Krol had a scheduled appearance Wednesday scratched due to tightness in his left forearm, but that's apparently gone away. The reliever is competing for a spot in the Opening Day bullpen.

The good news is that the injury isn't considered serious. The southpaw will likely throw a side session Thursday. Krol is fighting for a job in the Tigers' bullpen but he's struggled this spring, owning a 5.40 ERA and 2.00 WHIP through five appearances.

Krol will pitch there Friday and Sunday before being activated on Tuesday if all goes well. The reliever has been on the disabled list since June 21 because of left shoulder inflammation.
