Avisail Garcia delivered a two-run double on Friday helping to lead the White Sox to a 4-3 victory over the Rays.
He finished the night 1-for-5, but his two-run double off Jeremy Hellickson in the fifth inning capped off a four-run rally and proved to be the difference in the ballgame. He missed the majority of the 2014 season due to injury, but has been productive in his limited time, hitting .252/.314/.413 with five homers and 25 RBI in 143 at-bats. He'll be a a trendy sleeper pick heading into 2015 fantasy drafts. Sep 19 - 11:04 PM

Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the White Sox' 6-2 win over the Tigers on Sunday.

Garcia had an RBI single in the second inning and doubled in another run in the sixth. It was a good afternoon for the 23-year-old, who has largely struggled since coming back from the disabled list. He's batting just .235/.298/.435 through 23 games this season.

Avisail Garcia went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI in a loss to the Indians on Tuesday.

Garcia did some early damage, delivering a two-run single in the first inning. Garcia also struck out twice, giving him 12 strikeouts in 33 at-bats since coming off the disabled list. Owners have to live with that frustration for his production -- Garcia has three doubles, two home runs and nine RBI in those nine games as well. The 23-year-old is hitting .254/.304/.492 overall.

Avisail Garcia drove in all three White Sox runs with a homer and a sac fly Wednesday against the Orioles.

Garcia is 5-for-16 with three extra-base hits and six RBI since rejoining the White Sox following a four-month DL stint. It looks like he could be rather useful in mixed leagues the rest of the way.
Aug 20 - 11:01 PM

Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with an RBI in his return to the White Sox lineup on Saturday.

It was the first game for Garcia since he tore the labrum in his left shoulder on April 9. He doubled to right field in the second inning (his first at-bat in over four months) and then smacked an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth. The talented 23-year-old outfielder is worth owning in most standard fantasy leagues for the stretch run.
Aug 16 - 10:16 PM

White Sox activated OF Avisail Garcia from the 60-day disabled list.

Garcia tore the labrum in his left shoulder in early April and was expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season, but has made very quick progress in his recovery. He hit .340/.377/.460 with a homer and three RBI over 13 games on his minor league rehab assignment. He's worth adding if available in deeper mixed leagues for the duration.
Aug 16 - 3:29 PM

White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Friday that Avisail Garcia (shoulder) could be activated from the disabled list this weekend.

Previously ruled out for the season with a torn left labrum, Garcia has made a rapid recovery and is batting .340/.377/.460 with one homer over 13 rehab games. He's worth stashing in deeper leagues if he's still out there on your waiver wire.
Aug 15 - 5:37 PM

White Sox manager Robin Ventura thinks Avisail Garcia (shoulder) will need 50 plate appearances during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte.

He entered play Tuesday with 41, so Garcia should just be a few days away from a return. "Hopefully coming to end of the [rehab] in several days or week or so," general manager Rick Hahn said Tuesday. Garcia entered Tuesday hitting .368/.415/.500 with a home run so far on his rehab assignment.
Aug 12 - 9:39 PM

Avisail Garcia (shoulder) played right field at Triple-A Charlotte Thursday for the first time during his rehab assignment.

He had been limited to designated hitter duty as the White Sox eased him back into game action. Garcia is batting .478/.500/.652 over his first six rehab contests and is expected back before the end of the month.
Aug 7 - 10:56 PM

Avisail Garcia checked out OK after he was hit in the left elbow with a pitch Sunday during a rehab game with Triple-A Charlotte.

Garcia underwent X-rays after the hit-by-pitch, but it looks like he dodged a bullet. The 23-year-old outfielder is currently making his way back from surgery to repair a torn labrum and avulsion fracture in his left shoulder and should rejoin the White Sox later this month if all goes well.
Aug 4 - 5:39 PM

Avisail Garcia (shoulder) left a rehab game with Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday after being hit on the left elbow by a pitch.

It's not clear at this point whether it might be a significant setback. The White Sox should update Garcia's status before long. The outfielder entered Sunday with five hits in his first nine rehab at-bats.
Aug 3 - 3:18 PM

Avisail Garcia (shoulder) has been cleared to begin a rehab assignment Friday at Triple-A Charlotte.

Garcia will start out playing designated hitter before eventually shifting to the outfield. The White Sox are expected to take it slowly with the 23-year-old, who tore his left shoulder labrum in early April. He could be activated around late August if all goes well.
Jul 30 - 4:38 PM

White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Saturday that he expected Avisail Garcia (shoulder) back in September, at the latest.

The White Sox ruled Garcia out for the season when he tore his left labrum in early April, but he's healed quicker than expected and will be sent out on a rehab assignment before long. "It’s pretty amazing his recovery time, how he looks and how healthy he looks,’’ Ventura said. "I think by September he’ll be playing again this year. Earlier than that, I don’t know, but I expect him now to play here. I wouldn’t have said that awhile ago just because of the prognosis of how long the recovery was going to be.’’ Ventura added that when Garcia does return, "there is no more of a risk on that shoulder than there’s going to be a year from now."
Jul 27 - 9:48 AM

White Sox manager Robin Ventura said that Avisail Garcia (shoulder) was "looking pretty normal" while taking live batting practice on Thursday.

"You see how close he’s getting," the skipper added. The White Sox ruled Garcia out for the season when he tore his left labrum in early April, but he's healed quicker than expected and it's looking like he has a real shot to return late this season. It's not clear when Garcia might go out on a rehab assignment, but he would surely need a bunch of rehab at-bats.
Jul 24 - 7:20 PM

Avisail Garcia (shoulder) said Saturday that the next step for him is going out on a rehab assignment.

Garcia has been taking one-handed swings and is only feeling a bit of tightness in his shoulder. It's unclear when the rehab assignment would begin, and when it does he'll remain on it for a while. However, after being ruled out for the season when he tore his left labrum in early April, it sounds like there's a chance Garcia could return late this year. "Everybody’s different," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said. "On the other hand, you don’t necessarily want a guy down there exposing him to that as much if he could be up here doing it. What’s the right time? I don’t know."
