Leonys Martin belted a two-run homer in Thursday's game versus the Rockies.
The longball came in the third inning off of Chad Betts and was Martin's second homer this spring. Recently anointed as the Rangers' leadoff hitter, Martin won't offer much from a power perspective but will give fantasy owners stolen bases and runs. Mar 26 - 11:41 PM

Rangers manager Jeff Bannister announced Saturday that Leonys Martin will function as the team's full-time leadoff hitter in 2015.

It's a nice boost to the fantasy value of the 27-year-old outfielder, who slashed .274/.325/.364 with seven homers, 40 RBI and 31 stolen bases in 2014 primarily from the bottom of the lineup. It should lead to a significant boost to his counting stats, particularly runs scored.

Leonys Martin went 2-for-3 with two singles, a walk, a stolen base, and two runs scored in a Cactus League tie with the White Sox on Wednesday.

The Rangers' starting center fielder filled up the box score, scoring the Rangers' first run in the first inning and their fourth and final run in the seventh. Though he doesn't provide much in the way of power, Martin can still provide some fantasy value as he has stolen 30-plus bases in each of the last two seasons.
Mar 11 - 7:49 PM

Leonys Martin clubbed his first home run of the spring in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Angels.

It was a two-run third-inning shot off Anaheim starter Hector Santiago. Martin will be looking to take a big step forward in 2015 after batting .274/.325/.364 with seven home runs and 31 stolen bases in 155 games last season for the Rangers.
Mar 10 - 7:28 PM

Leonys Martin swiped his 31st base of the season as the Rangers fell to the Athletics on Friday in Arlington.

Martin went 1-for-4 at the dish and drove home a run with an RBI groundout in the fifth inning. He's done a nice job in his first full season with the Rangers, slashing .276/.327/.368 with seven homers and 39 RBI.

Leonys Martin sat out Tuesday's game after fouling a ball off his right shin for the second straight day Monday.

He should be fine to return to action in a day or two. Martin is batting .277/.330/.371 with seven homers, 39 RBI and 29 stolen bases this season.

Leonys Martin went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Braves.

Martin had an RBI single and a run scored in the Rangers' six-run fifth inning. The three-hit game was his third in his last nine games, a stretch in which he is 15-for-38 (.395) with six runs scored. Martin has put together a nice year on a down Rangers squad, hitting .280/.330/.377 overall.

Leonys Martin had a productive night at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base, and a solo home run, but the Rangers fell to the Angels on Thursday.

Martin put the Rangers on the board in the bottom of the first inning with a solo shot off of Cory Rasmus. He also swiped his 27th base of the season and is now slashing .281/.332/.381 with seven home runs and 36 RBI.

Leonys Martin went 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Mariners.

Martin scored the game's lone run in the sixth inning when he singled, stole second and came in on a sacrifice fly. The three hit game capped a strong series for the 26-year-old, who went 8-for-15 with three steals and two runs scored. Martin is batting .279/.329/.375 with 26 stolen bases on the year.

Leonys Martin went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBI in Wednesday's 12-4 rout of the Mariners.

Martin hit an RBI single in the Rangers' four-run second inning and then singled and scored in the fourth. He capped off his productive afternoon with a two-run homer in the top of the sixth. Martin has not enjoyed the breakout season that many were predicting, but the dynamic 26-year-old is capable of putting up some big numbers down the stretch.

Leonys Martin finished 4-for-6 with a stolen base and a run scored as the Rangers outlasted the Rays 3-2 in 14 innings on Tuesday.

Martin collected four singles, his first multi-hit game this month and the first four-hit game of his career. The stolen base was his 20th of the season, the second straight season he's reached that plateau. Tuesday's big game was nice to see, but it's been a largely disappointing year for the 26-year-old, who's hitting .256/.312/.354 overall.

Leonys Martin went hitless in a third straight game on Monday, dropping his average to .249.

Martin has quietly been a pretty big disappointment this year, what with his complete inability to hit lefties and his power numbers trending in the wrong direction. Particularly disturbing is that he has just 10 doubles to go along with his six triples and five homers in 373 at-bats. It's not time to give up on him or anything, but the Rangers were certainly hoping for more.

Leonys Martin hit safely in both of his at-bats in Wednesday's rain-shortened game against the Yankees, going 2-for-2 with a triple and a run scored.

Martin singled and scored in the third, then tripled and was stranded with one out in the fifth, when the game was called. Martin owns a substandard .273/.328/.382 slash line with five home runs, 28 RBI, and 18 stolen bases.

Leonys Martin finished 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Astros.

Martin hit a solo home run in the second inning and added an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Martin also hit his fourth triple of the season in the game, boosting his average up to .274 with a .725 OPS. Martin should continue to start almost every day going forward, and with an injury-riddled Rangers squad the 26-year-old will likely continue to get more RBI opportunities as he hits near the middle of the lineup as well.

Leonys Martin had a nice night at the plate in Sunday's loss to the Angels, going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a run scored.

He was also caught stealing for the seventh time on the season. Hitting atop the Rangers lineup, Martin raised his season slash to .273/.328/.370 with the strong effort.
