out on Saturday as a precautionary measure. He collected an RBI triple in Friday's game before suffering the injury.
Apr 29 - 10:10 PM

Avisail Garcia hit a solo homer, drove in two runs and scored three times in Tuesday's win over the Blue Jays.

Garcia got the scoring going with a dinger in the third inning and wrapped up the scoring with a sac fly in the ninth. It was his third longball of the season, although he's hitting only .186/.269/.373 this month. The White Sox had little trouble against R.A. Dickey and the Jays' bullpen, piling up 15 hits -- including three homers -- and 10 runs.
