Alex Dickerson went 1-for-1 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Giants.
Dickerson came off the bench to swat a solo home in the eighth inning. It drew the Padres to within 2-1, but neither team would score again after that home run. Date:

Alex Dickerson hit his ninth homer to account for the Padres' lone run Friday against the Rockies.

Dickerson is making his case for a starting spot in next year's outfield by hitting .262/.326/.475 in 202 at-bats to date. Still, his upside is pretty limited, particularly since he's not a very good outfielder (he began his pro career as a first baseman). The Padres could do worse in left field, but they could also do better.
Sep 10 - 2:13 AM

Alex Dickerson went 1-for-4 with a three-run double and four total RBI in Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Dickerson's bases-clearing double in the eighth inning was perhaps the key hit of the game. The Padres entered the frame trailing 7-6, but would flip the score to 9-7 courtesy of Dickerson's two-bagger. In 137 at-bats, the 26-year-old outfielder is slashing .270/.311/.504 with seven homers and 26 RBI. He has acquitted himself well enough through 47 games this season.
Aug 19 - 2:32 AM

Alex Dickerson (hip) is back in the Padres' starting lineup Tuesday versus the Brewers.

Dickerson sat out all weekend and again on Monday due to a right hip contusion. He is starting in left field and batting fifth Tuesday night against Brewers right-hander Zach Davies. Dickerson, 26, has an .887 OPS with six homers, 17 RBI, and two stolen bases in 33 games (20 starts) this season at the major league level.
Aug 2 - 5:48 PM

Alex Dickerson (hip) could be available off the bench on Monday.

Dickerson hasn't played since Friday due to a right hip contusion, but he's making progress and hopes to take batting practice on the field Monday. It sounds like he's getting close.
Aug 1 - 8:10 PM

Alex Dickerson (hip) expects to return in a day or two.

Dickerson was pulled from Friday's game after suffering a right hip contusion but the injury isn't considered serious and he could return as soon as Sunday. Utility man Alexi Amarista will handle left field in his absence Saturday against the Reds.
Jul 30 - 8:01 PM

Alex Dickerson was diagnosed with a right hip contusion after leaving Friday's game after colliding with teammate Travis Jankowski in the outfield.

Given how bad the collision looked, Padres fans and fantasy owners alike can breathe a sigh of relief that the only damage is a hip contusion. He should be considered day-to-day.
Jul 29 - 11:45 PM

Alex Dickerson was forced to leave Friday's game against the Reds in the first inning after a nasty collision with teammate Travis Jankowski.

Dickerson was attempting to track down a line drive from Zack Cozart in the left-center field gap when he was upended by a sliding Jankowski. He was able to walk off the field under his own power eventually, but will certainly head for further evaluation. Dickerson had homered in each of his last four games and his absence for any length of time would be a big blow to the Padres offense.
Jul 29 - 11:15 PM

Alex Dickerson homered for the fourth consecutive game Wednesday as the Padres beat the Blue Jays by a score of 8-4 at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

Dickerson went deep for a solo shot in the top of the eighth inning, becoming the first Padres rookie to homer in four straight games. The 26-year-old outfielder has been on an absolute tear over the last week and he has a clear path to regular playing time down the stretch with Melvin Upton now out of the picture in San Diego. Buy, buy, buy.
Jul 27 - 3:49 PM

Alex Dickerson went 2-for-5 and hit a three-run homer off the Jays' Marcus Stroman on Tuesday.

The Padres will want to give Hunter Renfroe a look before the year is out, but Dickerson is going to be their starting left fielder until further notice. He has an .879 OPS in 80 at-bats.
Jul 26 - 11:32 PM

Alex Dickerson went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in Monday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Dickerson took Bo Schultz deep in the ninth inning with a mammoth shot that went into the fifth deck in right field at Rogers Centre. It's his second straight game with three hits and a home run. Dickerson is sporting a .280/.325/.520 batting line.
Jul 25 - 9:52 PM

Alex Dickerson went 2-for-4 with a two-run triple and a double in Thursday's win over the Dodgers.

Dickerson raced around the bases for a two-run triple off Dodgers starter Hyun-jin Ryu in the fifth inning. With Thursday's two hits included in the tally, Dickerson has now managed five extra-base hits in 34 at-bats. His .265/.324/.559 triple-slash is enticing, though it automatically comes with a small sample size caveat. The 26-year-old outfielder was hitting .382/.42/.622 with 10 homers in 62 Triple-A games prior to his call-up on June 28. Those in very deep NL-only formats might consider a speculative flier on Dickerson given those minor league numbers and his initial success at the major league level.
Jul 8 - 1:04 AM

Padres recalled OF Alex Dickerson from Triple-A El Paso.

He'll replace the injured Jon Jay (forearm) on the active roster. Dickerson has had a monster year in Triple-A, batting .382/.425/.622 with 10 homers over 62 games. Still, we're not expecting much fantasy impact in part-time at-bats in San Diego's outfield.
Jun 28 - 1:54 PM

Padres OF prospect Alex Dickerson delivered a three-run homer in a pinch-hitting appearance Monday in a win for Triple-A El Paso.

The home run extended Dickerson's hitting streak to 21 games. That's the second-longest streak in the minors this year behind Red Sox prospect Andrew Benintendi, who produced a 23-game streak from April 11-May 6. The 25-year collected two hits in 10 at-bats during a two-week stay in San Diego earlier this year. Since returning to Triple-A on May 14, Dickerson has hit a remarkable .571 with four homers and 14 RBI.
