The ultra-talented young shortstop is hitting .329/.385/.474 with 61 RBI and 72 runs scored, sixth-most in the American League, on the season. Jul 24 - 12:47 AM

Xander Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored in a lopsided win over the Twins on Thursday.

The first four hitters in the Sox lineup finished 14-for-19 in the one-sided affair, and Bogaerts was right in the middle of the action with a two-run double in the third inning. The 23-year-old is hitting .324/.380/.470 with 61 RBI and 71 runs scored this year, and he's got 11 homers and 11 steals to boot.

Xander Bogaerts launched a two-run homer in Friday’s win over the Yankees.

His sixth-inning blast ended up being the difference in the game. Ryan Hanigan and Travis Shaw also went deep in the victory. Bogaerts is now up to 11 home runs on the year, so he’s already one shy of his career-high from 2014. Of course, he needed 144 games to do that. He played in his 86th game of the season on Friday.
Jul 15 - 10:21 PM

Xander Bogaerts hit his 10th home run of the season, a two-run shot, in Saturday's win over the Rays.

Bogaerts finished 1-for-3 on the day with the two-run bomb off Rays starter Matt Moore. The 23-year-old All-Star is having a heck of a year to this point, batting .331 -- third-best average among qualified AL hitters -- with a .871 OPS, 55 RBI, 65 runs scored and 11 steals. The future is now.
Jul 9 - 10:15 PM

Xander Bogaerts is back in Wednesday's lineup against the Rays.

Bogaerts was given the day off Tuesday, but he's right back in there for Wednesday's game. The 23-year-old shortstop is batting .343/.395/.494 with nine homers, 50 RBI, and 10 steals over 75 games this season.
Jun 29 - 9:38 AM

Red Sox manager John Farrell said during a radio appearance on WEEI that Xander Bogaerts will get the day off off Tuesday versus the Rays.

Farrell has talked about giving Bogaerts a day off, so he's going to get it out of the way. Marco Hernandez is expected to start at shortstop.
Jun 28 - 2:47 PM

Xander Bogaerts is in the Red Sox's starting lineup Monday against the Rays.

Manager John Farrell hinted that Bogaerts would get the night off after making his third error in four games Sunday against Texas. The Red Sox even called up infielder Mike Miller from Triple-A Pawtucket to spell Bogaerts at shortstop but here he is, starting for the 59th game in a row. Bogaerts will bat in his usual third spot against Rays left-hander Blake Snell.
Jun 27 - 3:25 PM

Red Sox manager John Farrell says Xander Bogaerts is tired and "needs a day."

Bogaerts' bat hasn't slowed down yet—his batting average is second in the American League behind Jose Altuve—but his defense has deteriorated over the past week with three errors in his last four games. Xander hasn't sat since April 23 and is due for a breather. Sitting Wednesday against the Rays is the most likely scenario with the Red Sox off on Thursday. That would give Xander a couple days to catch his breath.
Jun 27 - 8:48 AM

Xander Bogaerts singled in Mookie Betts in the bottom of the 10th to give the Red Sox an 8-7 win over the White Sox on Thursday.

It was Bogaerts' second hit of the game, and it made a winner out of Craig Kimbrel, who came up big for a Red Sox team that badly needed it today. With the win, the Red Sox avoided what would have been the White Sox's first four-game sweep at Fenway since 1927.
Jun 23 - 6:11 PM

Xander Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI against the White Sox on Wednesday.

The double might have been a homer, but a fan interfered with it from atop the Green Monster and it was ruled a double after replays were inconclusive. Bogaerts is having such a strong season that a three-hit game merely raises his average from .347 to .351. He's collected 104 hits, seven more than anyone else in either league.
Jun 22 - 11:11 PM

Xander Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a home run in a win over the Mariners on Saturday.

He just keeps hitting. The 23-year-old is now hitting .359 this month with three homers and 16 RBI. Overall, he's still the AL leader in batting with a .352 average while placing fourth in the league in runs (54) and ninth in RBI (46). And he's just getting started.
Jun 18 - 7:15 PM

Xander Bogaerts finished 4-for-5 with three RBI and four runs scored in Saturday's 15-4 blowout win over the Twins.

He doubled, homered, smacked two singles, and executed a brilliant baserunning maneuver in the top of the sixth inning, going from first base to third base on a routine grounder. The two-run shot off Ryan Pressly in the top of the eighth was Bogaerts' eighth home run this season and his double in the first was his 20th double. The star shortstop is slashing .358/.405/.529 with 51 runs scored and 43 RBI in 60 games played.
Jun 11 - 6:05 PM

Xander Bogaerts went deep and drove home four runs on Friday, powering the Red Sox to an 8-1 victory over the Twins in Minnesota.

Bogaerts got the scoring started with a three-run jack off of Tyler Duffey in the fifth inning. He tacked on an RBI single the following frame, increasing their lead to 6-0. The star shortstop finished the night 4-for-5, raising his season slash to an impressive .349/.398/.508 with seven homers, 40 RBI and eight stolen bases.
Jun 11 - 12:20 AM

Xander Bogaerts hit a go-ahead two-run single in the 10th inning of Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Giants.

Bogaerts finished the game 2-for-5 with three RBI and a steal. He worked an RBI infield single in the third inning, then waited until the 10th to supply his second hit of the evening. That two-run single off Santiago Casilla snapped a 3-3 tie and propelled the Sox to victory after the Giants were unable to answer the call in the bottom of the frame. For the season, Bogaerts is slashing .346/.396/.498 with 19 doubles, six homers, 39 RBI and nine steals across 148 at-bats.
Jun 8 - 3:01 AM

Xander Bogaerts had his hitting streak snapped at 26 games Friday against the Blue Jays.

Bogaerts went 0-for-3 with a pair of walks and a run scored. He had one last chance to extend his hitting streak (and more importantly, keep the Red Sox in the game) when he came up with two outs in the ninth inning, but he struck out against Roberto Osuna to end it.
