Avisail Garcia went 3-for-5 with three singles, a run scored and two strikeouts in Saturday's loss to the Mariners.
This was Garcia's fifth three-hit game of the season. He's also managed a four-hit game. On May 31, he was hitting .323/.360/.445, but as the weeks passed and summer turned its lonely eyes toward the end of August, that lovely slash-line has fallen to its current .268/.317/.379 state. Avisail Garcia worked a bases-loaded walk in the top of the 10th to break a 3-3 tie in the White Sox's 6-3 win over the Mariners on Saturday.

Garcia also singled and scored twice in the game. He's walked in three straight games, which qualifies as rare patience from him. He's batting .273 with four homers, 13 RBI and 14 runs scored in 20 games this month.
Aug 23 - 1:13 AM

Avisail Garcia hit a walk-off RBI double in the 13th inning against the Angels on Wednesday.

Garcia finished 1-for-4 with two walks on the night. He laced a Cesar Ramos offering into the gap in left-center, allowing Jose Abreu to score from first base. Garcia is hitting .264/.313/.386 with 11 home runs and 43 RBI this season.
Aug 13 - 12:57 AM

Avisail Garcia clubbed a pair of home runs and knocked in four runs, powering the White Sox past the Angels on Monday.

Garcia made it a 3-0 game with a solo home run off of Matt Shoemaker, then broke the game open with a three-run homer in the sixth against Shoemaker to make it 6-0. Garcia has homered four times in his last six games, giving him 11 on the season with 42 RBI and a modest .266/.313/.388 batting line.
Aug 10 - 11:06 PM

Avisail Garcia drew a walkoff walk Wednesday as the White Sox topped the visiting Rays 6-5.

Garcia watched a 3-1 pitch from Brad Boxberger sail outside in the bottom of the 10th inning, pushing Adam Eaton home from third base. He also hit a three-run shot in Chicago's five-run first inning and he homered and scored two runs on Tuesday. The 24-year-old outfielder could be in for a big finish to what has been a relatively disappointing 2015.
Aug 5 - 5:48 PM

Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in a loss against the Rays on Tuesday.

Garcia salvaged his night a bit with the blast, a solo shot in the ninth inning of a blowout. Somewhat unbelievably, it was Garcia's first homer since June 8. The outfielder has struggled to hit for power for much of the year, batting just .267/.312/.369 with 34 RBI and 41 runs scored.
Aug 5 - 12:14 AM

Avisail Garcia is not in the White Sox starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the Royals.

It's nothing more than a routine day of rest for the outfielder. J.B. Shuck will start in right field and bat seventh against Jeremy Guthrie and the Royals on Saturday.
Jul 18 - 12:40 PM

Avisail Garcia went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's win over the Royals.

After a relatively quiet first half, Garcia's second half is off to a good start. The 24-year-old hasn't homered since way back on June 8 and it's worth wondering how much power upside he truly has. His fly ball rate is among the lowest in the majors, so he might not be able to take advantage of playing half of his games in hitter-friendly U.S. Cellular Field.
Jul 18 - 12:20 AM

Avisail Garcia went 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI against the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Garcia's .283 average is fine, but he's not doing enough else to be a useful regular for the White Sox. He has just 16 extra-base hits in 276 at-bats, he's walked 15 times, he's been caught stealing in half of his attempts and he's failed to play above average defense in right field. He's still just 24, but he's far from looking like a future star.
Jul 9 - 2:14 AM

Avisail Garcia is out of Thursday's lineup against the Pirates.

Garcia has really faded since hurting his knee in late May, so a day off could be good for him. J.B. Shuck will start in right field.
Jun 18 - 5:24 PM

Avisail Garcia's two-run home run proved the difference as the White Sox held off the Astros on Monday.

Garcia, who finished 1-for-2, broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the White Sox a 3-1 lead. He's gone yard seven times this year, including three times in his last four games. Garcia is batting .296/.351/.453 with 25 RBI as well.
Jun 8 - 11:41 PM

Avisail Garcia went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer during Sunday's loss to the Tigers.

After a miserable Saturday in which he went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against David Price, Garcia ended his week on a more positive note, hitting a three-run homer off of Alfredo Simon in the first inning. Garcia also homered on Friday. Last season, he set a career high for homers with seven, a number which he'll be flying by soon enough, as he's already hit six long balls in 177 at-bats.
Jun 7 - 5:10 PM

Avisail Garcia was drilled by an Alex Wilson fastball with the bases loaded in the 11th inning on Friday, propelling the White Sox to a walkoff 4-3 victory.

It had looked bleak for the White Sox as they were down to their final out in the ninth inning before Adam LaRoche belted a game-tying homer off Joakim Soria to force extra innings. Garcia launched a solo shot of his own in the seventh inning, finishing the night 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI.
Jun 5 - 11:31 PM

Avisail Garcia (knee) is back in the White Sox starting lineup Saturday versus the Astros.

Garcia missed several games with discomfort in his right knee. The rest should do him some good in the long term. He's batting .327/.365/.456 with four home runs and 18 RBI in 39 games this season for the Pale Hose.
May 30 - 12:54 PM

Avisail Garcia (knee) expects to return to the White Sox lineup on Saturday.

He hasn't played since aggravating his knee injury during Monday's game. It's the type of injury that isn't serious enough to land him on the disabled list, but could continue to crop up here and there throughout the grind of the MLB season.
