Tommy Milone has been shut down after being diagnosed with a bone spur in his left elbow.

It ends an awful season that saw Milone post a 7.63 ERA over 17 appearances -- eight starts -- for the Brewers and Mets. He'll be a free agent this winter.
Sep 29 - 4:06 PM

Tommy Milone pitched well in a no-decision against the Nationals on Sunday, allowing just one run on six hits across 4 1/3 frames.

The veteran southpaw punched out five on the afternoon and issued just one free pass. It was a much better effort than the five runs he gave up to the Diamondbacks in his first start. Milone is now expected to shift back to the bullpen.
Aug 27 - 5:26 PM

Filling in for Steven Matz, Tommy Milone gave up six runs -- five earned -- in 4 2/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Diamondbacks.

Milone spent the last three months on the DL with a sprained knee, though he did spend a full month pitching in the minors on a rehab assignment. He's given up 19 earned runs over 16 2/3 innings in his four starts for the Mets this year. How much longer he'll be needed in the rotation is anyone's guess.
Aug 22 - 11:00 PM

Tommy Milone will start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks in place of Steven Matz (arm).

It's unclear at this point how long Matz will be sidelined, but Milone should get at least a couple starts. He's posted a 7.91 ERA over nine appearances -- six starts -- in the majors this season and can be avoided for fantasy purposes.
Aug 21 - 4:14 PM

Mets activated LHP Tommy Milone from the 60-day disabled list.

Milone missed the last three months with a sprained knee. He'll operate in long relief for now but could get some starts down the stretch.
Aug 20 - 8:40 AM

Tommy Milone, on the DL since late May with a sprained knee, made his fourth start for Double-A Binghamton on Wednesday, allowing three runs over 5 2/3 innings.

Milone should be back in the mix for a spot in the Mets' rotation after one more start, though it'd be better if the Mets could stick him in middle relief instead. Overall, he has a 4.20 ERA and a 10/2 K/BB ratio in 15 innings in his rehab assignment.
Aug 11 - 10:51 AM

Mets transferred LHP Tommy Milone from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Chase Bradford. Milone now isn't eligible to return from his knee sprain until late July.
Jun 23 - 8:13 AM

Mets placed LHP Tommy Milone on the 10-day disabled list with a left knee sprain.

A timetable for Milone's return has not yet been laid out, but should clarify as he moves further away from the initial injury. It is not clear at this juncture when he sustained the knee sprain. In the short term, Josh Smoker or Rafael Montero will be starting in his place against the Pirates on Saturday.
May 24 - 5:32 PM

Tommy Milone will not make his scheduled Saturday start against the Pirates due to an knee injury.

It is not quite clear when Milone injured his knee, but he was crushed to the tune of eight runs by the Angels in his start on Sunday. Josh Smoker is looking like a probable starter for Saturday, now, with Rafael Montero another possible option.
May 24 - 4:52 PM

Tommy Milone was obliterated for eight runs -- seven earned -- over just 1 1/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the Angels.

Milone walked two and gave up seven hits, including three home runs. The left-hander now has a 7.91 ERA and 1.73 WHIP through 33 innings (six starts, three relief appearances) this season.
May 21 - 4:43 PM

Tommy Milone gave up five runs over 5 2/3 innings of work on Tuesday in Arizona.

Milone retired the first six batters he faced, but things got hairy in a hurry in the third as he gave up three hits, two walks and three runs. He then served up a solo shot to Yasmany Tomas to lead off the fifth. Milone was decent in his first outing with the Mets and he’ll get some more chances with the club’s injuries. The next test will come versus the Padres.
May 17 - 12:49 AM

Tommy Milone allowed two earned runs over five innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Giants.

San Francisco mounted a ninth-inning comeback against Mets closer Jeurys Familia to steal the afternoon victory. Milone walked two and gave up six hits, including a solo home run to Buster Posey in the top of the second inning. The lefty struck out five.
May 10 - 4:48 PM

Tommy Milone will start on Wednesday against the Giants.

That's assuming the waiver claim arrives to Citi Field on Monday with enough time to throw a bullpen session. Milone, who posted a 6.43 ERA for the Brewers before they designated him for assignment, will bump Rafael Montero from the rotation.
May 8 - 5:46 PM

The Mets are considering Tommy Milone to start Wednesday against the Giants, reports Mike Puma of the New York Post.

Matt Harvey is apparently not in the mix here, as the Mets might prefer for him to make his return on the road. Milone was just claimed off waivers from the Brewers on Sunday. He had an ugly 6.43 ERA through three starts and three relief appearances prior to being designated for assignment, but the Mets weren't happy with what they saw from Rafael Montero's first opportunity as a fill-in for Noah Syndergaard.
