Xander Bogaerts came through with an RBI single in the 11th inning on Friday, leading the Red Sox to a 2-1 walkf-off victory over the visiting Tigers.
It was curious that Bogaerts was even given a chance to come through in that spot, as first base was open and Pablo Sandoval was waiting in the on-deck circle with a left-hander on the mound. The 22-year-old finished the night 3-for-5 and is now hitting a very impressive .310/.341/.414 with 47 RBI on the season. Jul 24 - 11:04 PM

Xander Bogaerts was removed from Thursday's game against the Rangers after being hit by a pitch in his left wrist.

He remained in the game for a few innings after he was drilled, but was pinch-hit for his next time through the order. He'll presumably head for precautionary X-rays and the Red Sox should have an update on his status after the game.
May 28 - 9:28 PM

Xander Bogaerts hit just his second homer of the year Wednesday against the Rangers.

Bogaerts has essentially been a league average offensive shortstop with his .260 average, two homers and 10 walks in 131 at-bats, but that's because the shortstops as a whole have been pretty awful this season. He's been pretty solid defensively, too; while his range isn't the greatest, miscues have been few and far between. Of course, the hope was that Bogaerts would be a whole lot better than average. He still might be, but nothing so far suggests he's on the verge of breaking out.
May 20 - 10:50 PM

Xander Bogaerts is not in the Red Sox' lineup.

It's just a day off for Bogaerts, who has struggled with a .211/.250/.316 batting line this month. Brock Holt is at shortstop Wednesday.
