Mets placed LHP Tommy Milone on the 10-day disabled list with a left knee sprain.

A timetable for Milone's return has not yet been laid out, but should clarify as he moves further away from the initial injury. It is not clear at this juncture when he sustained the knee sprain. In the short term, Josh Smoker or Rafael Montero will be starting in his place against the Pirates on Saturday.
May 24 - 5:32 PM

Tommy Milone will not make his scheduled Saturday start against the Pirates due to an knee injury.

It is not quite clear when Milone injured his knee, but he was crushed to the tune of eight runs by the Angels in his start on Sunday. Josh Smoker is looking like a probable starter for Saturday, now, with Rafael Montero another possible option.
May 24 - 4:52 PM

Tommy Milone was obliterated for eight runs -- seven earned -- over just 1 1/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the Angels.

Milone walked two and gave up seven hits, including three home runs. The left-hander now has a 7.91 ERA and 1.73 WHIP through 33 innings (six starts, three relief appearances) this season.
May 21 - 4:43 PM

Tommy Milone gave up five runs over 5 2/3 innings of work on Tuesday in Arizona.

Milone retired the first six batters he faced, but things got hairy in a hurry in the third as he gave up three hits, two walks and three runs. He then served up a solo shot to Yasmany Tomas to lead off the fifth. Milone was decent in his first outing with the Mets and he’ll get some more chances with the club’s injuries. The next test will come versus the Padres.
May 17 - 12:49 AM

Tommy Milone allowed two earned runs over five innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Giants.

San Francisco mounted a ninth-inning comeback against Mets closer Jeurys Familia to steal the afternoon victory. Milone walked two and gave up six hits, including a solo home run to Buster Posey in the top of the second inning. The lefty struck out five.
May 10 - 4:48 PM

Tommy Milone will start on Wednesday against the Giants.

That's assuming the waiver claim arrives to Citi Field on Monday with enough time to throw a bullpen session. Milone, who posted a 6.43 ERA for the Brewers before they designated him for assignment, will bump Rafael Montero from the rotation.
May 8 - 5:46 PM

The Mets are considering Tommy Milone to start Wednesday against the Giants, reports Mike Puma of the New York Post.

Matt Harvey is apparently not in the mix here, as the Mets might prefer for him to make his return on the road. Milone was just claimed off waivers from the Brewers on Sunday. He had an ugly 6.43 ERA through three starts and three relief appearances prior to being designated for assignment, but the Mets weren't happy with what they saw from Rafael Montero's first opportunity as a fill-in for Noah Syndergaard.
May 8 - 3:53 PM

Mets claimed LHP Tommy Milone off waivers from the Brewers.

Milone was lit up for a 6.43 ERA through three starts and three relief appearances for the Brewers and got designated for assignment. However, he'll likely be thrust right into the Mets' rotation given their injury issues. Milone could take Rafael Montero's spot later this week.
May 7 - 2:17 PM

Brewers designated LHP Tommy Milone for assignment.

The move clears a spot for Rob Scahill on the active roster. Milone has been rocked to the tune of a 6.43 ERA through three starts and three relief appearances this season.
May 1 - 11:44 AM

Tommy Milone notched his second career save while allowing one run over three innings Tuesday against the Reds.

The Brewers wisely let him finish up the 9-1 game tonight, allowing them to save their short relievers for Wednesday. Milone, who made three starts earlier this month, was returned to the pen with Matt Garza coming back from the DL.
Apr 26 - 12:55 AM

Tommy Milone limited the Cubs to one run on three hits over five innings Wednesday in a no-decision.

Milone gave up a solo home run to Albert Almora in the bottom of the second inning but was otherwise excellent, striking out five batters and walking none following a 55-minute rain delay. He was robbed of a victory when Brewers closer Neftali Feliz blew his first save in the bottom of the ninth. Milone is now 2-0 on the season, though he's sporting a 5.63 ERA in 16 innings. He'll get the Reds at home next.
Apr 19 - 6:46 PM

Tommy Milone allowed three runs in five innings in Friday’s win over the Reds.

Milone fell behind after giving up a two-run homer to Zack Cozart in the second inning and a solo shot to Joey Votto in the third, but the Brewers chipped away in the fourth inning before taking the lead in the sixth. The southpaw struck out three and walked none for his first MLB win since last July 19. The southpaw is filling in for Junior Guerra (calf) in the Brewers’ rotation and makes for a risky option in fantasy leagues.
Apr 14 - 10:42 PM

Tommy Milone gave up four runs on nine hits and was pulled after four innings in Saturday's loss to the Cubs.

The Cubs didn't have any problems making contact against Milone, who walked one and fanned two. This was his first start since replacing the injured Junior Guerra in the Brewers' rotation. The veteran journeyman has played with five major league teams, most recently last year with the Twins when he put up a 5.71 ERA in 69 1/3 innings. He makes for a risky play in fantasy leagues.
Apr 8 - 11:33 PM

Brewers manager Craig Counsell confirmed Tuesday that Tommy Milone is moving into the rotation.

Milone will make his first start Saturday in place of Junior Guerra, who is out at least six weeks with a right calf strain. Milone struggled this spring in the Cactus League and holds a 5.80 ERA over his last 71 1/3 major league innings. He should not be trusted in standard fantasy formats.
