Leury Garcia (elbow) is absent from the White Sox's lineup Saturday against the Mariners.

He hasn't started since taking a pitch off his elbow on Thursday night, though he did appear as a pinch-runner on Friday. The White Sox will only have two Garcias in the lineup on Saturday with Avisail in right field and Willy in center. Leury remains day-to-day.
May 20 - 6:18 PM

Leury Garcia (elbow) appeared as a pinch runner and scored the winning run in Friday's extra-inning victory over the Mariners.

Garcia was drilled with a pitch during Thursday's game and he sat out on Friday as a precautionary measure. It's unclear if he still feels pain in the elbow while swinging, so check to make sure he's in Saturday's lineup before firing him up for fantasy purposes.
May 20 - 8:22 AM

Leury Garcia left Thursday's game against the Mariners with a bruised right elbow.

Garcia came out after taking a pitch off his elbow in the fifth inning. Willy Garcia has come on to take his place in center field. The White Sox are calling him day-to-day. Garcia went 0-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base before exiting.
May 19 - 12:02 AM

Leury Garcia stayed hot in Sunday's 9-3 comeback victory over the Padres, going 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI.

Garcia also scored a pair of runs in the contest and swiped his third base of the season. He came through with a two-run double as part of an eight-run rally in the eighth inning that the White Sox used to take the lead and then put the game away. He has been a spark plug atop the lineup in recent days and is now hitting an impressive .307/.343/.485 with four homers and 14 RBI on the season.
May 14 - 5:58 PM

Leury Garcia connected for two homers and knocked in three runs Friday against the Padres.

It was the first multi-homer game of his career. Garcia carried the load for Chicago’s offense in the loss, slugging a two-run homer off Jhoulys Chacin in the third inning before taking him deep again in the seventh. Garcia has mostly played center field this season, but he started at shortstop and hit leadoff on Friday with Tim Anderson away from the team in order to attend the funeral of a close friend.
May 13 - 12:51 AM

Leury Garcia went 3-for-4 with a double Tuesday in the White Sox's 10-5 win over the Royals.

Garcia is getting more playing time over the slumping Jacob May and is hitting .318/.348/.500 in 44 at-bats. Absolutely nothing in Garcia's track record suggests that he'll continue to hit, but then, it's not like May figures to do anything either.
Apr 26 - 1:26 AM

Leury Garcia smacked a solo homer in Tuesday's win over the Yankees.

Garcia's two-out solo blast in the third inning was the only hit the White Sox managed through six innings against Luis Severino, although they broke through with three in the seventh. The light-hitting utility player has been getting more starts lately in center field with Jacob May's struggles.
Apr 18 - 9:33 PM

Leury Garcia departed Sunday's game against the Twins with soreness in his left hip.

It's unclear how Garcia was injured. He didn't receive a plate appearance Sunday before his season was prematurely ended.

Leury Garcia went 2-for-4 with a triple, a three-run home run and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Rays.

Both the triple and the dinger were the first in 13 games for Garcia, who was recalled in early September after spending the year with the club's Triple-A affiliate. Garcia had some prospect juice a few years back and was acquired by the Sox in a deal with the Rangers for Alex Rios in 2013, but he hasn't been able to carve out a meaningful role with the big club in recent seasons. He'll continue to be a complementary player going forward.

White Sox recalled INF/OF Leury Garcia from Triple-A Charlotte.

Garcia has spent the entire 2016 season at Triple-A, batting .313/.367/.426 with six home runs and 18 stolen bases in 84 games. He'll act as depth at multiple spots.

White Sox optioned INF Leury Garcia to Triple-A Charlotte.

Garcia batted just .139 (5-for-36) with nine strikeouts this spring. He bounced back and forth from the majors to the minors last season and we'll likely see something similar in 2016.

Leury Garcia hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to propel the White Sox to Saturday's 4-3 win over the Tigers.

The Tigers took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning, but it wouldn't hold. After a J.B. Shuck RBI double knotted the proceedings at 3-all, Garcia came up huge with an RBI single to score Shuck and end the affair. The 24-year-old outfielder is just 3-for-14 in his limited action this season.

White Sox recalled INF/OF Leury Garcia from Triple-A Charlotte.

Garcia last saw time with the White Sox in late July, when Emilio Bonifacio was sidelined with an oblique injury. He received six at-bats, picking up two hits. For a better sample size, he was hitting .298/.340/.395 with three homers, 31 RBI and 30 steals over 90 games for Triple-A Charlotte. With those wheels, he should be able to find work as a pinch-runner on the expanded roster.

Garcia was up for a couple weeks while Emilio Bonifacio (oblique) was out. He's picked up two hits in six at-bats in his limited action in the majors this season.
