Tommy Milone pitched well in a no-decision against the Royals on Saturday, surrendering just one run on six hits over his six frames.
Milone struck out five and walked two on the afternoon. The Twins needed a victory on Saturday to keep their Wild Card hopes alive, and Milone certainly did everything in his power to make sure that happened. He finishes the season 9-5 with a 3.92 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 91/36 K/BB ratio over 128 2/3 innings. Oct 3 - 4:08 PM

Tommy Milone will start on Saturday against the Royals.

Milone pitched well while filling in for Phil Hughes (illness) Monday, so the Twins will stick with him and send Hughes to the bullpen. The left-hander holds a 4.04 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 86/34 K/BB ratio over 122 2/3 innings this season.
Sep 30 - 2:21 PM

Tommy Milone picked up the win on Monday against the Indians, allowing two runs in 5 2/3 innings.

Francisco Lindor accounted for both runs, hitting a solo home run in the first inning and plating another run with a ground out in the sixth. On the night, Milone gave up four hits while walking none and striking out four. He now has a 4.04 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP, and an 86/34 K/BB ratio over 122 2/3 innings. Milone's final regular season test comes at home against the Royals.
Sep 28 - 10:24 PM

Tommy Milone will make an emergency spot start for the Twins on Monday night against the Indians.

Milone hasn't appeared in a game since September 17 due to shoulder fatigue, but he's being called on Monday in Cleveland with Phil Hughes unable to go. Milone makes for a very poor fantasy play under the circumstances.
Sep 28 - 3:52 PM

Tommy Milone (shoulder) threw a successful bullpen session on Saturday and could be available to pitch out of the bullpen as early as Monday.

He threw 35 pitches using his full repertoire. Milone was scratched from his last start because of shoulder fatigue. The left-hander owns a 4.08 ERA in 22 outings this season.
Sep 26 - 4:13 PM

Tommy Milone (shoulder) will throw a 20-30 pitch bullpen session Saturday.

Milone still felt weakness in his left shoulder while throwing on Thursday but isn't ready to shut it down yet. He thinks he'll be available to pitch soon, although it would likely be in a relief role.
Sep 25 - 4:46 PM

Tommy Milone still felt weakness in his left shoulder while throwing on Thursday.

"I don’t know if we were overly encouraged by it," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. "I don’t think it was a setback, but I don’t think the reports are that he’s imminently ready to return." It's beginning to look unlikely that Milone will make it back this season. He made his last start on September 17.
Sep 25 - 10:30 AM

Tommy Milone (shoulder) has a throwing session scheduled for Tuesday.

Milone was scratched from his scheduled start over the weekend due to left shoulder fatigue. However, if all goes well Tuesday, he could return to start Saturday against the Tigers.
Sep 22 - 2:27 PM

Tommy Milone will not make his next scheduled start due to left shoulder fatigue.

It could help explain why Milone allowed 12 runs -- nine earned -- while lasting just five innings over his last two outings. Given how late it is in the season, it's certainly possible he's made his last start. Phil Hughes will take his spot.
Sep 20 - 12:08 PM

Tommy Milone was yanked after giving up five runs in 1 1/3 innings Thursday against the Angels.

Milone has turned in two ugly starts in a row since improving to 8-4 with a 3.54 ERA by beating the Royals on Sept. 7. The Twins will likely keep him in the rotation for now, but they might have to try something different if he's not better next time out.
Sep 18 - 12:12 AM

Tommy Milone struggled in Saturday's loss to the White Sox, surrendering seven runs (four earned) on eight hits over 3 2/3 innings.

The White Sox exploded for seven runs in the fourth inning, sinking Milone's chances for the win. Because just four of the runs were earned, it jumped his ERA from 3.54 to 3.75. Could look worse. He'll face off with the Angels at Target Field in his next scheduled start.
Sep 12 - 10:56 PM

Tommy Milone pitched seven innings of two-run ball in Monday's win against the Royals.

Milone worked around six hits and a walk with four strikeouts. The Royals scored once in the first inning on a fielder's choice ground out, and once more in the seventh on a single. The lefty has been rock solid in the Twins' rotation, now sporting a 3.54 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP and a 79/29 K/BB ratio over 112 innings. Milone will take the hill in Chicago to face the White Sox next.
Sep 7 - 11:16 PM

Tommy Milone shut out the White Sox for seven innings Wednesday to improve to 7-4.

Three of those wins have come against the White Sox. He has an 0.87 ERA against them and a 4.27 ERA versus everyone else. The quality start tonight was his first in seven tries since the All-Star break.
Sep 2 - 11:27 PM

Tommy Milone was handed a no-decision Friday against the Orioles after giving up three runs over 5 1/3 innings.

Milone held the Orioles scoreless until Gerardo Parra connected for a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning. He left the game on the losing side of things, but the Twins took the lead in the eighth inning. The southpaw fanned four and walked on in the no-decision and now owns a 3.73 ERA on the year. He'll get the Rays on the road next time out.
Aug 21 - 10:38 PM

Making his return from the disabled list, Tommy Milone allowed one run on three hits over five innings in Sunday's win over the Indians.

Milone missed two weeks with an elbow sprain. Back in action on Sunday, he struck out three and walked three while surrendering only a second-inning sacrifice fly to Abraham Almonte. The 28-year-old southpaw allowed four or more runs in each of his last three starts prior to landing on the DL, but still owns a respectable enough 3.65 ERA and 1.27 WHIP for the season. Up next on the docket, a road tilt with the Orioles.
